In this case, the measurement of geodynamic deformations looks like a parallel product of long-term observations dictated by the task of the blind search for gravitational waves (GW) of extraterrestrial origin. Compared to conventional laser strain meters, gravitational interferometers have the advantage of an increased absolute value of the deformation signal due to the 3–4
km baseline. The magnitude of the tidal variations of the baseline is 150–200
microns, leading to conceive the observation of the fine structure of geodynamic disturbances. This paper presents the results of processing geophysical measurements made on a Virgo interferometer during test (technical) series of observations in 2007–2009.
The specific design of mass-mirrors suspensions in the Virgo gravitational interferometer also creates a unique possibility of separating gravitational and deformation perturbations through a recording mutual angular deviations of the suspensions of its central and end mirrors. It gives a measurement of the spatial derivative of the gravity acceleration along with the geoid of the Earth. In this mode, the physics of the interferometer is considered with estimates of the achievable sensitivity in the application to the classical problem of registration of oscillations of the inner Earth’s core.
Tandem repeats (periodicities) constitute a significant part of the genomes of various organisms. They are often used as molecular markers in problems of differentiation of related objects. As such, ...bacteria of pseudotuberculosis and plague are considered. Genetically, the pathogen causing plague, Yersinia pestis, is very similar to Yersinia pseudotuberculosis. A comparison is made of the full spectra of periodicities in the genomes of bacteria of both species. Their general and species-specific features have been identified, confirming the high classification potential of the used object description.
The formation of locally strained Ge microstructures (microbridges) on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrates embedded into cavities and the results of studies of the optical properties of such ...structures are reported. A cavity design compatible with the geometry of the locally strained active region is calculated so that it provides, on the one hand, efficient localization of the electromagnetic field in the active region of the structure and, on the other hand, minimizes the influence of the cavity on the magnitude and distribution of strains in the structure. The experimentally obtained microphotoluminescence spectra demonstrate a considerable increase of the signal intensity from the strained regions of Ge microstructures compared to the initial Ge film. It is shown that the formation of cavities yields a reduction of strains in Ge microbridges, but provides an increase of the photoluminescence intensity of the structures.

The practice of using recycled concrete from the broken concrete of substandard reinforced concrete products can become widespread in practice. The undoubted relevance of this topic is explained by ...the program for the renovation of the housing stock in the city of Moscow, which provides for the demolition of 5-storey residential buildings until 2032. The problem of recycling and reuse of construction waste becomes obvious to improve the environmental situation, as well as to reduce the cost of materials in construction and preserve natural resources. The article deals with the nanostructuring of cement systems by means of introduction of ultra- and nanodispersed mineral additives. In this case, additional grinding of mineral additives is carried out in cavitation units. Nanostructuring provides the compaction of concrete structures and an increase in the strength properties of concrete.
Abstract
In the genomes of different organisms, there are periodicities, i.e. fragments of DNA (RNA)-sequences formed by tandem repetition of the basic monomer (period). The spectra of periodicities ...with lengths exceeding the ‘noise’ threshold are quite compact and visible even for complete genomes. This makes them an acceptable tool for differentiating closely related objects. The objects of analysis in this work are the periodicities at genomes of three species of coronavirus: MERS, SARS, and SARS-CoV-2. It has been shown that there are markers in the form of periodicities that make it possible to distinguish between these species of coronaviruses. None of the periodicities identified in the genomes of the MERS species (except for the poly-a tract in the 3‘UTR) is found in the genomes of SARS and SARS-CoV-2 and vice versa. Revealed periodicities common to SARS and SARS-CoV-2, as well as inherent only to genomes of one species. The number of periodicities in SARS and SARS-CoV-2 significantly exceeds the number of periodicities in random sequences. The periodicities found in almost all genomes of only ‘their’ species are of the greatest interest in terms of revealing the pathogenic potential of the virus.
The results on the formation of locally strained Ge microstructures on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrates and investigation of their optical properties are presented. Suspended Ge structures are ...formed by optical lithography and plasmachemical and selective chemical etching using the “stress concentration” approach. To provide a heat sink from Ge microstructures, their formation scheme is modified so as to provide the mechanical contact of a part of the suspended microstructure with lower-lying layers. To implement this scheme, SOI substrates with a thin upper Si layer 100 nm in thickness are used. It is shown using the measurements of Raman spectra depending on the pumping power that local heating in such structures decreases. Measurements of the microphotoluminescence spectra show a considerable increase in the signal intensity from strained regions of Ge microstructures as well as the possibility of increasing the maximal optical pumping power (not leading to irreversible changes) for microstructures, in which the mechanical contact of the strained part with lower-lying layers is provided, when compared with suspended structures.
The results of geodesic acoustic mode (GAM) studies in the spherical torus Globus-M via Doppler reflectometry are presented. The intermittent character of the GAM evolution is similar to the ...limit-cycle oscillation behavior of zonal flows. The evident correlation between the GAM rotational velocity and both Dα emission and plasma density oscillations is exhibited and discussed. The obtained experimental results are compared with those from tokamaks with large aspect ratios.
