Sodium‐ion batteries are promising for grid‐scale storage applications due to the natural abundance and low cost of sodium. However, few electrodes that can meet the requirements for practical ...applications are available today due to the limited routes to exploring new materials. Here, a new strategy is proposed through partially/fully substituting the redox couple of existing negative electrodes in their reduced forms to design the corresponding new positive electrode materials. The power of this strategy is demonstrated through the successful design of new tunnel‐type positive electrode materials of Na0.61Mn0.61‐xFexTi0.39O2, composed of non‐toxic and abundant elements: Na, Mn, Fe, Ti. In particular, the designed air‐stable Na0.61Mn0.27Fe0.34Ti0.39O2 shows a usable capacity of ≈90 mAh g−1, registering the highest value among the tunnel‐type oxides, and a high storage voltage of 3.56 V, corresponding to the Fe3+/Fe4+ redox couple realized for the first time in non‐layered oxides, which was confirmed by X‐ray absorption spectroscopy and Mössbauer spectroscopy. This new strategy would open an exciting route to explore electrode materials for rechargeable batteries.

Abstract
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is involved in mammalian reproduction via binding to FSH receptor (FSHR). However, several studies have found that FSH and FSHR play important roles in ...extragonadal tissue. Here, we identified the expression of FSHR in human and mouse pancreatic islet β-cells. Blocking FSH signaling by Fshr knock-out led to impaired glucose tolerance owing to decreased insulin secretion, while high FSH levels caused insufficient insulin secretion as well. In vitro, we found that FSH orchestrated glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS) in a bell curve manner. Mechanistically, FSH primarily activates Gαs via FSHR, promoting the cAMP/protein kinase A (PKA) and calcium pathways to stimulate GSIS, whereas high FSH levels could activate Gαi to inhibit the cAMP/PKA pathway and the amplified effect on GSIS. Our results reveal the role of FSH in regulating pancreatic islet insulin secretion and provide avenues for future clinical investigation and therapeutic strategies for postmenopausal diabetes.
Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is the main cause of leg pain in middle‑aged and elderly individuals. Hyaluronic acid (HA), as well as curcuminoid, has been used in the treatment of knee OA. In the present ...study, HA/chitosan nanoparticles (CNPs) were prepared for the delivery of curcuminoid, in order to investigate whether HA and curcuminoid can act synergistically as a better treatment option. The knee OA model was established by the Hulth method, and a knee OA chondrocyte model was constructed by the co‑induction of interleukin‑1β and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)‑α. The drug loading capacity of HA/CNP for the delivery of curcuminoid was measured by an ultraviolet assay, and the cytotoxicity to chondrocytes was measured by an MTT assay. Collagen II was detected by immunofluorescence, and the expression levels of nuclear factor (NF)‑κB and inflammation‑related genes in cartilage tissue and chondrocytes were detected. Chondrocyte proliferation was determined by an EdU assay, and chondrocyte apoptosis was determined by flow cytometry. The Mankin pathological score of the Outerbridge classification was obtained. The results demonstrated that the optimum drug loading capacity of HA/CNP for the delivery of curcuminoid was 38.44%, with a good sustained release function. HA/CNP treatment resulted in inhibition of the NF‑κB pathway, as well as the expression of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)‑1 and MMP‑13, but it increased collagen II expression. HA/CNP for the delivery of curcuminoid significantly decreased the Outerbridge classification and Mankin pathological scores to close to normal until the 4th week. Furthermore, it was also observed that all the effects of HA/CNP on the delivery of curcuminoid were more prominent compared with the effects of HA or curcuminoid treatment individually. Taken together, these findings demonstrated that HA/CNP for the delivery of curcuminoid may suppress inflammation and chondrocyte apoptosis in knee OA via repression of the NF‑κB pathway.
Unprecedented PPh3-mediated 4 + 2- and 4 + 1-annulation of maleimides with in situ formed azoalkenes have been successfully developed, affording fused tetrahydropyridazine/pyrrolidinedione and ...spiro-dihydropyrazole/pyrrolidinedione derivatives in good yields under mild reaction conditions. Maleimides serve as C2 synthons in the 4 + 2-annulation using 1,2-dichloroethane as the solvent in the presence of 20 mol % of PPh3. With a stoichiometric amount of PPh3 in acetone, maleimides serve as C1 synthons, and the in situ formed phosphorus ylide is the key intermediate to realize this 4 + 1-annulation.
Background Mobile phone addiction has become a social problem that affects the healthy growth of adolescents, and it may be correlated with coping style. The aim of this study was to investigate the ...relationship between mobile phone addiction and coping style and the influencing factors for adolescents. Methods A meta-analysis was conducted by searching China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), WANFANG DATA and Chongqing VIP Information Co., Ltd. (VIP), PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and PsycINFO. Stata 16.0 was used to analyse the overall effect and test the moderating effect. Results Thirty-three studies were included, involving a total of 20,349 subjects. There was no significant correlation between adolescents' mobile phone addiction and positive coping style (r = - 0.02, 95% CI = - 0.06 to 0.02, P > 0.05), but there was a moderate positive correlation between adolescents' mobile phone addiction and negative coping style (r = 0.31, 95% CI = 0.26 to 0.36, P < 0.001). The moderating effect analysis showed that the effect of dissertations on mobile phone addiction and positive coping style among adolescents was significantly larger than that of journal articles. The Smartphone Addiction Scale for College Students (SAS-C) showed the largest effect on mobile phone addiction and positive coping style among adolescents. The time of publication significantly positively moderated the relationship between mobile phone addiction and negative coping style among adolescents. The Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ) showed the largest effect on adolescents' mobile phone addiction and negative coping style. However, the correlation between adolescents' mobile phone addiction and coping style was not affected by age or gender. Conclusions There was a close relationship between mobile phone addiction and coping style among adolescents. In the future, longitudinal research should be carried out to better investigate the dynamic changes in the relationship between mobile phone addiction and coping style. Diabetes has been indicated to be a risk factor for suicide. We aim to estimate the prevalence of suicide in patients with diabetes.
A meta-analysis using PRISMA methodology was adopted to examine ...the incidence of suicide in diabetic patients.
From inception to October 2022, three online databases (PubMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure and Web of Science) were used to search studies.
We used random-effects model to analysis. And our primary outcome was the incidence of suicide death per 100 person-years, and other outcomes were prevalence of suicidal ideation and suicide attempt. To explore the sources of heterogeneity in our study, we performed subgroup and meta-regression analyses.
The suicide death rate in diabetic patients was 0.027 per 100 person-years, with a higher rate for Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus compared to Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. The prevalence of suicidal ideation in diabetes patients was 0.175, with a higher prevalence in Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus compared to Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. The prevalence of suicide attempts in diabetes patients was 0.033, indicating a higher rate for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus compared to Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus.
The results indicate a high rate of suicide among people with diabetes, and this study identifies populations and regions at high risk for suicide. Our review emphasizes interventions in mental health and the improvement of suicide prevention programmes.
The study investigated suicide death, suicidal ideation and suicide attempt in diabetic individuals. Suicide rates are elevated among diabetic patients, and various patient groups face distinct suicide risks. It is important to prioritize the mental well-being of diabetic individuals and enhance interventions, including personalized approaches, to inform public health efforts aimed at preventing and addressing suicide among diabetic patients.

Objective
This study evaluated the antitumor activity and safety of pemigatinib in previously treated Chinese patients with advanced cholangiocarcinoma and fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 (FGFR2) ...fusions or rearrangements.
Background
Pemigatinib provided clinical benefits for previously treated patients with cholangiocarcinoma carrying FGFR2 fusions or rearrangements and was approved for this indication in multiple countries.
Methods
In this ongoing, multicenter, single‐arm, phase II study, adult patients with locally advanced or metastatic cholangiocarcinoma carrying centrally confirmed FGFR2 fusions or rearrangements who had progressed on ≥1 systemic therapy received 13.5 mg oral pemigatinib once daily (3‐week cycle; 2 weeks on, 1 week off) until disease progression, unacceptable toxicity, or consent withdrawal. The primary endpoint was objective response rate (ORR) assessed by an independent radiology review committee.
Results
As of January 29, 2021, 31 patients were enrolled. The median follow‐up was 5.1 months (range, 1.5–9.3). Among 30 patients with FGFR2 fusions or rearrangements evaluated for efficacy, 15 patients achieved partial response (ORR, 50.0%; 95% confidence interval CI, 31.3–68.7); 15 achieved stable disease, contributing to a disease control rate of 100% (95% CI, 88.4–100). The median time to response was 1.4 months (95% CI, 1.3–1.4), the median duration of response was not reached, and the median progression‐free survival was 6.3 months (95% CI, 4.9–not estimable NE). Eight (25.8%) of 31 patients had ≥grade 3 treatment‐emergent adverse events. Hyperphosphatemia, hypophosphatasemia, nail toxicities, and ocular disorders were mostly <grade 3, except for 2 events ≥grade 3.
Conclusions
The encouraging antitumor activity and favorable safety profile support the use of pemigatinib as a treatment in previously treated Chinese patients with cholangiocarcinoma and FGFR2 rearrangements.
Magnolol is a lignan with anti-inflammatory activity identified in
. Ulcerative colitis (UC), one of the types of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), is a disease that causes inflammation and ulcers in ...the colon. To investigate the effect of magnolol in dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced experimental UC model, male C57 mice were treated with 2% DSS drinking water for 5 consecutive days followed by intragastric administration with magnolol (5, 10 and 15 mg/kg) daily for 7 days. The results showed that magnolol significantly attenuated disease activity index, inhibited colonic shortening, reduced colonic lesions and suppressed myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity. Moreover, colonic pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β) induced by colitis were dramatically decreased by magnolol. To further unveil the metabolic signatures upon magnolol treatment, mass spectrometry-based metabolomic analysis of the small molecular metabolites in mice serum were performed. Compared with controls, abnormality of serum metabolic phenotypes in DSS-treated mice were effectively reversed by different doses of magnolol. In particular, magnolol treatment effectively elevated the serum levels of tryptophan metabolites including kynurenic acid (KA), 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid, indoleacetic acid (IAA), indolelactic acid and indoxylsulfuric acid, which are potential aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) ligands to impact colitis. These findings suggest that magnolol exerts anti-inflammatory effect on DSS-induced colitis and its underlying mechanisms are associated with the restoring of tryptophan metabolites that inhibit the colonic inflammation.
An unprecedented cascade vinylogous Mukaiyama 1,6-MA/MA of 2-silyloxyfurans and azoalkenes was realized with a Cu(II)/ t Bu-Box complex. An array of fused butyrolactones containing multiple ...stereocenters was generally obtained in good yield (up to 90% yield) with exclusive diastereoselectivity (>20:1 dr) and excellent enantioselectivity (up to 99% ee). Carbon isotope effects measured by 13C NMR revealed a stepwise mechanism for this annulation process.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the sensitivity, specificity, and predictive value of serum procalcitonin (PCT) for osteomyelitis and septic arthritis in children. PubMed, EMBase, and ...Cochrane Library were searched until 10 August 2021, for eligible literature focusing on PCT for the diagnosis of osteomyelitis and septic arthritis. Four articles with six studies were included in the diagnostic meta-analysis, a total of 654 children were examined for bacterial cultures in PCT, osteomyelitis, and septic arthritis. The results of diagnostic meta-analysis showed that the PCT had a sensitivity of 0.72, 95% confidence interval (CI) (0.65-0.79), specificity of 0.90, 95% CI (0.87-0.93), positive likelihood ratio (LR) of 3.87, 95% CI (2.53-5.90), negative LR of 0.39, 95% CI (0.22-0.70), and diagnostic odds ratio was 13.13, 95% CI (6.46-26.66), for the detection of osteomyelitis and septic arthritis using bacterial culture as the gold standard. Based on the summary receiver operating characteristic curve of PCT, it was found that the area under the curve of PCT was 0.88. In the evaluation of publication bias, the result of the regression line test showed that there was not publication bias (bias = 13.72; 95% CI, -1.84 to 29.28; P = 0.07). This study provided systematic review of the published literature on the diagnosis of osteomyelitis and septic arthritis in children using PCT, which may serve as a biomarker for diagnosis of osteomyelitis, but it has no direct evidences to support the diagnosis of septic arthritis. However, the specific optimal cutoff value of PCT and specific population still needed to be verified by large sample studies.
