Fuel is an important aspect in the operation of ships that require high costs. The high cost of fuel is not followed by an automatic fuel monitoring process. By not using the fuel consumption ...monitoring method that works automatically, the shipping management does not know for sure the ship's fuel consumption is in accordance with the shipping mileage, thus triggering fraud committed by the ship's crew against the ship's fuel. Fuel consumption monitoring is carried out primarily to identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs. By following technological developments, Internet of Things (IoT) technology has begun to be applied in various industrial fields because it can transmit data in real-time via the internet network without human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction. In this research, the design of models and experiments related to a monitoring system for fuel consumption was carried out using sensors and microcontrollers integrated with the internet to obtain accurate and real-time data. The test results show that the volume of fuel available in the tank, the volume of fuel discharged, the flow rate of fuel, and the location of the system can be known by the user in real-time via the IoT website. Based on the results of measurements using an ultrasonic level sensor, it is known that the measurement results are quite accurate with a deviation of ± 0.5 cm. Meanwhile, the measurement results by the flow sensor are less accurate because the fuel flow only relies on the force of gravity.
Abstract
According to data from the 2019 Ministry of Transportation Statistics Book, the number of national shipping fleets or ships in the country from 2015-2019 has doubled. However, from the ...potential of the current operating fleet, it shows that more than 75% of the fleet are over 20 years old. With such conditions, it is necessary to plan for ship maintenance and repairs to be as good as possible and to spend as little time as possible. This research aims to design a web-based intermediary application for ship repair planning services that can be accessed by using a website browser. The initial stage is to observe the condition of ship repair and planning from shipyard and shipowner perspectives through the literature and field study. From the result of the observation, then analyze what problems occur in the field and then arrange what functions or features are needed to be included in the design of the application to be able to solve these problems. Application design is done by making mock-ups, designing interfaces, creating databases and coding of the application system. After that, the application is tested and verified to find out that the application can run as intended and know the strengths and weaknesses of the application. The features in this application are designed to intermediary shipyard and shipowner in the ship repair planning process. The result of this preliminary web-based application design is by using this application, ship owners can search for docking space in available shipyards according to the schedule and place desired by the shipowner. In addition, by using this application, the shipowner can find out when the ship’s certificate expires so that they can prepare a schedule for conducting a survey. Then, both the shipyard and the shipowner can use this application to monitor and report on the progress of ship repair work.
Abstract
According to data 2018-2021 on the status of the National Transportation Safety Committee, the largest percentage of ship accidents (29%) in Indonesia are caused by fire or exploded. The ...main purpose of this research is to design a website-based application that can be accessed by phone to support ship crews in preventing and handling fires on board using a decision support system method, where the website-based application itself is an application that can be run using web and browser technology bases of internet or intranet. In the preparation of the research, first, observations were made on the cargo of dangerous goods transported by the container ship (MV. Sinar Penida). A website-based application for fire prevention and handling system is designed after making a mock-up. Application design is done by making mock-ups, designing interfaces, creating databases, and coding the application system. The features have been equipped with an emergency muster list, fire handling based on the class of cause, and a cargo separation feature based on the ship’s bay plan using the Decision Support System (DSS) method or decision support system that can increase the effectiveness in decision making.

Abstract
In the field of education, virtual reality has major advantages for the transfer of knowledge faster than conventional approaches and allows businesses to provide their workers with an ...efficient training program. By offering step-by-step guidance to create particular tasks, the Augmented Reality technology will assist during the training process. The knowledge in the AR application is made omnipresent, allowing the worker to be able to obtain the instructions with less effort, understandable and effective, avoiding the faults in the operation of the real ballast system. The process begins by evaluating the current components of the ballast system to understand how to incorporate augmented reality technology to boost the performance of the process. The ballast system is then made into a 3D model, including the proportional dimension and exact position of each part of the ballast system as mounted, and the potential real-world scenario. The outcome of this work is called the application of Ballast Component AR. A testing process is carried out to determine whether the application of augmented reality is prepared for implementation and preliminarily checked during the development stage. The AR framework is fully run and checked by the use of Android smartphones or tablets in the process. To evaluate input from users of the AR application, a questionnaire is used with defined parameters regarding the performance and the usefulness of the application.
Abstract
The closed cooling system is one of the systems that functioned to ensure the cooling water supply can be continuously distributed and ensure that the production process does not cause the ...equipment or products to overheat, which can result in failure to the equipment and affect the production process due to downtime repair. Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) is one of the methods that can be used to analyze the cause of failure, impact, and determination of appropriate and effective maintenance tasks. The purpose of this research is to identify potential failures, determine the maintenance task and determine the optimal maintenance schedule in the closed cooling system of a steam power plant by using the Reliability Centered Maintenance method. The results of analysis on the closed cooling pump, heat exchanger, expansion tank, minimum flow valve, and level control valve obtained a total of 155 failure modes, of which 73% of total failure modes were identified as an evident failure and 27% identified as a hidden failure. While the results of the maintenance task recommendation obtained a total of 155 maintenance tasks which consists of 5 maintenance task categories. They are 88 (57%) of total failure modes recommended to scheduled on condition task, 38 (24%) scheduled restoration task, 20 (13%) scheduled discard task, 3 (2%) schedule finding failure, and 6 (4%) of total failure modes recommended to no scheduled maintenance.
