This paper focuses on the processes of school-to-work transitions in a selected group of countries from South-eastern Europe (SEE), namely: Bosnia and Herzegovina; Croatia; Montenegro; North ...Macedonia; Serbia; and, Slovenia. Each of these countries display the same roots of development in their educational systems: however, due to their transition and integration processes within the European Union, they implemented different concepts of reforms within their educational systems. In addition, the challenges of youth employability are a common problem for each of the selected countries, and the effectiveness of the processes of school-to-work-transition varies across the countries. By using panel data and multiple linear regression models, this paper estimates the impact of different educational levels on youth employability and changes in the rates of NEET population (aged 15–24) in the selected group of countries over the period 2009 to 2019. The results suggest that the impact of the attained level of education has an ambiguous effect on the rates of youth employment; moreover, the relationship with changes in NEET rates are statistically significant and negative in most of the selected group of countries.
This paper provides insights into the recreational function of green areas and visitors' habits in the City of Zagreb. The research is based on a conducted survey of 491 visitors, during the working ...week and weekends at three different green spaces: Zrinjevac (an example of a park in the city centre), Jarun (an example of a recreation and sports zone in the city’s periphery) and the square Trg Ivana Kukuljevića (an example of a neighbourhood park in the residential area Špansko). Apart from descriptive statistics, the results were obtained by the following statistical tools: chi-square test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and t-test. Based on the differences determined, different types of green spaces in the city were highlighted and their recreational function was closely considered. The research outcomes indicate that there is a correlation between different types of green spaces, their recreational functions and reasons for choosing a particular green space for recreational purposes from the visitors’ point of view. The results can contribute to a better understanding of visitor habits and mobilities geared toward specific types of green spaces in Zagreb on a workday and a non-working day. They can be applied to achieving a higher quality conceptualisation of recreation supply of green spaces, as well as to the process of spatial planning and design of urban recreational zones.

Starting from the fact that the transport mode choice is one of those aspects of travel behaviour that, to a great extent, affects the efficiency of the transport system, this paper analyses the ...factors that contribute to the use of public and car transport. The goals of the analysis were to obtain insight into the preferences for using these two modes of transport in Croatia and find out to which extent the basic demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the respondents affect the usage of car and public transport and the possibility of taking trips by these transport modes. The paper analyses the data collected by surveys on a representative national sample. The results show that in Croatia, the number of people who frequently use public transport is far fewer than the number of frequent users of passenger car transport. However, the comparison has found that the number of frequent public transport users varies significantly among certain categories of respondents. Using binary logistic regression analysis has determined that the preferences towards the frequent use of car or public transport are significantly influenced by the age of the respondents, size of the settlement, accessibility of the destinations by public transport, the number of vehicles in the household and whether the respondent is the main car user in the household.
The aim of this paper is to analyse and explain the impact of air transportation on the development of tourism in the Croatian littoral. The analysis was made by using the data collected from flight ...schedules and airport authorities. The data on frequency of lines and number of passengers were analysed in order to correlate the distribution of the number of passengers with the number of tourists during the year. In this case, the correlation between the number of passengers and the number of arrivals/number of overnight stays is observed. Data for the time period from 2008 till 2010 were analysed in more detail by dividing the passengers into four categories: full-service passengers, low-cost passengers, charter passengers and general aviation passengers. Major touristic markets are identified on the basis of the number of connections between European and Croatian littoral airports. The last part of the paper deals with the increasing impact of low-cost services on the development of tourism in the Croatian littoral region. This is due to the fact that low-cost carriers have accounted for a considerable part of air transport in the last few years.
Cilj je ovog rada analizirati i utvrditi utjecaj zračnog prometa na turizam Primorske Hrvatske pretežito uz korištenje podataka dobivenih iz zračnih luka i redova letenja. Tom se prilikom analiziraju ...podatci o broju putnika u zračnim lukama i zračnim pristaništima posljednjih godina te se stavljaju u korelaciju s brojem dolazaka turista i brojem ostvarenih noćenja. Tu se uočava međuovisnost broja prevezenih putnika i broja dolazaka turista, odnosno broja ostvarenih noćenja tijekom godine. Podatci se detaljnije razrađuju za godine 2008., 2009. i 2010., kada se broj putnika u zračnim lukama i zračnim pristaništima po mjesecima diferencira u četiri kategorije: putnici prevezeni konvencionalnim zračnim prijevoznicima, low-cost zračnim prijevoznicima, čarterima i generalnim zrakoplovstvom. Osim toga, na osnovi podataka o ostvarenim vezama između europskih i zračnih luka Primorske Hrvatske, definiraju se emitivna turistička tržišta. U radu se poseban naglasak stavlja na utvrđivanje značenja niskotarifnih zračnih prijevoznika u turizmu Primorske Hrvatske. Razlog tome je što niskotarifni zračni prijevoznici posljednjih godina čine sve značajniji segment cjelokupnoga zračnog prometa.

This paper outlines all the criteria that affect the implementation of equity fare system in integrated public transport, as well as their correlation and impact on the implementation itself.
Rad se bavi problematikom prometne marginaliziranosti s ciljem opsežnijeg prikaza teorijskih postavki prometne marginaliziranosti kao doprinosa boljem razumijevanju navedene problematike i budućim ...istraživanjima u okviru prometne geografije i prometnog planiranja. Prometna marginaliziranost označuje pojavu koja može zahvatiti i ljude i prostore, a javlja se ako su mobilnost i dostupnost otežane, ograničene ili onemogućene. Na temelju ekstenzivnog prikupljanja i proučavanja relevantne znanstvene i stručne literature u prvom se dijelu rada predstavljaju definicije prometne marginaliziranosti, nakon toga se prikazuju razni aspekti utjecaja prometne marginaliziranosti na prostor i društvo, dok se na kraju rada opisuju posljedice prometne marginaliziranosti. Prometna marginaliziranost može dovesti i do socijalne isključenosti te bi zbog toga morala postati sastavni dio socijalne politike i prometnog planiranja.
Mogućnost upravljanja automobilom smatra se važnim segmentom u životima ljudi. Osobe koje iz određenih razloga nemaju mogućnost upravljanja automobilom u znanstvenoj se literaturi vrlo često smatraju ...prometno marginaliziranim osobama. Prometna marginaliziranost može utjecati na pristupanje životnim prilikama i mogućnostima. Cilj ovoga rada je ispitati utjecaj prometne marginaliziranosti na svakodnevni život srednjoškolske populacije Grada Zagreba. Istraživanje se temelji na korištenju subjektivnih pokazatelja prometne marginaliziranosti i to putem korištenja metode vlastite procjene prometnih problema i fokus grupa. Podaci su dobiveni anketnim ispitivanjem 826 učenika srednjih škola Grada Zagreba te provođenjem osam fokus grupa. Učenici srednjih škola procjenjivali su utjecaj prometnih problema s aspekta važnosti i stupnja težine kojim ih rješavaju. Analizom podataka dobiveni su podaci koji pokazuju statistički značajne razlike između učenica i učenika što može upućivati na jaču prometnu marginaliziranost djevojaka (žena) u odnosu na mladiće (muškarce). Dobiveni podaci potkrijepljeni su navodima proizašlim iz uporabe metode fokus grupa.
The ability to drive a vehicle is seen as an important segment of human life. Individuals who do not have the possibility to drive a vehicle – for any given number of reasons – are often considered ...in the scientific literature as transport disadvantaged persons. Transport disadvantage can impact on access to many opportunities. The objective of this paper is to examine the influence of transport disadvantage on the daily life of high school population in the City of Zagreb. The research was based on the use of subjective indicators of transport disadvantage and on a self-reported measure of transport issues, as well as through the work of focus groups. The data were obtained in a survey of 826 high school students in the City of Zagreb, and with the participation of eight focus groups. High school students assessed the influence of transport issues based on the aspects of importance of issues in their lives and the degree of difficulty needed to overcome these issues. The analysis indicates that there is a statistically significant difference between male and female students, which could suggest a more prominent transport disadvantage for girls compared to boys. The collected data were also supported by claims obtained by the focus group method.
