Abstract We measured the Born cross sections for the process e + e − → ωη′ at 22 center-of-mass energies from 2.000 to 3.080 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. We observed a ...resonant structure with a statistical significance of 9.6σ. A Breit-Wigner fit determines its mass to be M R = (2153 ± 30 ± 31) MeV/c 2 and its width to be Γ R = (167 ± 77 ± 7) MeV, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic.
Using a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb−1 taken at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, we search for the Majorana neutrino (νm) in the lepton number violating decays ...D→Kπe+e+. No significant signal is observed, and the upper limits on the branching fraction at the 90% confidence level are set to be B(D0→K−π−e+e+)<2.8×10−6, B(D+→KS0π−e+e+)<3.3×10−6 and B(D+→K−π0e+e+)<8.5×10−6. The Majorana neutrino is searched for with different mass assumptions ranging from 0.25 to 1.0 GeV/c2 in the decays D0→K−e+νm,νm→π−e+ and D+→KS0e+νm,νm→π−e+, and the upper limits on the branching fraction at the 90% confidence level are at the level of 10−7 ~ 10−6, depending on the mass of the Majorana neutrino. The constraints on the mixing matrix element |Veνm|2 are also evaluated.
While an appropriate feed intake is crucial for the reproductive performance of sows, there is a lack of recommendations currently for feed allowance of Guangdong Small-ear Spotted gilts during ...gestation. The effects of 2 different feeding patterns during gestation on the reproductive performance of Guangdong Small-ear Spotted gilts were investigated by assigning 80 gilts to 2 feeding pattern groups with a randomized complete block design in accordance with initial body weight and back fat thickness, followed by treatment with an incremental feeding pattern (IFP) and a concaved feeding pattern, respectively, with no difference in total feed intake. The IFP group showed a significant decrease in the stillbirth rate (P < 0.05) and an upward trend in piglet mean birth weight (P = 0.06). Furthermore, the IFP group exhibited an increase in the weights of stomach, supraspinatus tendon, triceps, and psoas minor in neonatal piglets (P < 0.05). Overall, the results of the present investigation showed that IFP could significantly reduce the stillbirth rate of Guangdong Small-ear Spotted gilts and increase the muscle weight of progeny.
•An incremental feeding pattern of Guangdong Small-ear Spotted gilts can reduce stillbirth rate and increase muscle weight of progeny.•More research is needed on maternal nutrition regulation of fetal muscle development.•Incremental and concaved feeding patterns are no differences in plasma concentrations of insulin, insulin-like growth factor 1, progesterone and growth hormone of gilts during gestation.
Aim: Our aim was to study the relationship between interleukin 1B (IL-1B) polymorphism, Helicobacter pylori infection, and gastric cancer in high prevalent (Shanxi) and low prevalent (Guangdong) ...regions in China. Method: Genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood of 192 healthy volunteers, 84 gastric cancer patients from Guangdong and 169 healthy volunteers, and 86 gastric cancer patients from Shanxi. Polymorphisms in IL-1B that encodes IL-1β and IL-1RN that encodes IL-1 receptor antagonist were analysed by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). These polymorphic sites include promoter regions of IL-1B at positions +3954, −511 (C-T transition), and −31 (T-C transition), and IL-1RN variable tandem repeats. Results: In the low prevalence region, the frequencies of the IL-1B +3954 T/T and IL-1RN *2/*2 genotypes were similar. IL-1B −511T/T genotype frequency was significantly higher among patients with gastric cancer (25.0%) than control subjects (12.5%) (χ2 = 6.7, p = 0.01). In the high prevalence region, the frequencies of the IL-1B +3954T/T and −511T/T genotypes and the IL-1RN *2/*2 genotype in the cancer and control groups were similar. IL-1B −31C/C genotype frequency was significantly higher among patients with gastric cancer (90.0%) than controls (78.0%) (χ2 = 5.0, p = 0.025). Compared with the low prevalence region, control subjects from the high prevalence region had a higher frequency of the IL-1B −511T/T genotype (23.0% v 12.5%; χ2 = 7.0, p<0.008). While H pylori infection alone had only a modest effect on the risk of gastric cancer development (odds ratio (OR) 5.0 (95% confidence interval (CI) 1.5–16.3)), combined with the IL-1B −511T/T genotype the risk was markedly elevated (OR 17.1, 95% CI 3.8–76.4). Conclusion:IL-1B −511T/T genotypes are associated with gastric cancer in China. The effect of IL-1B polymorphism is less obvious in areas of high prevalence for gastric cancer.
The Born cross sections for the process e+e− → η′π+π− at different center-of-mass energies between 2.00 and 3.08 GeV are reported with improved precision from an analysis of data samples collected ...with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. An obvious structure is observed in the Born cross section line shape. Fit as a Breit-Wigner resonance, it has a statistical significance of 6.3 σ and a mass and width of M = ( 2111 ± 43 ± 25 ) MeV / c2 and Γ = ( 135 ± 34 ± 30 ) MeV , where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. These measured resonance parameters agree with the measurements of BABAR in e+e− → η′ π+π− and BESIII in e+e− → ωπ0 within two standard deviations.
The processes $e^+e^– → D^+_sD_{s1}(2460)^– + \text{c.c.}$ and $e^+e^– → D^{\ast+}_sD_{s1}(2460)^– + \text{c.c.}$ are studied for the first time using data samples collected with the BESIII detector ...at the BEPCII collider. The Born cross sections of $e^+e^– → D^+_sD_{s1}(2460)^– + \text{c.c.}$ at nine center-of-mass energies between 4.467 GeV and 4.600 GeV and those of $e^+e^– → D^{\ast+}_sD_{s1}(2460)^– + \text{c.c.}$ at $\sqrt{s}$ = 4.590 GeV and 4.600 GeV are measured. No obvious charmonium or charmoniumlike structure is seen in the measured cross sections.
Unicystic ameloblastoma is a unique histopathological type of ameloblastoma, and treatment is controversial. Marsupialisation is effective in reducing the size of cystic lesions and their ...complications. We have retrospectively analysed the clinical, histopathological, and prognostic data of affected patients who were treated by marsupialisation between 2003 and 2013 in three Chinese hospitals. Our aim was to evaluate the effects and prognosis, and the factors associated with outcome. A total of 116 patients with mandibular unicystic ameloblastomas were included, and 74, 26, and 16 patients were histopathologically classified as being luminal, intraluminal, and mural subtypes, respectively. Most responded well to marsupialisation, with an overall recurrence rate of 12%. Resorption of the root (p<0.001), perforation of the cortical bone (p=0.005), and histopathological subtype (p=0.013) were the main factors that predicted the outcome. Perforation of the cortical bone was the only reliable predictor of recurrence (p<0.001). Disease-free survival function curves indicated that patients with the mural subtype were at a higher risk of recurrence than patients with the other two subtypes (p=0.003). Poor outcomes of marsupialisation were treated surgically and, to date, no subsequent recurrences have been reported. Marsupialisation is effective for these patients, with a recurrence rate similar to that of radical treatment. The outcomes can be predicted using characteristics of the lesion such as resorption of the root, perforation of the cortical bone, and histopathological subtypes. However, additional studies are required to corroborate these findings.
The effect of Si addition on the initial deformation mechanism of Fe–30Mn–9Al–0.9C–0.5Mo cast lightweight steel has been investigated. Atomic-scale analysis by three-dimensional atom-probe tomography ...confirmed that Si addition accelerates the formation kinetics of the κ-carbide, and increases remarkably the partitioning coefficient of carbon by more than 2 times. Promotion of C partitioning into κ-carbides by Si addition leads to deformation localization in an aged state. This is attributed not only to the increase of the κ-carbide size associated with higher coherency strain, but also to higher frequency of Al-C bonding formation. First-principles calculations indicated that the energy required for a/2 shearing of κ-carbide in the aged 1%-Si steel is higher (561 mJ/m2) than that in the aged Si-free steel (494 mJ/m2). Therefore, Si addition leads to a significant energy difference for shearing and results in different shear bands formation. The operative deformation mechanism can be calculated for this alloy system as a function of precipitates volume fraction and size. It was determined that deformation proceeds primarily by κ-carbide shearing as long as the radius of κ-carbides is smaller than 13.4 nm.

Two multilayer bonding structures have been designed to die-bond light-emitting diode (LED) chips on Ag/Cu thermal substrate, viz. Sn/ZnBi/Sn bilayer solder structure and Sn/BiZnBi/Sn sandwich solder ...structure. Both multilayer bonding structures successfully achieved LED chip die-attachment on Ag/Cu thermal substrate at relatively low temperature of 150°C. However, voids formed more seriously at the bonding interface for the Sn/ZnBi/Sn bilayer structure. On the other hand, little voiding was seen at the bonding interface for the Sn/BiZnBi/Sn sandwich structure. The average shear strength of the Sn/ZnBi/Sn bilayer solder structure and Sn/BiZnBi/Sn sandwich solder structure was 25 MPa and 40 MPa, respectively. We believe that the improved shear strength results for the sandwich solder structure compared with the bilayer solder structure are mainly due to less voiding at the bonding interface, which weakens the interface joint shear strength. Also, the intermetallic compounds (IMCs) jointing region at the joint interface of the sandwich solder structure was larger than at the joint interface of the bilayer solder structure. We believe that the IMC jointing at the interface could improve the die-bonding strength, while the Zn content in the bonding structure promoted voiding at the bonding interface for both solder structures. Moreover, the Zn content in the bonding structure slightly reduced the IMC joint region at the bonding interface for both solder structures.
Helicobacter pylori is the primary cause of gastric cancer. However, monoclonal Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) nucleic acid is also present in up to 10% of these tumors worldwide. EBV prevalence is ...increased with male sex, nonantral localization and surgically disrupted anatomy. To further examine associations between EBV and gastric cancer, we organized an international consortium of 11 studies with tumor EBV status assessed by in situ hybridization. We pooled individual‐level data on 2,648 gastric cancer patients, including 184 (7%) with EBV‐positive cancers; all studies had information on cigarette use (64% smokers) and nine had data on alcohol (57% drinkers). We compared patients with EBV‐positive and EBV‐negative tumors to evaluate smoking and alcohol interactions with EBV status. To account for within‐population clustering, multilevel logistic regression models were used to estimate interaction odds ratios (OR) adjusted for distributions of sex (72% male), age (mean 59 years), tumor histology (56% Lauren intestinal‐type), anatomic subsite (61% noncardia) and year of diagnosis (1983–2012). In unadjusted analyses, the OR of EBV positivity with smoking was 2.2 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.6–3.2. The OR was attenuated to 1.5 (95% CI 1.01–2.3) by adjustment for the possible confounders. There was no significant interaction of EBV status with alcohol drinking (crude OR 1.4; adjusted OR 1.0). Our data indicate the smoking association with gastric cancer is stronger for EBV‐positive than EBV‐negative tumors. Conversely, the null association with alcohol does not vary by EBV status. Distinct epidemiologic characteristics of EBV‐positive cancer further implicate the virus as a cofactor in gastric carcinogenesis.

Although the H.pylori bacteria is the primary cause of gastric cancer, in some cases the Epstein‐Barr virus also appears to be involved. In this study, the authors compared smoking and alcohol use between patients with EBV‐positive and EBV‐negative gastric cancers. No association was found with alcohol use, but smokers were more likely to have EBV‐positive cancer.
