Since 2002, over 100 “new” Dead Sea Scrolls fragments have appeared on the antiquities market. They are commonly described as “post-2002 Dead Sea Scrolls-like fragments”. In this article, we present ...a comprehensive dataset of these fragments, significantly expanding upon Eibert J. C. Tigchelaar’s landmark article “A Provisional List of Unprovenanced, Twenty-First Century, Dead Sea Scrolls-like Fragments” from 2017. Even though the fragments are now commonly believed to be modern forgeries, they continue to impact Dead Sea Scrolls research and market-leading Bible study applications like Accordance and Logos. Our open-access database provides a systematic, accessible, and comprehensive repository for the post-2002 fragments and associated data enabling researchers to streamline research efforts and foster collaboration.
The present article argues that the concept of predestination does not on the whole lend itself to Qumran studies. Unlike the writings of Augustine and Calvin, the scrolls contain nothing like a ...doctrine of predestination. The article reviews several texts from 1QS, 1QH, and CD, generally understood to reflect predestination, and suggests other ways of describing and interpreting the material.

(2016). All four are today accepted as part of the Dead Sea Scrolls dataset even though they are unprovenanced and have made-up—or at least very adaptable—lists of previous owners. In this article, we will critically review their provenance and discuss the lack of proper interest in provenance on the part of the collector who owns them and the scholars who published them.

De seneste femten årene har mer enn 70 nye dødehavsrullfragmenter kommet på antikvitetsmarkedet. Fragmentene kommer med storslåtte opphavshistorier, men er alle av usikker opprinnelse. Over 90 % av ...dem er trolig forfalskninger. Denne artikkelen følger særlig ett av fragmentene, DSS F.154 (5 Mos 27,4–6, også kalt «Har Garizim-fragmentet»), for å vise hvordan en forfalskning lanseres, aksepteres og etter hvert blir en del av datasettet.
