This article aims to describe a variety of traditional expressions used by Using community at Banyuwangi in speaking. The variety of expressions is studied from the form, usage, and cultural meaning ...in communication. The data of traditional expression speech presented in the description sources from conversation of Using community in various speech situations. The result of the study shows that there are 6 categories of traditional expressions used in the Using speech community. The variety of the expressions used by the speaker to express a message, thoughts, feelings, or opinions to the speaking participan. Various things that can be conveyed through expression are praise, anger, aggravation, suggestions or advice, and pleasure. Using community utilizes the expressions to criticize, comment, ridicule, reassuring, stated, praising, reprimanding or blaming, complaining, remind, advise, and ask or beg. All of them are reflecting Using community culture in daily speech.

The research data in the form of Using language speech in which includes the varieties and its use of first person pronouns, second person pronouns, and third person pronouns. From the data analysis, it was found that the persons pronouns in Using language have various forms. The diversity of the forms caused by the demands of speech grammatical context. The forms ofpronoun used for the difference purposes according to the surrounding speech context.The diversity of the use of persons pronouns shape depends on the age of speech participants, the closeness of relationship of speech participants, the social status of speech participants, and the speech situation. The findings of this study have important functions as a reference material for Using language research and Using language teaching as local subject mater.
This study aims to describe the types, forms, functions, and assessment techniques of Indonesian teachers based on the Merdeka Curriculum, as well as the obstacles encountered in its implementation. ...This study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The research was carried out across six junior high schools within the Banyuwangi Regency. The participants of this study were Indonesian junior high school teachers. Information was gathered from primary and secondary sources. Primary data stemmed from observations and interviews, whereas secondary data encompassed assessment-related documents. Data analysis was performed using Milles and Huberman flow analysis techniques in three steps: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings of the research reveal the existence of two distinct assessment approaches in Indonesian language education within Banyuwangi Regency's junior high schools: formative assessment and summative assessment. Formative assessments included those at the beginning and during learning. Most teachers use written test techniques to diagnose students' cognition using the rubric as an instrument. Meanwhile, the teacher used questionnaires, interviews, and observations to diagnose students' noncognition. Formative assessment during learning is conducted using a variety of techniques and instruments adapted to the achievement elements of learning in Indonesian language. Summative assessments were carried out by the majority of teachers at the end of each chapter, midterm, and end of the semester using a written test technique. This research has implications for school stakeholders, teachers, and future researchers.
AbstractDeforestation, advancements in healthcare technology and the diminished concern of younger generations in preserving ecological wisdom, particularly ethnomedical practices, raise concerns ...about the potential extinction of such practices within the Sarolangun Malay community (henceforth abbreviated as SM). Against this backdrop, this ecolinguistic article explores and documents medicinal plant terminologies and their representation in incantations employed by traditional healers in their ethnomedical practices. Data were derived from ethnographic interviews employing rapport techniques with shamans. The study reveals that out of 63 medicinal plants used, they fall into seven terminological categories: color, shape, location, taste, aroma, function and gender. Meanwhile, the incantations used in healing processes are categorized into two: general and specific. These incantations encapsulate biological (flora and fauna), cultural (religion and agriculture) and social dimensions (relations with fellow humans and nature). This study concludes that the SM community perceives healing from ailments as an interplay of multiple inseparable elements: nature, supernatural forces and religion. This research plays a vital role in fostering and cultivating positive attitudes among various parties (including the government, capitalists and local communities) toward nature, a crucial source of raw materials. Furthermore, the research also contributes significantly to deepening the understanding of the relationship between local wisdom, language in oral literature and medicinal plants, all working together to heal various diseases. Serving as a pilot study for ecolinguistics in the SM context, this research offers preliminary insights for future scholars to discuss the diverse lexicon within incantations in comparison to other types.

The result of observation shows that there are four politeness principle. They are kurmat maxim or respect, andhap ashor maxim or humble, empan papan maxim or aware of the place, tepa selira maxim or tolerance maxim.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mendeskripsikan tindak impositif (meminta, bertanya memerintah dan menolak) kesantunan berbahasa, serta prinsip kesantunan dalam interaksi siswa. Proses pengumpulan data menggunakan, alat bantu recorder untuk mengambil data rekaman saat kegiatan penelitian, serta menggunakan teknik wawancara untuk memastikan dan memberikan hasil yang valid. Data penelitian ialah transkrip rekaman, hasil wawancara serta catatan lapangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan sumber data melalui siswa, guru, dan orangtua. Hasil yang telah diteliti mendapatkan empat prinsip tindak ujar kesantunan dalam berbahasa, yakni maksim kurmat atau hormat, maksim andhap asor atau rendah hati, maksim empan papan atau sadar akan tempat, dan maksim tepa selira atau tenggang rasa.
The social reality of conflict (group violence) is now occurring in many spheres of our society, including students who are synonymous with educated groups and prioritize rationality in making ...decisions. There are several reasons why conflicts between student groups occur. Firstly, the social reality triggers the tendency for students to behave aggressively and individual conflict occurs between students, which then shifts or switches to inter-group conflicts. This is deliberately created so that actors gain sympathy, support, even assistance from members of their group. Secondly, clashes between student groups tend to increase. This is because each conflicting group has seeds of conflict symptoms which at any time give a strong contribution to student’s aggressive behavior, in the form of group prejudice, ethnocentrism, and discrimination. Lastly, when compared with the existing conflict symptoms, group prejudice ranks first in contributing to the emergence of student aggressive behavior tendencies (ry2 = 0.98 or 98%), followed by discrimination (0.96 or 96%), and ethnocentrism (0.94 or 94%).

Abstract: This article aims to describe the form of teacher apperception in early reading and writing learning for young children in the biMBA AIUEO. This study uses a qualitative approach to the ...design of field studies. Based on the results of the study, it was found that in apperception teachers in learning to begin reading can be classified into three things, namely analogy, question-answer, singing. First, use an analogy. The analogy conducted by the teacher includes (1) analogy using flashcard media, (2) analogy using objects and or symbols. Second, do question and answer. Question and answer that is done by the teacher includes questioning the old or previous material and question-answer of new material. Third, do the singing. Singing activities performed by the teacher use the BDG-KMPSY song.
Abstrak: Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan wujud apersepsi guru dalam pembelajaran membaca permulaan bagi anak usia dini di biMBA AIUEO. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi lapangan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa dalam apersepsi guru dalam pembelajaran membaca permulaan dapat diklasifikasikan menjadi tiga temuan, yaitu analogi, tanya-jawab, bernyanyi. Pertama, menggunakan analogi. Analogi yang dilakukan oleh guru, meliputi (1) analogi menggunakan media flashcard dan (2) analogi menggunakan benda atau simbol. Kedua, melakukan tanya-jawab. Tanya-jawab yang dilakukan oleh guru, meliputi tanya-jawab materi lama atau sebelumnya dan tanya-jawab materi baru. Ketiga, melakukan kegiatan bernyanyi. Kegiatan bernyanyi yang dilakukan guru menggunakan lagu BDG-KMPSY.
Abstract: This study aims to describe teacher’s specch motivation technique in learning interaction. The method used in this study is refer and extralingual equivalent. The refer method is used to ...obtain research data. The extralingual equivalent method is used for data analysis. There are two findings presented in this study. Frist, the speech technique used by the teacher to motivation is giving questions for students with mention of student names, singular pronouns, mentioning word to designate more then one person. Secound, the speech technique of attract attention of students by the teacher is speech sung, information, commands, and analogy for student.
Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan teknik tutur guru ketika memotivasi siswa melalui interkasi pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan berupa metode simak dan padan ekstarlingual. Metode simak digunakan untuk pemerolehan data penelitian. Metode padan ekstralingual digunakan untuk analisis data. Ada dua hasil temuan yang dipaparkan dalam penelitian ini. Pertama, teknik tutur guru untuk memotivasi siswa berupa pemberian pertanyaan dengan penunjukan langsung, penyebutan nama, kata ganti orang kedua tunggal, dan penyebutan orang kedua jamak. Kedua, teknik tutur penarikan perhatian siswa oleh guru. Teknik tutur penarikan perhatian diwujudkan guru dalam tuturan yang dinyanyikan, penyampaian informasi faktual, perintah, dan penganalogian.
This research was aimed to explain the relationship between learning attitudes and the quality of the contents of scientific writing of class XI students. Learning attitudes include (1) attitude to ...accept learning and (2) attitude to respond to various things related to learning. The design of this study is correlation research. The results showed that there was a non-significant negative relationship between learning attitudes and the quality of the contents of scientific papers.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan hubungan sikap belajar dengan kualitas isi karya tulis ilmiah siswa kelas XI. Sikap belajar, meliputi (1) sikap menerima pembelajaran dan (2) sikap menanggapi berbagai hal terkait pembelajaran. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif yang tidak signifikan antara sikap belajar dengan kualitas isi karya tulis ilmiah.
This qualitative research aims described the politeness of response to the directive speech in the movie Alangkah Lucunya Negeri Ini. This study uses a qualitative approach to the type of social ...ethnographic research, especially sociopragmatic. The results showed that the politeness response in the movie Alangkah Lucunya Negeri Ini emphasized from the (1) forms, (2) functions, and (3) strategies of speech. Each of that showed the politeness response directive speech.Abstrak: Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesantunan respon terhadap tuturan direktif dalam film Alangkah Lucunya Negeri Ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian etnografi sosial, khusunya sosiopragmatik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kesantunan Respon dalam film Alangkah Lucunya Negeri Ini dapat dilihat dari segi (1) wujud, (2) fungsi, dan (3) strategi tuturan. Masing-masing aspek menunjukkan kesantunan dalam merespon tuturan direktif.
