To evaluate the antinociceptive effect and the possible mechanism of action of two polar extracts of Mansoa alliacea, a medicinal plant used in Perú, Brazil, and Mexico to treat rheumatic pain, we ...used the formalin and hot-plate tests in mice. We found that ethanolic (MA-EtOH) and aqueous (MA-AQ) extracts of M. alliacea induced antinociceptive effects in both nociceptive tests. The antinociceptive efficacy of the highest dosage (300 mg/kg) of both extracts were also compared by using intraperitoneal and oral administration in the formalin test. Results showed that intraperitoneal injection of the two extracts produced better antinociceptive effects than that obtained by their oral administration. The mechanism of action involved in their antinociceptive activity was determined in the formalin test. Results showed that the presence of A784168 (TRPV1 antagonist) did not alter the antinociceptive effect induced by any of the M. alliacea extracts, whereas naltrexone (opioid antagonist) partially prevented the antinociceptive effect only of MA-EtOH in both phases of the formalin test. Furthermore, the effects of the extracts were diminished by L-NAME (inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase), but not by ODQ (inhibitor of the soluble guanylyl cyclase) or glibenclamide (blocker of K+ATP channels) in the neurogenic phase. However, the effect of MA-AQ was diminished by all the inhibitors in the inflammatory phase. These results support the use of M. alliacea as a potential natural product with efficacy for pain relief depending on the form of preparation and the route of administration by involving opioid receptors and the production of nitric oxide.

ABSTRACT
A proper news tagging is essential for a suitable search and retrieval of information by news libraries users, as well as for a suitable web SEO positioning of these media outlets, what is ...an aspect to take increasingly into account in digital journalism. Through a case study, we carried out a comparative exploratory analysis on how the most read Spanish online newspapers assign the tags which identify the informational content of their news, given the scarcity of this kind of empirical studies and the enormous importance of this task in the field of news librarianship. The resulting data demonstrate the need for specific training in news librarianship for journalists and the importance of educating media outlets in using controlled vocabularies to ensure an efficient retrieval of news in databases a posteriori.
ABSTRACT
In light of the dearth of empirical studies of the quality of the databases of Spanish digital newspapers, this paper delves into the issue. Accordingly, the databases of 55 Spanish digital ...general newspapers were examined for the purpose of determining the quality of their retrospective written news search engines and retrieval systems. The results indicate the following: (1) the vast majority of the databases analysed employ search models based exclusively on a calendar or text box, thus hindering the selective retrieval of information; (b) a large proportion of these databases do not allow users to employ several fields in order to filter and narrow down their searches; and (3) all the online news databases lack search guides and controlled vocabularies or thesauruses. From these finding it is possible to infer that the majority of the databases of the Spanish digital press are, as a rule, rudimentary and inefficient.
ABSTRACT
In the current context of state policies characterized by hefty budget cuts affecting film preservation, thus seriously jeopardizing our film heritage and clashing with the pronouncements ...made by the UNESCO in 1980, our intention here is to analyze two texts published in Paris in 1898 by the eulogizing, but otherwise unknown, Pole Boleslaw Matuszewski: A New Source of History and Animated Photography, What Is, What Should Be. Although they have not received the recognition that they deserve, both works were crucial to the history of film insofar as they would play a vital role in film preservation as a cultural heritage.
We carried out a bibliometric study on web activism, given their absence, for the period between 2007 and 2018, using as a source the Cibermov bibliographic database, created by the documentation ...service linked to the R&D project Cyber‐activism, digital citizenship and new urban movements, funded by the Government of Spain, as a tool for its members.
ABSTRACT
In the field of library and information science, content analysis is a crucial task for an effective retrieval of information by users at an archive. In this research, we analyse the current ...state of this task and the possibilities of retrieval of film information at six Spanish important film archives, interviewing their responsible librarians for film cataloguing and comparing the content fields inside their film cataloguing records used by each one of these six organizations.
Purpose. The selection of films that archivists carry out today has an important impact on the future configuration of digitalised and virtually accessible film collections. Given the responsibility ...that this task entails, we consider it interesting to explore what the different profiles of the users of film archives think about selection and digitisation of films.
Approach/Methodology/Design. To this end, structured interviews were conducted with 31 subjects belonging to four groups of users: film researchers, film professionals, journalists/ film critics, and last year audio-visual communication undergraduates from the Universityof Seville.
Findings. The most notable results, which do not differ in essence from what is known in the archival field, include, on the one hand, the unanimous view that digitisation is an effective way of conserving audio-visual memory and fostering public interest in film collections and archives and, on the other, that when films have to be selected for their digitisation, this should be done following rigorous and systematic selection criteria, thus avoiding the detrimental effects of random methods. Lastly, some future research lines are offered.
Originality/Value. All the bibliography consulted view topics relating to film selection and digitisation exclusively through the prism of archival and library and information sciences. Namely, these studies are restricted to these specific areas of knowledge and aimed at professional and experts in the field. For that reason, it may be interesting to explore other viewpoints and perspectives that go beyond purely technical, theoretical or methodological approach to film curation.
