The objective of this study is to analyse the impact of perceived risk on intention to travel in the Covid-19 pandemic situation. Applying the Theory of Planned Behaviour, the study addresses the ...modulating effects of risk on the antecedents of intention; additionally, the resulting model includes the impact of this intention on the willingness to pay (WTP) more to benefit from additional safety measures at the destination. Furthermore, this paper addresses respondents belonging to an at-risk group for Covid-19 as a source of heterogeneity that may exert an effect on the results of the model. The model is tested using PLS-SEM, and the empirical results can contribute to the development of safety measures in tourism services and the design of effective actions to restore tourism.
The Rimac river is the main source of water for Lima, Peru's capital megacity. The river is constantly affected by different types of contamination including mine tailings in the Andes and urban ...sewage in the metropolitan area. In this work, we aim to produce the first characterization of aquatic bacterial communities in the Rimac river using a 16S rRNA metabarcoding approach which would be useful to identify bacterial diversity and potential understudied pathogens. We report a lower diversity in bacterial communities from the Lower Rimac (Metropolitan zone) in comparison to other sub-basins. Samples were generally grouped according to their geographical location. Bacterial classes Alphaproteobacteria, Bacteroidia, Campylobacteria, Fusobacteriia, and Gammaproteobacteria were the most frequent along the river. Arcobacter cryaerophilus (Campylobacteria) was the most frequent species in the Lower Rimac while Flavobacterium succinicans (Bacteroidia) and Hypnocyclicus (Fusobacteriia) were the most predominant in the Upper Rimac. Predicted metabolic functions in the microbiota include bacterial motility and quorum sensing. Additional metabolomic analyses showed the presence of some insecticides and herbicides in the Parac-Upper Rimac and Santa Eulalia-Parac sub-basins. The dominance in the Metropolitan area of Arcobacter cryaerophilus, an emergent pathogen associated with fecal contamination and antibiotic multiresistance, that is not usually reported in traditional microbiological quality assessments, highlights the necessity to apply next-generation sequencing tools to improve pathogen surveillance. We believe that our study will encourage the integration of omics sciences in Peru and its application on current environmental and public health issues.

Previous literature has found underlying differences in purchasing behaviors, consumption habits, and Internet and social media usage between Generation X and Millennials. The activities and how ...users engage with consumer advice made by popular social media personalities can differ according to their age. Recent studies have shown that trust in the message transmitted by influencers is a critical factor in explaining the impact of consumer recommendations on their followers. However, so far there is little evidence of the possible variation according to the generational cohort to which they belong. This paper attempts to fill this gap by reviewing theoretical contributions on the relationships between perceived trustworthiness, perceived risk, product involvement, and purchase intention. Next, we proposed an exploratory model that analyzes the differences through partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with multigroup analysis. The resulting hypotheses were tested on a sample of 116 Millennial and 135 Generation X influencer followers. The results confirmed moderating effects of the generational cohort on message credibility and purchase intention, as well as on Millennials’ risk perception. Additionally, social norm and gender were analyzed, and heterogeneity was found according to the level of social norm of the followers.
Objective
To investigate the effect of an Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program on complications and length of stay (LOS) after radical cystectomy (RC) and to assess if the number and type ...of components of ERAS play a key role on the decrease of surgical morbidity.
Materials and methods
We analyzed the data of 277 patients prospectively recruited in 11 hospitals undergoing RC initially managed according to local practice (Group I) and later within an ERAS program (Group II). Two main outcomes were defined: 90-day complications rate and LOS. As secondary variables we studied 90-day mortality, 30-day readmission and transfusion rate.
Results
Patients in Group II had a higher use of ERAS measures (98.6%) than those in Group I (78.2%) (
p
< 0.05). Patients in Groups I and II experienced similar complications (70.5% vs. 66%,
p
= 0.42). LOS was not different between Groups I and II (12.5 and 14 days, respectively,
p
= 0.59). The risk of having any complication decreases for patients having more than 15 ERAS measures adopted RR = 0.815; 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.667–0.996;
p
= 0.045. Avoidance of transfusion and nasogastric tube, prevention of ileus, early ambulation and a fast uptake of a regular diet are independently associated with the absence of complications.
Conclusions
Complications and LOS after RC were not modified by the introduction of an ERAS program. We hypothesize that at least 15 measures should be applied to maximize the benefit of ERAS
The degradation of two immobilized dyes by
Klebsiella sp. UAP-b5 was studied. In batch experiments, the azo dyestuffs Basic Blue 41 and Reactive Black 5 were immobilized onto corn cobs by adsorption, ...and the adsorption process was characterized by a pseudo-second-order kinetic equation.
Klebsiella sp. UAP-b5 was previously isolated from the corn waste and shown to decolorize these dyes in liquid systems. Here, we demonstrate anaerobic decolorization and reductive biodegradation of these dyes by means of spectrophotometry, HPLC, and IR spectroscopy of the solid waste and desorption solutions. We also demonstrate adsorption of compounds that resemble known degradation products.
The literature on company networks is based on analyses of qualitative and strategic aspects but lacks empirical studies that compare the Individual economic results of the participating companies. ...This study involves a comparative analysis of accounting information over a six-year period for Mercadona (the largest Spanish retailer in terms of turnover) and its suppliers. The company studied uses a business model similar to the Japanese keiretsu, which is based on achieving a balance in terms of satisfying the expectations of all its stakeholders. In this paper, we analyse whether Mercadona's success has been shared with its suppliers by studying the evolution of performance, growth and employment indicators for the distributor and 87 of its stable suppliers (which account for 79% of all the companies considered integrated suppliers to Mercadona), just before it made a strategic change in this regard.
A random transposition mutant library of
UAPS07070 was analyzed for searching mutants with impaired microbial antagonism. Three derivates showed diminished antimicrobial activity against a sensitive ...strain. The mutated loci showed high similarity to the quorum sensing genes of the AHL-synthase and its regulator. Another mutant was affected in a gene coding for a LysrR-type transcriptional regulator. The production of toxoflavin, the most well known antimicrobial-molecule and a major virulence factor of plant-pathogenic
and
was explored. The absence of a yellowish pigment related to toxoflavin and the undetectable transcription of
in the mutants indicated the participation of the QS system and of the LysR-type transcriptional regulator in the regulation of toxoflavin. Additionally, those genes were found to be related to the swarming phenotype. Lettuce inoculated with the AHL synthase and the lysR mutants showed less severe symptoms. We present evidence of the participation of both, the quorum sensing and for the first time, of a LysR-type transcriptional regulator in antibiosis and swarming phenotype in a strain of
Human papillomavirus (HPV) is considered the aetiological agent for cervical cancer. Several reports have addressed a relationship with HPV and breast cancer, as different HPVs have been identified. ...The purpose of this study was to detect HPV DNA in 67 breast cancer patients and 40 non-malignant disease breast tissues by means of Polymerase Chain Reaction with consensus primers. The frequency of HPV in the cases group were 4.4% (3/67) and no positive samples among the reference group were identified. From the 3 positive samples, HPV types 16, 18 and 33 were identified by restriction patterns and direct sequencing. The high diversity among detection in the related studies shows that population genomic heterogeneity plays an important role in the disease. The low frequency detected in the present study suggests that HPV does not play an important role in breast cancer.

Bibliometric studies of entrepreneurship as a discipline have contributed fundamentally to the creation of a certain order in an apparently chaotic and contradictory literature, examining how the ...discipline has developed, giving a comprehensive vision of the structure of the field, observing its social networks, detecting trends, discovering knowledge gaps and helping to plan future research lines. The purpose of this article is to explore this special type of research. In terms of methodology, it uses an adaptation of the Systematic Literature Review, and a content analysis using text-mining software in order to look deeper into objectives, conclusions and limitations. Among the main findings, there is some evidence that indicates that the image presented to date about entrepreneurship has not considered the multidisciplinary nature of the field and could, therefore, be distorted. At the same time, a series of inherent problems have been detected, and it has become evident that there is a need to incorporate the latest advances in bibliometrics and to improve collaboration between experts from both fields in order to solve those mentioned issues and move towards future progress.
