Stanislav Vinaver witnessed October Revolution. In April 1917, he was sent to Russia on a diplomatic mission and stayed there until the autumn of 1919. After returning to Serbia, he published ...articles about Russia (ideology, revolution, war, life, theatre, art, music) in Politika and Republika, Belgrade daily newspapers, and in Kritika, a Zagreb magazine, which, in their form, resembled dramatic sketches, stories, reports, and travel essays. This paper discusses Vinaver’s articles on theatre issues in Bolshevik Russia, primarily the Kamerny Theatre and the Moscow Drama Theatre. Vinaver’s ideas about the repertoire and aesthetic searches of the two Moscow theatres are interpreted in the context of the time of their emergence, together with the context of artistic assessment, which is by no means inferior to today’s interpretations of the role of the Kamerny and Moscow Drama Theatres in the development of the Soviet experimental theatre.
This article discusses the question of white, light, and the limit of a painting in the creative work of the contemporary artist Erik Bulatov. The author shows how, based on theoretical and practical ...knowledge of Malevich’s and Favorsky’s painting, Bulatov creates in his canvases a unique space of painting that extends in both directions from its surface, i. e. towards the viewer, and into the depths. To achieve this, Bulatov used words addressed to the viewer that were simultaneously placed between the viewer and the painting (‘Glory to the CPSU’, ‘Danger’, ‘Do not lean’), thus freeing up the space of the painting itself. This leads to a break with the boundaries of social space, which is achieved with the help of the poet Vsevolod Nekrasov’s words “I walk”, “I live and see”, “Freedom exists”. In his work on the structuring of pictorial space, Bulatov draws on Р. Florensky’s textbook provisions on linear and inverted perspective (in Iconostasis) and the narrowness of the Universe and the openness of the Empyrean (in Imaginaries in Geometry), as well as Malevich’s supremacist manifestos, which called for the painting to be freed from the frame and, at the same time, from the materiality of the consumerist attitude towards painting. In this regard, Bulatov developed a theory of two types of light in his paintings: the light of the surface of the painting (illumination of this surface by the light of the space surrounding the painting, i. e. lamps, windows, etc.) and the light from within the painting, i. e. the light of space, which is actually white light, i. e. the light of absolute infinity.
The article discusses Sergey Zavyalov?s cycle of poems ?Christmas Lent? as a
polyphonic text - evidence of the besieged Leningrad in the context of
philosophical reflections on whether poetry is ...possible after Auschwitz. The
story of the victim, as well as the weather forecast and news report from
the front, become the main document of the tragedy of human existence in

This paper aims to discuss the idea of creating a zero-gravity theatre, pioneered by Dragan Živadinov, a Slovenian conceptual artist. In order to do so, the author turns to Russian philosophical (N. ...Fyodorov, K. Tsiolkovsky, A Chizhevsky) and artistic sources (K. Malevich), as well as the space exploration envisioned by Slovenian scientist Herman Potocnik Noordung, who influenced Živadinov's cosmokinetic art. Resisting the legacy of cosmists and supremacists, Živadinov designs his objectless antimimetic theatre with a void actor, freed from weight and expected to be replaced by a technical substitute, which emits the actor’s memory from near-equatorial orbit. This article examines the foundations of post-gravity theatre, which are based on three algorithms with the digital memory of the actor: biological (recording of body coordinates), biographical (recording of professional biography), and biomechatronic (recording of genetic structure). These will be controlled by the “umbot” both on stage and in space after the death of the actors. The author focuses on the Biomechanics Noordung production, performed in the stratosphere on board an IL‑76 MDK aircraft. Due to sudden free-fall moments, the performers experienced a state of weightlessness, interpreted as a rehearsal for the future liberation of the body from gravity. In conditions which made it possible to create a dozen modes of weightlessness, the actors could perform in a state of levitation, which was perceived as a unique abstract theatrical performance. Combining Meyerhold’s theory of biomechanics, conceived in the 1920s as a system of exercises for the actor’s body, with Noordung’s research on gravity and ways to overcome it, represented by drawings of a rotating space station, Živadinov realised the idea of theatricalising the cosmos. With this performance, Živadinov shows that an abstract work of art can become truly abstract only if it triumphs over gravity, i. e. if it loses its gravitational orientation (up, down, left, right) and manifests itself in zero gravity.
