Congenital hyperinsulinism (CHI) is a complex heterogeneous condition in which insulin secretion from pancreatic β-cells is unregulated and inappropriate for the level of blood glucose. The ...inappropriate insulin secretion drives glucose into the insulin-sensitive tissues, such as the muscle, liver and adipose tissue, leading to severe hyperinsulinaemic hypoglycaemia (HH). At a molecular level, genetic abnormalities in nine different genes (ABCC8, KCNJ11, GLUD1, GCK, HNF4A, HNF1A, SLC16A1, UCP2 and HADH) have been identified which cause CHI. Autosomal recessive and dominant mutations in ABCC8/KCNJ11 are the commonest cause of medically unresponsive CHI. Mutations in GLUD1 and HADH lead to leucine-induced HH, and these two genes encode the key enzymes glutamate dehydrogenase and short chain 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase which play a key role in amino acid and fatty acid regulation of insulin secretion respectively. Genetic abnormalities in HNF4A and HNF1A lead to a dual phenotype of HH in the newborn period and maturity onset-diabetes later in life. This state of the art review provides an update on the molecular basis of CHI.
Automatic information extraction from online published scientific documents is useful in various applications such as tagging, web indexing and search engine optimization. As a result, automatic ...information extraction has become among the hottest areas of research in text mining. Although various information extraction techniques have been proposed in the literature, their efficiency demands domain specific documents with static and well-defined format. Furthermore, their accuracy is challenged with a slight modification in the format. To overcome these issues, a novel ontological framework for information extraction (OFIE) using fuzzy rule-base (FRB) and word sense disambiguation (WSD) is proposed. The proposed approach is validated with a significantly wider document domains sourced from well-known publishing services such as IEEE, ACM, Elsevier, and Springer. We have also compared the proposed information extraction approach against state-of-the-art techniques. The results of the experiment show that the proposed approach is less sensitive to changes in the document format and has a significantly better average accuracy of 89.14% and F-score as 89%.

To this end, the current ...research links the relationship marketing literature to hospitality and tourism research and formulates a novel framework by incorporating tourists' co-creation experience, brand evangelism, brand trust, and brand passion in an integrated conceptual model. Using a quantitative research design, a total of 453 international tourists were surveyed in China. The findings revealed that co-creation experience dimensions positively impact brand evangelism, trust, and passion. Additionally, we found that brand trust and brand passion positively affect brand evangelism. We also confirmed the mediating effect of brand trust and brand passion in bridging the co-creation experience and brand evangelism. This study offers valuable insights for restaurant brand managers regarding attracting and engaging foreign travelers with their service businesses.
Graphene oxide (GO) has become the most attractive material for membrane technology owing to its potential application as a nanofiller in water treatment, purification, and desalination. In this ...study, we incorporated mica as a cross-linking reagent to increase the interlayer spacing and stability of GO sheets and fabricated a mica/GO (MGO) membrane for the first time. The MGO membrane (260 ± 10 nm) exhibits 100% rejection for biomolecules such as tannic acid (TA) and bovine serum albumin (BSA) and >99% rejection for multiple probe molecules, such as methylene blue, methyl orange, congo red, and rhodamine B. The high rejection of membranes can be attributed to the surface interaction of mica with GO nanosheets through covalent interaction, which enhances the stability and separation efficiency of the membranes for probe ions and molecules. This ultrathin MGO membrane also exhibits much better water permeability at 870 ± 5 L m

, which is 10-100 times greater than that reported for pure GO and GO-based composite membranes. Additionally, the membrane shows high rejection for salt ions (70%). The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) is considered as serious global threat of this time and greatest challenge for recent ...days. Several approaches have been carried out in this direction to fight against COVID‐19. Among these, nanotechnology is one of the promising approach to face these challenges in the current situation. Recently, graphene‐based nanomaterials have been explored for COVID‐19 due to its unique physicochemical properties. This mini review provides a recent progress in graphene‐based nanomaterials and its applications for diagnosis, detection, decontamination, and protection against COVID‐19. Further, main challenges and perspective for fundamental design and development of technologies based on graphene‐based materials are discussed and suitable directions to improve these technologies are suggested. This article will provide timely knowledge and future direction about this wonder materials in various biological applications.

The emergence of ChatGPT in the broader field of generative artificial intelligence (AI) has sparked scholarly discourse on its utilization in various disciplines. Yet, a significant void exists in ...our understanding of the dynamics of consumer engagement with content creators producing ChatGPT-related content. Therefore, the present study aims to delineate how ChatGPT-related content garners consumer engagement on YouTube. Data from 100 YouTube videos amassing an aggregate of 65 million views on ChatGPT were extracted using three application programming interfaces (APIs), namely, VidIQ, Tubebuddy, and SocialBlade. We subsequently contrasted this dataset with data from 200 other videos produced by the same creators. The data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA, multigroup SEM, and comparative line graphs. Employing the Uses and Gratifications (U&G) theoretical framework, our results indicate that innovative content such as ChatGPT-related videos garners more engagement than other content types from the same YouTube channels. Intriguingly, this study finds that ChatGPT-focused content exhibited diminished sensitivity to channel subscriber counts, with channels having fewer subscribers achieving higher viewership numbers. Furthermore, ChatGPT-related content induced a surge in new subscribers to the channel compared to the other content types. The present study pioneers the investigation of audience engagement with ChatGPT-related content by juxtaposing it with other content from the same YouTube channels. We also explicate the relationship between content sensitivity and extant subscriber counts. The present study provides vital insights and implications for a diverse audience, including content creators, developers of AI tools, advertisers, and content publishers.
Cyberattacks in the modern world are sophisticated and can be undetected in a dispersed setting. In a distributed setting, DoS and DDoS attacks cause resource unavailability. This has motivated the ...scientific community to suggest effective approaches in distributed contexts as a means of mitigating such attacks. Syn Flood is the most common sort of DDoS assault, up from 76% to 81% in Q2, according to Kaspersky's Q3 report. Direct and indirect approaches are also available for launching DDoS attacks. While in a DDoS attack, controlled traffic is transmitted indirectly through zombies to reflectors to compromise the target host, in a direct attack, controlled traffic is sent directly to zombies in order to assault the victim host. Reflectors are uncompromised systems that only send replies in response to a request. To mitigate such assaults, traffic shaping and pushback methods are utilised. The SYN Flood Attack Detection and Mitigation Technique (SFaDMT) is an adaptive heuristic-based method we employ to identify DDoS SYN flood assaults. This study suggested an effective strategy to identify and resist the SYN assault. A decision support mechanism served as the foundation for the suggested (SFaDMT) approach. The suggested model was simulated, analysed, and compared to the most recent method using the OMNET simulator. The outcome demonstrates how the suggested fix improved detection.
Early leaf spot disease, caused by Cercospora arachidicola, is a devastating peanut disease that has severely impacted peanut production and quality. Chemical fungicides pollute the environment; ...however, Bacillus bacteria can be used as an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical fungicides. To understand the novel bacterial strain and unravel its molecular mechanism, De novo whole-genome sequencing emerges as a rapid and efficient omics approach. In the current study, we identified an antagonistic strain, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens TA-1. In-vitro assay showed that the TA-1 strain was a strong antagonist against C. arachidicola, with an inhibition zone of 88.9 mm. In a greenhouse assay, results showed that the TA-1 strain had a significant biocontrol effect of 95% on peanut early leaf spot disease. De novo whole-genome sequencing analysis, shows that strain TA-1 has a single circular chromosome with 4172 protein-coding genes and a 45.91% guanine and cytosine (GC) content. Gene function was annotated using non-redundant proteins from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), Swiss-Prot, the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG), clusters of orthologous groups of proteins, gene ontology, pathogen-host interactions, and carbohydrate-active enZYmes. antiSMASH analysis predicted that strain TA-1 can produce the secondary metabolites siderophore, tailcyclized peptide, myxochelin, bacillibactin, paenibactin, myxochelin, griseobactin, benarthin, tailcyclized, and samylocyclicin. The strain TA-1 had a significant biological control effect against peanut early leaf spot disease in-vitro and in greenhouse assays. Whole genome analysis revealed that, TA-1 strain belongs to B. amyloliquefaciens and could produce the antifungal secondary metabolites.

Odorant binding proteins (OBPs) and chemosensory proteins (CSPs) expressed in antennal chemosensilla are believed to be important in insect chemoreception. In the current study, we fully described ...the morphological characteristics of the antennal sensilla in parasitoid wasp Microplitis mediator and analyzed the expression patterns of OBPs and CSPs within the antennae. In M. mediator, eight types of sensilla were observed on the antennae. Sensilla basiconica type 2 and s. placodea with wall pores may be involved in olfactory perception, whereas s. basiconica type 1 and type 3 with tip pores may play gustatory functions. Among the 18 OBPs and 3 CSPs in M. mediator, 10 OBPs and 2 CSPs were exclusively or primarily expressed in the antennae. In situ hybridization experiments indicated that the 12 antennae-enriched OBPs and CSPs were mapped to five morphological classes of antennal sensilla, including s. basiconica (type 1-3), s. placodea and s. coeloconica. Within the antennae, most of OBP and CSP genes were expressed only in one type of sensilla indicating their differentiated roles in detection of special type of chemical molecules. Our data will lay a foundation to further study the physiological roles of OBPs and CSPs in antennae of parasitoid wasps.
