La calidad de vida es un aspecto relevante en la vida de las personas, más aún cuando se presentan comorbilidades altas en población general, por lo que su medición de forma válida y confiable es ...necesaria. Objetivo: Determinar las propiedades psicométricas del Instrumento de Evaluación de Funcionalidad en el Tratamiento para Enfermedades Crónicas (FACT-GP) en población general mexicana. Método: Se empleó un diseño transversal, con un muestreo no probabilístico, por disponibilidad. Análisis estadístico: Se realizó un modelo factorial confirmatorio. Resultados: Se incluyeron 254 participantes con M = 23.5 años (21-32). Se identificaron 4 factores con 18 reactivos. La consistencia interna de la escala global fue .81, que explican el 58.93 % de la varianza. El análisis factorial confirmatorio presenta índices adecuados (CFI, RMR, RMSEA), que indican un ajuste equilibrado y parsimonioso de la estructura del modelo. Conclusión: El FACT-GP mostró una estructura similar a la versión original, con indicadores válidos y confiables para su uso en la atención clínica e investigación dirigida a población general mexicana.
Introducción: La adherencia terapéutica es un aspecto clave en el éxito del tratamiento en oncología, sin embargo, su medición es un reto dentro del sistema de salud. Asimismo, no se tienen escalas ...especificas validas o construidas para evaluar la adherencia en pacientes con cáncer de mama. Objetivo: Determinar las propiedades psicométricas de la Escala de Adherencia Terapéutica al Cáncer de Mama (EAT-CaMa). Método: Se empleó un diseño no experimental, instrumental con un muestreo no probabilístico. Se incluyeron 189 participantes con diagnóstico de CaMa entre 21 y 84 años. Análisis estadísticos: Se realizó un análisis factorial exploratorio y consistencia interna. Resultados: La EATCaMa de 27 reactivos, obtuvo una consistencia interna global α= 0,81 y una varianza explicada del 64%. Se identificaron factores de autoeficacia y comunicación médico paciente, así como varios indicadores. Conclusión: El EAT-CaMa es un instrumento breve, válido y confiable para la evaluación multidimensional de la adherencia al tratamiento en población con CaMa. La estructura factorial identificada corrobora componentes reportados en la literatura y clínicamente relevantes. Se recomienda su uso en la atención clínica (inicio y seguimiento del tratamiento) y en investigación.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), has shown a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations ranging from asymptomatic ...infections to severe disease and death. Pre-existing medical conditions and age have been mainly linked to the development of severe disease; however, the potential association of viral genetic characteristics with different clinical conditions remains unclear. SARS-CoV-2 variants with increased transmissibility were detected early in the pandemics, and several variants with potential relevance for public health are currently circulating around the world. In this study, we characterized 57 complete SARS-CoV-2 genomes during the exponential growth phase of the early epidemiological curve in Mexico, in April 2020. Patients were categorized under distinct disease severity outcomes: mild disease or ambulatory care, severe disease or hospitalized, and deceased. To reduce bias related to risk factors, the patients were less than 60 years old and with no diagnosed comorbidities A trait-association phylogenomic approach was used to explore genotype-phenotype associations, represented by the co-occurrence of mutations, disease severity outcome categories, and clusters of Mexican sequences. Phylogenetic results revealed a higher genomic diversity compared to the initial viruses detected during the early stage of the local epidemic. We identified a total of 90 single nucleotide variants compared to the Wuhan-Hu-1 genome, including 54 nonsynonymous mutations. We did not find evidence for the co-occurrence of mutations associated with specific disease outcomes. Therefore, in the group of patients studied, disease severity was likely mainly driven by the host genetic background and other demographic factors.

Interestingly, the diastereoselective outcome depends on the stereochemistry of the chiral center at the C‐4 position of the oxazole moiety. The stereoselectivities were consistent even for aliphatic aldehydes.

The current role of the “Green Chemistry Protocol” in multicomponent reactions is first highlighted. Then, the green approach to the production of three novel hybrid diindolylmethanes-phenylboronic ...acids via a 3MCR is discussed, which features the following: solventless conditions, the use of microwave irradiation to activate the reactions, the absence of catalyst, and an efficient atom economy. The products were achieved with moderate yields (41–61%) within a short time frame (5 min) and appropriately characterized by elemental analysis and spectroscopic methods (NMR: 1H, 13C, 11B; MS: EI, CI, FAB+, HRMS). During the FAB+ MS determinations, various artifacts that are associated with the boron atom via an interaction with thioglycerol from the matrix were noted in the corresponding FAB+ mass spectra; in addition, the accurate mass determination of these adducts unequivocally confirmed the presence of the target molecules. Moreover, the activity of these target molecules was evaluated in the presence of six cancer cell lines (U251 = glia of the central nerve system, PC-3 = prostate, K562 = leukemia, HCT-15 = colon, MCF-7 = breast, and SKLU-1 = lung), which resulted in the meta-regioisomer being the most active. Finally, the products were also analyzed using computational chemistry in order to determine their most stable geometries and reactivities by computing the respective molecular electrostatic potentials.
Objetivo: Indagar las estrategias de afrontamiento e impacto personal del consumo de sustancias psicoactivas ilícitas en pacientes internos en rehabilitación. Material y métodos: El estudio fue ...cualitativo, de tipo fenomenológico, de corte transversal, realizado en una población de ocho pacientes en rehabilitación a través de la entrevista a profundidad. Los pacientes aplicaban estrategias de afrontamiento cognitivo-conductuales: control y programación de actividades, centradas en el problema. Resultados: Se encontró que el consumo de sustancias psicoactivas ilícitas tuvo un impacto personal, especialmente en la relación entre familiares y amistades, en el ámbito académico y laboral. Predominaron las alteraciones neurológicas. Las técnicas de distracción buscan cambiar malos hábitos e integrar actividades para mejorar su estilo de vida centradas en disminuir el consumo de drogas. Conclusiones: Buscar apoyo social cuando se está hospitalizado es beneficioso porque cambia la forma en que los pacientes piensan y perciben el mundo. Ellos consideran a Dios como la única salida a la adicción. El consumo prolongado de sustancias psicoactivas implica un riesgo de conductas adictivas y drogodependencia.
