Enabling dynamically tunable emissive systems offers opportunities for constructing smart materials. Clusteroluminescence, as unconventional luminescence, has attracted increasing attention in both ...fundamental and applied sciences. Herein, we report a supramolecular poly(disulfides) network with tunable clusteroluminescence. The reticular H‐bonds synergize the rigidity and mobility of dynamic networks, and endow the resulting materials with mechanical adaptivity and robustness, simultaneously enabling efficient clusteroluminescence and phosphorescence at 77 K. Orthogonally tunable luminescence are achieved in two manners, i.e., slow backbone disulfide exchange and fast side‐chain metal coordination. Further exploration of the reprocessability and chemical closed‐loop recycling of intrinsic dynamic networks for sustainable materials is feasible. We foresee that the synergistic strategy of dynamic chemistry offers a novel pathway and potential opportunities for smart emissive materials.
The dynamic synergy strategy provides a novel example of supramolecular dual‐tunable clusteroluminescence. The unique β‐sheet conformation endows materials with efficient luminescence as well as mechanical adaptivity and robustness. Moreover, dual dynamic polymeric networks provide an ideal platform for the orthogonal regulation of clusteroluminescence and chemical closed‐loop recycling.
Poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) based materials are widely considered as promising candidates of polymer hosts in solid-state electrolytes for high energy density secondary lithium batteries. They have ...several specific advantages such as high safety, easy fabrication, low cost, high energy density, good electrochemical stability, and excellent compatibility with lithium salts. However, the typical linear PEO does not meet the production requirement because of its insufficient ionic conductivity due to the high crystallinity of the ethylene oxide (EO) chains, which can restrain the ionic transition due to the stiff structure especially at low temperature. Scientists have explored different approaches to reduce the crystallinity and hence to improve the ionic conductivity of PEO-based electrolytes, including blending, modifying and making PEO derivatives. This review is focused on surveying the recent developments and issues concerning PEO-based electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries.

Aiming at the actual functional requirements of online teaching, the overall architecture of the Multimedia English online teaching platform is designed. In this architecture, the hardware of the data collector, memory, and main controller is deployed to build the platform. Based on the wireless network communication technology, the software modules are divided into two parts. It is made of a number of functional modules. The design of the platform functional modules is mainly based on the main functions of the administrator submodule, the teacher submodule, and the student submodule. At the same time, the weight of the indicators is determined by combining the analytic hierarchy process and the evaluation domain for the quality evaluation of Multimedia English online teaching is established. The level model completes the platform design. The experimental results show that the test results of the designed platform meet the expected goals and can effectively improve the quality and efficiency of Multimedia English online teaching. The teaching quality is always higher than 95%, and the average teaching efficiency is 96.27%.
The host immune response to bone biomaterials is vital in determining scaffold fates and bone regeneration outcomes. The nanometer-scale interface of biomaterials, which independently controls ...physical inputs to cells, regulates osteogenic differentiation of stem cells and local immune response. Herein, we fabricated biomimetic hierarchical intrafibrillarly mineralized collagen (HIMC) with a bone-like staggered nanointerface and investigated its immunomodulatory properties and mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) recruitment during endogenous bone regeneration. The acquired HIMC potently induced neo-bone formation by promoting CD68+CD163+ M2 macrophage polarization and CD146+STRO-1+ host MSC recruitment in critical-sized bone defects. Mechanistically, HIMC facilitated M2 macrophage polarization and interleukin (IL)-4 secretion to promote MSC osteogenic differentiation. An anti-IL4 neutralizing antibody significantly reduced M2 macrophage-mediated osteogenic differentiation of MSCs. Moreover, HIMC-loaded-IL-4 implantation into critical-sized mandible defects dramatically enhanced bone regeneration and CD68+CD163+ M2 macrophage polarization. The depletion of monocyte/macrophages by clodronate liposomes significantly impaired bone regeneration by HIMC, but did not affect MSC recruitment. Thus, in emulating natural design, the hierarchical nanointerface possesses the capacity to recruit host MSCs and promote endogenous bone regeneration by immunomodulation of macrophage polarization through IL-4.
Ferroptosis is a novel type of cell death with distinct properties and recognizing functions involved in physical conditions or various diseases including cancers. The fast-growing studies of ...ferroptosis in cancer have boosted a perspective for its usage in cancer therapeutics. Here, we review the current findings of ferroptosis regulation and especially focus on the function of ncRNAs in mediating the process of cell ferroptotic death and on how ferroptosis was in relation to other regulated cell deaths. Aberrant ferroptosis in diverse cancer types and tissues were summarized, and we elaborated recent data about the novel actors of some "conventional" drugs or natural compounds as ferroptosis inducers in cancer. Finally, we deliberate future orientation for ferroptosis in cancer cells and current unsettled issues, which may forward the speed of clinical use of ferroptosis induction in cancer treatment.
ARID1A, encoding a subunit of SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex, is widely recognized as a tumor suppressor gene in multiple tumor types including liver cancer. Previous studies have demonstrated ...that ARID1A deficiency can cause liver cancer metastasis, possibly due to the altered chromatin organization, however the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. To address the effect of Arid1a deficiency on chromatin organization, we generated chromatin interaction matrices, and exploited the conformation changes upon Arid1a depletion in hepatocytes. Our results demonstrated that Arid1a deficiency induced A/B compartment switching, topologically associated domain (TAD) remodeling, and decrease of chromatin loops. Further mechanism studies revealed that ATPase BRG1 of SWI/SNF complex could physically interact with RAD21, a structural subunit of chromatin architectural element cohesin; whereas ARID1A deficiency significantly diminished the coupled BRG1-RAD21. Interestingly, the tumor-associated genes within the switched compartments were differentially expressed depending upon Arid1a depletion or not. As a consequence of ARID1A deficiency-induced conformational alteration, the dysregulation of some genes such as PMP22 and GSC, promoted the invasion capacity of liver cancer cells. This study provides an insight into liver cancer tumorigenesis and progression related to ARID1A mutations.

We now report a strategy for histidine modification using thiophosphorodichloridate reagents that mimic post-translational histidine phosphorylation, enabling fast and selective labeling of protein histidines under mild conditions where various payloads can be introduced via copper-assisted alkyne–azide cycloaddition (CuAAC) chemistry. We establish that these reagents are particularly effective at covalent modification of His-tags, which are common motifs to facilitate protein purification, as illustrated by selective attachment of polyarginine cargoes to enhance the uptake of proteins into living cells. This work provides a starting point for probing and enhancing protein function using histidine-directed chemistry.
Abstract Objective We aimed to estimate the up-to-date prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MS) and its influencing factors among the Chinese adults. Methods Data were obtained from the China Health and ...Nutrition Survey conducted in 2009, which was a cross-sectional and partially nationally representative study including a total of 7488 Chinese adults (age ≥ 18 years). Results The overall age-standardized prevalence estimates of the MS were 21.3% (95%confidence interval (CI): 20.4%–22.2%), 18.2% (95%CI: 17.3%–19.1%) and 10.5% (95%CI: 9.8%–11.2%) based on definitions of revised NCEP ATPIII, IDF and CDS criteria, respectively. Individuals who were women (compared to men: odds ratio OR = 1.37, 95% CI = 1.16–1.61), 40 years or older (compared to less than 40 years old: OR = 2.82, 95%CI = 2.37–3.34 for 40–59 years; OR = 4.41, 95%CI = 3.68–5.29 for 60 years or older), overweight/obese (compared to normal weight: OR = 4.32, 95%CI = 3.77–4.95 for overweight; OR = 11.24, 95%CI = 9.53–13.26 for obese), and living in urban area (compared to living in rural area: OR = 1.27, 95%CI = 1.12–1.43) were more likely to have a higher prevalence estimate of MS. In addition, frequency of alcohol consumption and cigarette intake were also found to be significantly associated with probability of MS. Conclusions Our results suggest an urgent need to develop national strategies for the prevention, detection, treatment and control of obesity and MS in China.
The past three years have witnessed rapid growth in the field of organic solar cells (OSCs) based on non‐fullerene acceptors (NFAs), with intensive efforts being devoted to material development, ...device engineering, and understanding of device physics. The power conversion efficiency of single‐junction OSCs has now reached high values of over 18%. The boost in efficiency results from a combination of promising features in NFA OSCs, including efficient charge generation, good charge transport, and small voltage losses. In addition to efficiency, stability, which is another critical parameter for the commercialization of NFA OSCs, has also been investigated. This review summarizes recent advances in the field, highlights approaches for enhancing the efficiency and stability of NFA OSCs, and discusses possible strategies for further advances of NFA OSCs.
Significant progress has been made in non‐fullerene organic solar cells (OSCs) in recent years, including in materials development, device engineering, and mechanistic understanding. This review summarizes progress and offers some reflections on the emerging methods for enabling high efficiency and improved stability for non‐fullerene OSCs.
A growing body of research suggests that short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), metabolites produced by intestinal symbiotic bacteria that ferment dietary fibers (DFs), play a crucial role in the health ...status of symbiotes. SCFAs act on a variety of cell types to regulate important biological processes, including host metabolism, intestinal function, and immune function. SCFAs also affect the function and fate of immune cells. This finding provides a new concept in immune metabolism and a better understanding of the regulatory role of SCFAs in the immune system, which impacts the prevention and treatment of disease. The mechanism by which SCFAs induce or regulate the immune response is becoming increasingly clear. This review summarizes the different mechanisms through which SCFAs act in cells. According to the latest research, the regulatory role of SCFAs in the innate immune system, including in NLRP3 inflammasomes, receptors of TLR family members, neutrophils, macrophages, natural killer cells, eosinophils, basophils and innate lymphocyte subsets, is emphasized. The regulatory role of SCFAs in the adaptive immune system, including in T-cell subsets, B cells, and plasma cells, is also highlighted. In addition, we discuss the role that SCFAs play in regulating allergic airway inflammation, colitis, and osteoporosis by influencing the immune system. These findings provide evidence for determining treatment options based on metabolic regulation.
