The book argues for theorizing material culture in categories cyclical and circular processes underlying the materiality and mediality of things. The basic assumption is that a constantly shifting formation of devices, methods, techniques, and technologies is responding to a need to overcome the opacity of the circulation and life cycles of artifacts. The book explores thing-cyclographical formats such as It-Narratives, the avant-gardist literatura fakta, scientific, aesthetic, documentarist object biographies in different media, and tracking-technologies in logistics.
Textile work can be interpreted as physical evidence of human thought and actions. Generally artifacts are examined and interpreted as a material expression of culture. This article offers another ...way of looking at textile patterns, focusing on their production processes. Consequently, textile techniques need to be described in order to demonstrate the constitutional skills of textile patterns. The analysis of textile pattern is, according to this thesis, not undertaken within a style or design history or as part of theories on ornament. A techno-morphological description reflects on spatial conditions and production techniques.
The formulated definition of the term "pattern" introduces the ideas of rhythm, symmetry, repetition, and dimension. These keywords lead to further reflections on patterns of more general interest. Research in different disciplines, predominantly in the natural sciences, deals with all kind of patterns. Cognitive sciences state that pattern matching and pattern construction are required means of complexity reduction, a key function of human behavior. The prerequisites for pattern recognition, the significance of patterns, and its cultural implications within scientific theory are usually not discussed. Here, pattern analysis is proposed as an analytical tool in the search for subjective influences, e.g. in scientific display. Formulating the epistemological function of patterns may benefit interdisciplinary research and support the interface between cultural and natural sciences.

Additionally, they must be harmonized with translation initiation factors (eIF3, cap-binding protein Cdc33, eIF2A) and mRNA-binding/ribosome-charging proteins (Scp160, Sro9). The Rps/uS-BioID perspectives revealed substantial Asc1/RACK1-dependent

Abstract
Recent oncological studies identified beneficial properties of radiation applied at ultrahigh dose rates, several orders of magnitude higher than the clinical standard of the order of Gy min

. Sources capable of providing these ultrahigh dose rates are under investigation. Here we show that a stable, compact laser-driven proton source with energies greater than 60 MeV enables radiobiological in vivo studies. We performed a pilot irradiation study on human tumours in a mouse model, showing the concerted preparation of mice and laser accelerator, dose-controlled, tumour-conform irradiation using a laser-driven as well as a clinical reference proton source, and the radiobiological evaluation of irradiated and unirradiated mice for radiation-induced tumour growth delay. The prescribed homogeneous dose of 4 Gy was precisely delivered at the laser-driven source. The results demonstrate a complete laser-driven proton research platform for diverse user-specific small animal models, able to deliver tunable single-shot doses up to around 20 Gy to millimetre-scale volumes on nanosecond timescales, equivalent to around 10

Abstract
The ongoing SARS-CoV-2 pandemic necessitates the fast development of vaccines. Recently, viral mutants termed variants of concern (VOC) which may escape host immunity have emerged. The ...efficacy of spike encoding mRNA vaccines (CVnCoV and CV2CoV) against the ancestral strain and the VOC B.1.351 was tested in a K18-hACE2 transgenic mouse model. Naive mice and mice immunized with a formalin-inactivated SARS-CoV-2 preparation were used as controls. mRNA-immunized mice develop elevated SARS-CoV-2 RBD-specific antibody and neutralization titers which are readily detectable, but significantly reduced against VOC B.1.351. The mRNA vaccines fully protect from disease and mortality caused by either viral strain. SARS-CoV-2 remains undetected in swabs, lung, or brain in these groups. Despite lower neutralizing antibody titers compared to the ancestral strain BavPat1, CVnCoV and CV2CoV show complete disease protection against the novel VOC B.1.351 in our studies.
