Learning the art of music that has characteristics, special characters, and is carried out within an integrative thematic frame in elementary schools, needs to be supported by the professional ...competence of classroom teachers. The purpose of this study was to determine the professional competence of classroom teachers in learning music in elementary schools. This paper is the result of interpretive descriptive research with the main data source of classroom teachers, while the source of supporting data are students and principals. Data collection techniques are done by tests, observations, and interviews. The data collection process is carried out starting before the learning stage until the learning evaluation process. Based on the results of the study showed that: (1) the average mastery of classroom teachers to the knowledge of music theory needed in learning has only reached 45%; (2) the average teacher mastery of musical basic competencies has only reached 42.5%; and (3) the average teacher mastery of musical instrument playing skills competencies needed in learning has only reached 33.75%. The results of tests conducted on the teachers turned out to be relevant to the data obtained during the implementation of learning. It was proven that learning material in the form of musical knowledge such as music symbols, time bars, and various tempos is only taught by one class teacher. The practice of singing traditional songs is not supported by the teacher’s ability to give examples of reading song notation in accordance with the demands of the teacher’s handbook. Practical learning material for playing musical instruments is also only implemented by one classroom teacher. The implementation of music art learning in which most of the time allocation is filled with singing songs that are mastered (memorized) by the teacher. This shows that the classroom teacher in the implementation of music art learning has not been supported by adequate professional competence.
In the ethnically diverse nation of Indonesia, conflicts rooted in issues of Ethnicity, Religion, Race, and Inter-Group (SARA) have long been a persistent problem, particularly affecting ethnic ...Chinese who have faced marginalization and sociocultural challenges, including name changes and stereotypes. The Meranti Islands have been in the spotlight of the national media several times because of the various conflicts that occurred, both political conflicts and conflicts between ethnicities, tribes and even religions such as the burning of Chinese Ethnic Shophouses. These conflicts, driven by differences in interests and interference among groups, have sometimes led to tensions, discrimination, and even riots. The research aims to analyze Abdurrahman Wahid's political da'wah from the perspective of non-Muslim minority groups in the Meranti Islands Regency. This research is field research type. The research method uses qualitative methods. Data was collected through questionnaires and interviews and strengthened by a literature review. The research results show two thoughts regarding Islamic politics; first, 85% of the non-Muslim community in Meranty Island strongly supports Abdurrahman Wahid's Islamic political da'wah to be realized in public policies. The non-Muslim minority groups support Abdurrahman Wahid's political da'wah to maintain the Islamic taught about the rights and obligations of citizens and protect minority groups. With a percentage of 93%, they considered Abdurrahman Wahid to have carried out the function of Islamic teachings to do good deeds in a moderate and tolerant humanitarian and political life.
The energy consumption of the developing countries such as Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) continues to rise as the economic growth increases. The aim of this study was to ...analyze the effect of the consumption of the fossil fuels (coal, petroleum, and natural gas) and the renewable energy to the economic growth in the five BRICS countries. The analysis tool used was multiple linear regression using Fixed Effect Model (FEM) Method and panel data on time series from 1995 to 2014.The results showed that the consumption of fossil energy, especially coal energy, positively and significantly affects the economic growth in the BRICS countries. However the renewable energy consumption a negatively affects the economic growth in the BRICS countries.
AbstractPrevious research has examined the relationship between ESG disclosure and firm value, but it has yet to fully explain how the former can increase the latter. Thus, the current study aims to ...fill the research gap by analyzing the relationship between ESG disclosure and firm value with competitive advantage as a mediating variable. This research was conducted in Indonesia on the ground that Indonesia is a developing country with a great potential for an increased economy even though its ESG implementation is still less optimal. This study employed the purposive sampling method with the criteria that the companies to be included as the sample were non-financial companies listed on the IDX and were consistent in disclosing ESG and publishing their financial reports. The sample of this study comprised 42 non-financial companies in Indonesia within the 2015–2021 period, with a total of 252 observations were conducted. The data were analysed using PLS-SEM with WarpPLS 7.0 to test hypotheses and draw conclusions. The findings showed that ESG disclosure did not affect firm value. However, when competitive advantage was included as a mediating variable in the relationship between the two variables, the results showed a significant positive direction toward firm value. This research contributes to the practical implications and development of signal theory and resource theory, especially in accounting and sustainability disciplines in the context of non-financial companies.
Mental health disorders pose a significant global public health challenge. Social media data provides insights into these conditions.Analysing text can help identify indications of mental health ...disorders through text-based analysis. However, despite the largenumber of studies on the analysis of mental health disorders, the predominant algorithm in the existing literature is the Multi-ClassSingle-Level (MCSL) classification algorithm, which is often used for simple classification tasks involving a limited number of classes.Typically, these classes are binary, representing either an unhealthy or a healthy mental state. This paper uses English text data from Reddit to classify mental health disorders. The Multi-Class Multi-Level (MCML) classification algorithm was applied to perform detailedclassification and address the limitations of the research scope using several approaches, including machine learning, deep learning, and transfer learning approaches. Two different pre-processing scenarios were proposed to handle unstructured text data, one of the most challenging aspects of classifying text from social media. The results of the experiments show that the MCML classification algorithm successfully performs detailed classification and produces promising results for each classification level. The proposed pre-processing scenario influences the performance of each classifier and improves classification accuracy. The best accuracy results were obtained for the Robustly Optimised BERT Pre-training Approach (RoBERTa) classifier at level 1 and level 2 classifications, namely 0.98 and 0.85, respectively. Overall, the MCML classification algorithm is proven to be used as a benchmark for early detection of text-based mental health disorders.
Online hate speech is one of the negative impacts of internet-based social media development. Hate speech occurs due to a lack of public understanding of criticism and hate speech. The Indonesian ...government has regulations regarding hate speech, and most of the existing research about hate speech only focuses on feature extraction and classification methods. Therefore, this paper proposes methods to identify hate speech before a crime occurs. This paper presents an approach to detect hate speech by expanding synonyms in word embedding and shows the classification comparison result between Word2Vec and FastText with bidirectional long short-term memory which are processed using synonym expanding process and without it. The goal is to classify hate speech and non-hate speech. The best accuracy result without the synonym expanding process is 0.90, and the expanding synonym process is 0.93.
Globally, effective oral communication skills in English as a lingua franca have become increasingly important. However, many EFL learners, including those in Indonesia, experience apprehension about ...oral communication in culturally diverse environments. This study explores the phenomenon of oral communication apprehension among Indonesian EFL learners, focusing on identifying the sociocultural factors that hinder them. Using a single-case design, classroom observations, learner interviews, and a teacher focus group were conducted. Purposive sampling selected three ninth-grade students from selected private junior high school in Jember, who demonstrated apprehension in oral communication, and two EFL teachers experienced in addressing students' communication apprehension. Data analysis involved Ethnomethodological Conversation Analysis (ECA) and thematic coding. The findings indicate that factors like interruption, overlap, self-correction, self-monitoring, and reliance on the first language (L1) during oral communication contribute to apprehension. Additionally, sociocultural factors such as learners' attitudes, parental language background, language interference, and educational challenges were identified as contributing to oral communication apprehension among EFL learners. This study sheds light on the root causes of learners' struggles, encouraging them to overcome these challenges. It also offers valuable insights for educators to implement strategies that can alleviate the sociocultural burden faced by many EFL learners, especially relevant in Indonesia's context within the expanded circle of English language learning, where cultural nuances significantly influence language acquisition experiences.
This study has a general purpose to extend a theoretical approach as an attempt to overcome the research inconsistency regarding the influence of capital in banking companies towards the creation of ...liquidity. In addition, the fact has shown that there was a problem of excess liquidity in Indonesian banks since 1997. To achieve the purpose, the effort is to offer a new concept or proposition derived from the main theory synthesis approach, namely the theory of efficiency and the theory of effectiveness. This study is a causality type observing the sample of conventional commercial banks, which are ranked among the ten banks and have the largest assets in Indonesia as of December 31, 2022. This study succeeded in finding effective managerial ability as a synthesis concept combining both theories. Furthermore, the finding from the research model suggests that effective managerial ability in granting credit is a mediator factor in the relationship between bank capital and the creation of liquidity. This study starts from the existence of various contradictions in the results of empirical research on the causality effect of bank capital on the creation of liquidity. The result shows the significant role of effective managerial ability in explaining the inconclusive findings of previous studies. It confirms that when the effective managerial ability in providing credit is higher, a manager could arrange the capital to create higher liquidity and generate greater revenue. The other results report that the creation of liquidity is influenced positively by the risk of credit and influenced negatively by the volatility of earning and reserve requirements.
This study aims to detect fraudulent financial reporting using hexagon fraud analysis, including seven factors: financial stability, external pressures, ineffective monitoring, auditor changes, ...change in director, arrogance, and collusion. The subject of this research is a public company consolidated audit report of state-owned enterprises. The existence of conflicting results, the phenomenon of fraudulent financial reporting, and limited research using the hexagon of fraud theory prompted this research to examine the factors that influence fraudulent financial reporting. The sample was selected using a sampling technique, with the criteria of state-owned enterprises listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016-2020. The method used is quantitative, and the analytical method used is logistic regression analysis. The sampling technique used was purposeful sampling, so the number of samples was 125. The results of this study indicate that financial stability and external pressures have a positive effect on fraudulent financial reporting. However, ineffective monitoring, auditor changes, change in director, arrogance, and collusion do not affect fraudulent financial reporting.
