Spectral or spatial dictionary has been widely used in fusing low-spatial-resolution hyperspectral (LH) images and high-spatial-resolution multispectral (HM) images. However, only using spectral ...dictionary is insufficient for preserving spatial information, and vice versa. To address this problem, a new LH and HM image fusion method termed OTD using optimized twin dictionaries is proposed in this paper. The fusion problem of OTD is formulated analytically in the framework of sparse representation, as an optimization of twin spectral-spatial dictionaries and their corresponding sparse coefficients. More specifically, the spectral dictionary representing the generalized spectrums and its spectral sparse coefficients are optimized by utilizing the observed LH and HM images in the spectral domain; and the spatial dictionary representing the spatial information and its spatial sparse coefficients are optimized by modeling the rest of high-frequency information in the spatial domain. In addition, without non-negative constraints, the alternating direction methods of multipliers (ADMM) are employed to implement the above optimization process. Comparison results with the related state-of-the-art fusion methods on various datasets demonstrate that our proposed OTD method achieves a better fusion performance in both spatial and spectral domains.
To generate a high-spatial-resolution hyperspectral (HHS) image from a high-spatial-resolution multispectral (HMS) image, both spatial information and spectral information should be considered ...simultaneously if we want to build a more accurate mapping from HMS to HHS. To this end, a spectral and spatial jointed spectral super-resolution method is proposed in this letter using an end-to-end learning strategy for each subspace with the cluster-based multibranch backpropagation neural network (BPNN). More specifically, in addition to the spectra similarity, a modified superpixel segmentation is introduced to jointly take spatial contextual information into account, and a new framework with it is given. Comparisons on the Columbia University Automated Vision Environment (CAVE) data set show that our proposed method outperforms other relative state-of-the-art methods more than 0.3 in the root mean squared error (RMSE) and more than 1.0 in the spectral angle mapper (SAM) index. Especially, an exemplary application is demonstrated using the synchronized observation data collected by the multispectral and hyperspectral sensors mounted on the HJ-1A satellite at the same time.
Highlights • Meta-analysis of 11 studies to assess the efficacy and safety of continuous infusion of vancomycin (CIV) versus intermittent infusion of vancomycin (IIV) in adult patients with ...infections. • Patients treated with CIV had a significantly lower incidence of nephrotoxicity compared with those receiving IIV. No significant difference in treatment failure was detected. Mortality between patients receiving CIV and those receiving IIV was similar. • Meta-analysis showed that CIV had superior safety compared with IIV, whilst clinical efficacy showed no significant difference. • Well-designed multicentre RCTs are needed to determine whether CIV has an advantage in the treatment of infection.
Distributed photovoltaics in living environment harvest the sunlight in different incident angles throughout the day. The development of planer solar cells with large light-receiving angle can reduce ...the requirements in installation form factor and is therefore urgently required. Here, thin film organic photovoltaics with nano-sized phase separation integrated in micro-sized surface topology is demonstrated as an ideal solution to proposed applications. All-polymer solar cells, by means of a newly developed sequential processing, show large magnitude hierarchical morphology with facilitated exciton-to-carrier conversion. The nano fibrilar donor-acceptor network and micron-scale optical field trapping structure in combination contributes to an efficiency of 19.06% (certified 18.59%), which is the highest value to date for all-polymer solar cells. Furthermore, the micron-sized surface topology also contributes to a large light-receiving angle. A 30% improvement of power gain is achieved for the hierarchical morphology comparing to the flat-morphology devices. These inspiring results show that all-polymer solar cell with hierarchical features are particularly suitable for the commercial applications of distributed photovoltaics due to its low installation requirement.
A novel silver-mediated highly selective C-H/N-H oxidative cross-coupling/cyclization between 2-aminopyridines and terminal alkynes has been demonstrated. This approach provided a simple way to ...construct heteroaromatic imidazo1,2-apyridines. By using this protocol, the marketed drug zolimidine (antiulcer) could be synthesized easily.
Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.), one of the most economically important leaf vegetables, exhibits early bolting under high-temperature conditions. Early bolting leads to loss of commodity value and ...edibility, leading to considerable loss and waste of resources. However, the initiation and molecular mechanism underlying early bolting induced by high temperature remain largely elusive.
In order to better understand this phenomenon, we defined the lettuce bolting starting period, and the high temperature (33 °C) and controlled temperature (20 °C) induced bolting starting phase of proteomics is analyzed, based on the iTRAQ-based proteomics, phenotypic measurement, and biological validation by RT-qPCR. Morphological and microscopic observation showed that the initiation of bolting occurred 8 days after high-temperature treatment. Fructose accumulated rapidly after high-temperature treatment. During initiation of bolting, of the 3305 identified proteins, a total of 93 proteins exhibited differential abundances, 38 of which were upregulated and 55 downregulated. Approximately 38% of the proteins were involved in metabolic pathways and were clustered mainly in energy metabolism and protein synthesis. Furthermore, some proteins involved in sugar synthesis were differentially expressed and were also associated with energy production.
This report is the first to report on the metabolic changes involved in the initiation of bolting in lettuce. Our study suggested that energy metabolism and ribosomal proteins are pivotal components during initiation of bolting. This study could provide a potential regulatory mechanism for the initiation of early bolting by high temperature, which could have applications in the manipulation of lettuce for breeding.

A phenylhexyl isothiocyanate (PITC) precolumn derivatization quantitative analysis of multicomponents by a single marker (QAMS) strategy for the simultaneous analysis of 20 free amino acids (FAA) in ...Dendrobium huoshanense is proposed. The method was validated by the linearity, limit of detection (LDO), and limit of quantitation (LOQ), recovery, precision, and stability. The results showed that when applying the established method, the LOQ of the FFAs was lower than 1 ng/ml except threonine (1.32 ng) and cysteine (1.16 ng). The QAMS investigation revealed that, using any one of the 20 FAAs as the reference internal standard, no significant differences were observed between the external standard method and the QAMS method for the quantification of FAAs in D. huoshanense by PITC precolumn derivatization The relative standard deviation (RSD, %) by QAMS and ESM were all below 5%. HPLC fingerprint investigation combined with similar analysis (the similarity values for S1–S25 were >0.875) and quality fluctuation analysis showed that the cultivation environment might have a great effect on the accumulation of FAAs in D. huoshanense. Overall, our study showed that we might increase the accuracy and scope of the simultaneous quantification of multicomponents using the QAMS technique by being derivatized with a strong UV absorbing group, and QAMS combined with chromatographic fingerprinting can be considered good quality criteria for the quality control of D. huoshanense and may provide analytical technical support for research on Maillard Reaction during the further processing of D. huoshanense.
Six new C-20 and one new C-19 quassinoids, named perforalactones F-L (1–7), were isolated from twigs of Harrisonia perforata. Spectroscopic and X-ray crystallographic experiments were conducted to ...identify their structures. Through oxidative degradation of perforalactone B to perforaqussin A, the biogenetic process from C-25 quassinoid to C-20 via Baeyer–Villiger oxidation was proposed. Furthermore, the study evaluated the anti-Parkinson’s disease potential of these C-20 quassinoids for the first time on 6-OHDA-induced PC12 cells and a Drosophila Parkinson’s disease model of PINK1B9. Perforalactones G and I (2 and 4) showed a 10–15% increase in cell viability of the model cells at 50 μM, while compounds 2 and 4 (100 μM) significantly improved the climbing ability of PINK1B9 flies and increased the dopamine level in the brains and ATP content in the thoraces of the flies.
Osteoporosis (OP) is one of the most common bone diseases worldwide, characterized by low bone mineral density and susceptibility to pathological fractures, especially in postmenopausal women and ...elderly men. Ferroptosis is one of the newly discovered forms of cell death regulated by genes in recent years. Many studies have shown that ferroptosis is closely related to many diseases. However, there are few studies on ferroptosis in osteoporosis, and the mechanism of ferroptosis in osteoporosis is still unclear. This study aims to identify biomarkers related to osteoporosis ferroptosis from the GEO (Gene Expression Omnibus) database through bioinformatics technology, and to mine potential therapeutic small molecule compounds through molecular docking technology, trying to provide a basis for the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis in the future.
We downloaded the ferroptosis-related gene set from the FerrDb database ( http://www.zhounan.org/ferrdb/index.html ), downloaded the data sets GSE56815 and GSE7429 from the GEO database, and used the R software "limma" package to screen differentially expressed genes (DEGs) from GSE56815, and intersected with the ferroptosis gene set to obtain ferroptosis-related DEGs. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis were performed by the R software "clusterProfiler" package. The random forest model was further screened to obtain essential ferroptosis genes. R software "corrplot" package was used for correlation analysis of essential ferroptosis genes, and the Wilcox test was used for significance analysis. The lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA-TF regulatory network was constructed using Cytoscape software. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) was used to construct a disease diagnosis model, and a Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was drawn to evaluate the diagnostic performance, and then GSE7429 was used to verify the reliability of the diagnosis model. Molecular docking technology was used to screen potential small molecule compounds from the Drugbank database. Finally, a rat osteoporosis model was constructed, and peripheral blood mononuclear cells were extracted for qRT-PCR detection to verify the mRNA expression levels of crucial ferroptosis genes.
Six DEGs related to ferroptosis were initially screened out. GO function and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis showed that ferroptosis-related DEGs were mainly enriched in signaling pathways such as maintenance of iron ion homeostasis, copper ion binding function, and ferroptosis. The random forest model identified five key ferroptosis genes, including CP, FLT3, HAMP, HMOX1, and SLC2A3. Gene correlation analysis found a relatively low correlation between these five key ferroptosis genes. The lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA-TF regulatory network shows that BAZ1B and STAT3 may also be potential molecules. The ROC curve of the disease diagnosis model shows that the model has a good diagnostic performance. Molecular docking technology screened out three small molecule compounds, including NADH, Midostaurin, and Nintedanib small molecule compounds. qRT-PCR detection confirmed the differential expression of CP, FLT3, HAMP, HMOX1 and SLC2A3 between OP and normal control group.
This study identified five key ferroptosis genes (CP, FLT3, HAMP, HMOX1, and SLC2A3), they were most likely related to OP ferroptosis. In addition, we found that the small molecule compounds of NADH, Midostaurin, and Nintedanib had good docking scores with these five key ferroptosis genes. These findings may provide new clues for the early diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis in the future.
Abstract
The determination of monosaccharides is crucial for studying the structure of polysaccharides and the composition of free monosaccharides in living organisms. Based on previous ...derivatization gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) methods, we aimed to develop a novel analytical protocol for better quantifying monosaccharides. In this study, sugar alcohol acetylation, saccharonitrile acetylation, silylation and a combination of sugar alcohols acetylation and saccharonitrile acetylation were compared. The optimal method was verified with the monosaccharide determination of four polysaccharides and four free monosaccharides from
Dendrobium
. The results showed that the novel combined derivatization method was superior to the other three methods in terms of content analysis of monosaccharides. Furthermore, it possessed good linearity (all calibration curves showed relative coefficients ≥ 0.999), sensitivity, precision (relative standard deviation < 2%), and accuracy (recovery, 95.7–105%). Finally, the novel method established in this study was successfully employed in determining the monosaccharide composition of four polysaccharides and four free monosaccharide samples from
Dendrobium
