The effect of heavy ions irradiation on the uniaxial magnetic anisotropy field, H A , of bubble garnet materials has been measured. The techniques of ferrimagnetic resonance (FMR) and stripe lattice ...resonance (SLR) were used in measuring changes in H A as a function of irradiation dosage levels, d. We find that the change in H A is directly proportional to d . λ/M, where λ is the saturated magnetostriction constant and M the magnetization of the garnet material. Thus, it is possible to tailor a garnet material precisely to a specific value of H A by irradiating it. This irradiation technique of changing H A should be applicable to a large class of ferrites.
Single crystal Y 3 Fe 5 O 12 films have been irradiated with 6 MeV/u xenon ions. The temperature dependence of the saturation magnetization indicates that the resulting nuclear tracks have a well ...defined diameter of 18 nm. The temperature dependence of the Faraday rotation of the irradiated compared to as-grown films shows a different behaviour at low temperatures. This is attributed to a deviation of the sublattice moments in the boundary region of the tracks. The FMR linewidth of one of the irradiated films exhibits a maximum centered at 40 K which is characteristic for Fe 2+ centers. 10 hours annealing at 793 K reduces this maximum drastically. Annealing experiments on a Gd 1.9 Bi 1.1 Fe 4.6 Ga 0.4 O 12 film irradiated with 3 × 10 11 cm -2 xenon ions of specific energy 1.4 MeV per nucleon yielded activation energies ranging from 0.9 eV up to 5 eV.
Autoimmune paraneoplastic processes are investigated in detail concerning the Lambert-Eaton-Myasthenic-Syndrome for bronchial carcinomas. For the cutaneous leukocytoclastic vasculitis as a ...non-ANCA-associated vasculitis the paraneoplastic genesis is described. Litttle is known about ANCA-associated vasculitis as a paraneoplastic autoimmune phenomenon. We present the case of a 62 year old woman referred to our hospital presenting air-space shadows mainly in both upper lobes, skin rash with petechial bleeding and a highly positive pANCA-titer. A bronchioloalveolar carcinoma was diagnosed by surgical biopsy. The patient developed renal failure postsurgically and died a few weeks after the diagnosis was established. This is the 5 (th) case in literature of the temporal concurrence of a bronchial carcinoma and an ANCA-associated vasculitis. So far only 24 cases of a solid tumor occuring simultaneously with an ANCA-positive vasculitis are reported in literature.

. Healing of the irradiated crystal volume becomes significant around 700 K with a higher jate for the substrate compared to the epitaxial film. At temperatures above 1300 K a decrease of the film lattice constant due to decomposition, preferentially in the irradiated areas is observed.
From the correspondence of the healing behavior of the irradiation induced lattice variation with that of the saturation magnetization, the Faraday rotation and the optical absorption it is inferred that the healing process occurs stepwise.
A coherent optical Fourier transform system is studied for which masks of curves only are used as input. A general theory for this problem is discussed, resulting in the functional connection between ...input and output data and limitations due to thickness, curvature, and extension of the curve. The general result can be simplified for a curve which represents a signal modulated by a carrier. In this case the Fourier transform of the signal can be found optically in first-order diffraction. The method is applied to interferogram curves arising in Fourier spectroscopy.

Methode:
Alle Patienten der 6 beteiligten Kliniken (Klinik Bad Reichenhall der DRV Bayern Süd, Bad Reichenhall; St. Georg Klinik, Höchenschwand; Ostseeklinik, Schönberg-Holm; MediClin Albert Schweitzer Klinik, Königsfeld; MEDIAN Klinik, Heiligendamm; Reha-Zentrum Todtmoos, Klinik Wehrawald) die während der einjährigen Einschlussphase (Januar 2011 bis Januar 2012) aufgrund der Erstdiagnose Sarkoidose zur stationären Rehabilitation aufgenommen wurden, wurden um Studienteilnahme gebeten, 280 willigten ein (> 95%). Erhoben wurden u.a. klinische Parameter zur körperlichen Leistungsfähigkeit (6-MWD), Spirometrie (VC, FEV1), Atemmuskulatur (Pi max.) zu den Zeitpunkten T0 (Reha-Beginn) und T1 (Reha-Ende) sowie weitere klinische Outcomes zur Lebensqualität (SGRQ), Dyspnoe (MRC-Score) und Fatigue mittels Fragebögen zusätzlich zu den Zeitpunkten T2, T3 & T4 (3, 6 & 12 Monate nach Reha).
Ergebnisse:
Ausgewertet sind bisher die Zeitpunkte T0 bis T2 (Mittelwerte ± Standardabweichung, *= p < 0,05 gegenüber T0).

Diskussion:
Die bisherigen Ergebnisse der ProKaSaRe-Studie dokumentieren signifikante, klinische relevante und, soweit erfasst, über ¼ Jahr anhaltende positive Effekte bzgl. der körperlichen Leistungsfähigkeit, der gesundheitsbezogenen Lebensqualität, der Dyspnoe, der Kapazität der Atemmuskelpumpe sowie der bei Sarkoidose oft klinisch führenden Fatigue.
Die Studie wird von der Deutschen Lungenstiftung e.V. und der Sarkoidose Stiftung gefördert.

Im Gegensatz zur Rehabilitation bei COPD ist die Datenlage zur Sarkoidose-Reha spärlich. Diese Lücke soll durch die prospektive, multizentrische Beobachtungsstudie ProKaSaRe*, die eine ...1-jährige Nachbeobachtungszeit einschließt, gefüllt werden.
Methode:
Alle Rehabilitanden der 6 beteiligten Kliniken 1,4,5,6,7,8 die ab Januar 2011 aufgrund der Erstdiagnose Sarkoidose zur stationären Rehabilitation aufgenommen werden, werden um Studienteilnahme gebeten. Es sollen mindestens 200 konsekutive Patienten eingeschlossen werden. Erhoben werden klinische Parameter zu den Zeitpunkten T0 (Reha-Beginn) und T1 (Reha-Ende) sowie weitere Informationen mittels pseudonymisierter Fragebögen zu den Zeitpunkten T2, T3 und T4 (3, 6 und 12 Monate nach Reha). Eine Zwischenauswertung zum Zeitpunkt T1 der ersten 100 konsekutiven Patienten beinhaltet ausgewählte Outcome-Parameter zur körperlichen Leistungsfähigkeit (6-MWD), Spirometrie (VC, FEV1), Atemmuskulatur (Pi max.) sowie zur Lebensqualität (SGRQ) und Dyspnoe (MRC-Score).
Ergebnisse:
