. Detailed polarization observations may help us to understand the emission mechanism. However, the available FRB polarization data have been perplexing, because they show a host of polarimetric properties, including either a constant polarization angle during each burst for some repeaters
or variable polarization angles in some other apparently one-off events
. Here we report observations of 15 bursts from FRB 180301 and find various polarization angle swings in seven of them. The diversity of the polarization angle features of these bursts is consistent with a magnetospheric origin of the radio emission, and disfavours the radiation models invoking relativistic shocks.
Obesity is considered as a chronic disease that can induce a series of comorbidities and complications. Chinese medicine has long clinical experiences in the treatment of obesity. This review ...summarizes the natural products from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) that are reported to have anti‐obesity effects in the past two decades. Botanic TCM comprises 90% of total Chinese crude drugs, and generally contains various active ingredients, in which the effective anti‐obesity ingredients identified can be divided into saponins, polysaccharides, alkaloids, polyphenols and others. Astragaloside IV, glycyrrhizin, macrostemonoside A, berberine, betaine, capsaicin, matrine, methyl piperate, piperine, rutaecarpine, asimilobine, epigallocatechingallate, magnolol, resveratrol, soybean‐isoflavone, α‐linolenic acid, emodin, geniposide, phillyrin, salidroside and ursolic acid are specified in this review, and their sources, models, efficacy are described. It is concluded that the mechanisms of these components for the treatment of obesity include: (i) suppression of appetite, increase of satiety, reduction of energy intake; (ii) reduction in the digestion and absorption of exogenous lipid; (iii) attenuation of the synthesis of endogenous lipid; (iv) promotion of the oxidation and expenditure of lipid and (v) improvement of lipid metabolism disorder. Authors believe that the effective compounds from TCM will provide an alternative and hopeful way for the treatment of obesity.
Magnetic cellulose/Fe₃O₄/activated carbon composites (m-Cell/Fe₃O₄/ACCs) were prepared successfully and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET), thermogravimetric ...analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The adsorption of congo red onto the novel m-Cell/Fe₃O₄/ACCs was studied as a function of contact time, initial concentration of congo red, adsorbent dosage, and pH of solution. The saturated magnetization of m-Cell/Fe₃O₄/ACCs reached 48.2emug⁻¹ and the magnetic adsorbent showed characteristics of superparamagnetism, which indicated that m-Cell/Fe₃O₄/ACCs could be separated from treated solution by a magnetic process. A comparison of kinetic models showed that the overall adsorption process was best described by pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Thermodynamic analysis indicated an exothermic nature of adsorption and a spontaneous and favorable process. The m-Cell/Fe₃O₄/ACCs might be a promising candidate of high efficiency, low cost and convenient separation under magnetic field.
Social networks have recently been widely explored in many fields; these networks are composed of a set of autonomous social actors and the interaction relations among them. Multiagent computing has ...already been widely envisioned to be a powerful paradigm for modeling autonomous multientity systems; therefore, it is promising to connect the research on social networks and multiagent systems. In general, there are three views for research on social networks: the structure-oriented view, in which only the network structure characteristics among actors are considered, the actor-oriented view, in which only the behavior characteristics of actors are considered, and the actor-structure crossing view, in which both actors and network structures are considered and their crossing effects are explored. This survey paper mainly concerns studies on social networks that have the last two views and discusses the relationship between social networks and multiagent systems. Because coordination is critical for both multiagent systems and social networks, this paper classifies studies on social networks that are based on the coordination mechanisms among the actors in the social networks. By referring to typical types of coordination situations in multiagent systems, social networks in previous studies can be classified into three classes: cooperative social networks, noncooperative social networks, and multiple social networks; for each class, this paper reviews the existing studies and discusses the challenge issues and possible future research directions. From this survey, we find that social networks can be understood well via a multiagent coordination perspective and also that many multiagent coordination techniques can be cogently applied in research on social networks. Moreover, this paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the multiagent coordination perspective by comparing with other perspectives on studying social networks.
Epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR TKI) represents a paradigm shift in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients and has been the first-line therapy ...in clinical practice. While erlotinib, gefitinib and afatinib have achieved superior efficacy in terms of progression-free survival and overall survival compared with conventional chemotherapy in NSCLC patients, most people inevitably develop acquired resistance to them, which presents another challenge in the treatment of NSCLC. The mechanisms of acquired resistance can be classified as three types: target gene mutation, bypass signaling pathway activation and histological transformation. And the most common mechanism is T790M which accounts for approximately 50% of all subtypes. Many strategies have been explored to overcome the acquired resistance to EGFR TKI. Continuation of EGFR TKI beyond progressive disease is confined to patients in asymptomatic stage when the EGFR addiction is still preserved in some subclones. While the combination of EGFR TKI and chemotherapy or other targeted agents has improved the survival benefit in EGFR TKI resistant patients, there are controversies within them. The next-generation EGFR TKI and immunotherapy represent two novel directions for overcoming acquired resistance and have achieved promising efficacy. Liquid biopsy provides surveillance of the EGFR mutation by disclosing the entire genetic landscape but tissue biopsy is still indispensable because of the considerable rate of false-negative plasma.
In this communication, we successfully synthesized a new SnO2 nanoarchitecture: extremely thin sheets, with minimum thicknesses of 1.5−3.0 nm. The products were prepared through a facile hydrothermal ...treatment using tin dichloride as the precursor. Planar or scrolled SnO2 sheets were carefully examined by transmission electron microscopy. The assemblies of these sheets have a high BET surface area of 180.3 m2/g and extraordinarily large pore volume of 1.028 cm3/g. They also exhibit a high lithium storage capacity and excellent cyclability due to its nanometer-sized frame and breathable characteristic.
We investigate the current-induced switching of the Néel order in NiO(001)/Pt heterostructures, which is manifested electrically via the spin Hall magnetoresistance. Significant reversible changes in ...the longitudinal and transverse resistances are found at room temperature for a current threshold lying in the range of 10^{7} A/cm^{2}. The order-parameter switching is ascribed to the antiferromagnetic dynamics triggered by the (current-induced) antidamping torque, which orients the Néel order towards the direction of the writing current. This is in stark contrast to the case of antiferromagnets such as Mn_{2}Au and CuMnAs, where fieldlike torques induced by the Edelstein effect drive the Néel switching, therefore resulting in an orthogonal alignment between the Néel order and the writing current. Our findings can be readily generalized to other biaxial antiferromagnets, providing broad opportunities for all-electrical writing and readout in antiferromagnetic spintronics.
Effective targeted therapy for non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) mutations remains an unmet need. This study investigated the antitumor ...effect of an irreversible pan-HER receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor, pyrotinib.
Using patient-derived organoids and xenografts established from an HER2-A775_G776YVMA-inserted advanced lung adenocarcinoma patient sample, we investigated the antitumor activity of pyrotinib. Preliminary safety and efficacy of pyrotinib in 15 HER2-mutant NSCLC patients in a phase II clinical trial are also presented.
Pyrotinib showed significant growth inhibition of organoids relative to afatinib in vitro (P = 0.0038). In the PDX model, pyrotinib showed a superior antitumor effect than afatinib (P = 0.0471) and T-DM1 (P = 0.0138). Mice treated with pyrotinib displayed significant tumor burden reduction (mean tumor volume, −52.2%). In contrast, afatinib (25.4%) and T-DM1 (10.9%) showed no obvious reduction. Moreover, pyrotinib showed a robust ability to inhibit pHER2, pERK and pAkt. In the phase II cohort of 15 patients with HER2-mutant NSCLC, pyrotinib 400 mg resulted in a objective response rate of 53.3% and a median progression-free survival of 6.4 months.
Pyrotinib showed activity against NSCLC with HER2 exon 20 mutations in both patient-derived organoids and a PDX model. In the clinical trial, pyrotinib showed promising efficacy.

) up to 24 Tesla. At low temperatures (
T
), the observed CDW peaks reveal two distinct regions in the material: a majority phase with short-range CDW coexisting with superconductivity, and a minority phase with longer-range CDW coexisting with static spin density wave (SDW). With increasing magnetic field, the CDW first grows smoothly in a manner similar to the SDW. However, at high fields we discover a sudden increase in the CDW amplitude upon entering the vortex-liquid state. Our results signify strong coupling of the CDW to mobile superconducting vortices and link enhanced CDW amplitude with local superconducting pairing across the
H
−
T
phase diagram.
