The paper considers approaches to assessing the technical condition of the inking unit drive of printing machinery in the work environment. As the main diagnostic feature, it is proposed to use the ...noise spectrum, created when working with inking systems. Reasons for noise of inking systems are considered. To create a mathematical model of sound radiation by quill cylinders of inking system, it is shown that behaviour is described by oscillation equation of tubular girder. Theoretical research has shown, there is a possibility in principle to use the noise spectrum emitted by the inking system to diagnose the technical condition of its drive. To improve the accuracy of diagnosis, it is proposed to use neural network technology of image identification.

TWA, yields of cumulative charged
mesons have been measured in a fragmentation of carbon ions with the energy of 3.2 ...GeV/nucleon on a beryllium target. The momentum spectra of
mesons cover four orders of the invariant cross section magnitude. They demonstrate the exponential fall with increasing energy. The measured inverse slope parameter is compared with similar measurements in nucleon–nucleus interactions and ion–ion collisions at lower energies. The energy dependence of the ratio of the yields of negative to positive
mesons is presented. This dependence is discussed in a connection with Coulomb and isotopic effects. The obtained data are compared with predictions of several ion–ion interaction models.
Bladder neck contracture (BNC) is a complication of the surgical treatment of benign and malignant prostate conditions and is associated with the partial or complete blockage of urination. Correction ...of this condition usually requires repeated surgical intervention, which does not guarantee recovery. Balloon dilation is a minimally invasive alternative to the surgical dissection of tissues; however, it significantly reduces the patient’s quality of life. Additional local anti-inflammatory treatment may reduce the number of procedures requested and increase the attractiveness of this therapeutic strategy. Here, we report about an ultrathin biocompatible coating based on polylactic acid for Foley catheter balloons that can provide localized release of Prednol-L in the range of 56–99 µg in the BNC zone under conventional diagnostic ultrasound exposure. Note that the exposure of a transrectal probe with a conventional gray-scale ultrasound regimen with and without shear wave elastography (SWE) was comparably effective for Prednol-L release from the coating surface of a Foley catheter balloon. This strategy does not require additional manipulations by clinicians. The trigger for the drug release is the ultrasound exposure, which is applied for visualization of the balloon’s location during the dilation process. In vivo experiments demonstrated the absence of negative effects of the usage of a coated Foley catheter for balloon dilation of the bladder neck and urethra.
Phase behavior of methane–pentane mixture and anomalies of the isochoric heat capacity Cρ,x and the derivative (∂P/∂T)ρ,х have been studied experimentally in the vicinity of liquid–vapor critical ...point at three pentane concentrations, namely, for 0.0196, 0.0345, and 0.096mol fraction of pentane. It has been shown that for two low pentane concentrations the behavior of the heat capacity Cρ,x and (∂P/∂T)ρ,х differs substantially from both theoretically predicted and experimentally observed behavior of the properties in other mixtures. We suggest that the reason of such unusual behavior is caused by the proximity of the mixture critical locus to the tricritical point at low pentane concentrations. On the other hand dew–bubble curves (DBC) of the methane–pentane mixtures for all studied concentrations do not exhibit any special features and thus can be described theoretically within the scope of the conventional scaling approach.
•The suppression of the typical cusp-like anomalies of the isochoric heat capacity has been observed for methane–pentane mixtures with low pentane concentrations.•The unexpected thermodynamic behavior is caused by the proximity of the mixture critical points to the tricritical point.•Simplified universal dew–bubble curve equations remain valid to describe the obtained experimental data with high accuracy.•Calculated values of the mixture critical densities are in agreement with experimental results.

Highly dispersed Rh particles supported on Ce0.75Zr0.25O2-δ mixed with alumina were prepared by sorption-hydrolytic deposition technique. Produced catalyst exhibited high activity in autothermal reforming of n-hexadecane, but suffered from coking. Structured Rh/Ce0.75Zr0.25O2-δ-ƞ-Al2O3/FeCrAl catalyst was prepared by strongly bound catalytic coating deposition onto metallic wire mesh to provide effective heat transfer and avoid coking. Rh/Ce0.75Zr0.25O2-δ-ƞ-Al2O3/FeCrAl showed excellent performance in n-hexadecane autothermal reforming providing 100% conversion and stable operation for at least 12 h on stream without detection of any carbon deposits.
The aim of the study, results of which are presented in this paper, is to analyse methods and tools for constructing an ontology related to solving compute-intensive problems and to form algorithms ...of its use. This problem arises from the need to solve problems using modern and future supercomputers, containing millions and, in the long term, billions of simultaneously operating computing cores and having a huge degree of parallelism. In solving such problems, the researcher should be well versed in both computational methods for solving the problem and modern supercomputer technologies, which is not always the case. One of the solutions to this problem is the creation of a knowledge base that includes ontological descriptions of methods for solving compute-intensive problems and architectures of supercomputers that can be used to solve them. The development of ontologies for a given subject area is one of the most important stage in creating an intelligent support system for solving specific compute-intensive problems. The paper discusses the methods and tools that are used to build the ontology. The paper also presents examples of the development of ontologies for astrophysics and geophysics problems.

•Systematic approach realizes common features between related and unrelated diseases.•Neural network can use both meaningful and unassigned mass spectrometry-based data.•Convolutional ...neural network discriminates closely related phenotypes.•Neural network suggests comorbidity between schizophrenia and oncophenotypes.
The association between cancer risk and schizophrenia is widely debated. Despite many epidemiological studies, there is still no strong evidence regarding the molecular basis for the comorbidity between these two pathological conditions. The vast majority of assays have been performed using clinical records of schizophrenic patients or those undergoing cancer treatment and monitored for sufficient time to find shared features between the considered conditions. We performed mass spectrometry-based proteomic and metabolomic investigations of patients with different cancer phenotypes (breast, ovarian, renal, and prostate) and patients with schizophrenia. The resulting vast quantity of proteomic and metabolomic data were then processed using systems biology and one-dimensional (1D) convolutional neural network (1DCNN) machine learning approaches. Traditional systematic approaches permit the segregation of schizophrenia and cancer phenotypes on the level of biological processes, while 1DCNN recognized “signatures” that could segregate distinct cancer phenotypes and schizophrenia at the comorbidity level. The designed network efficiently discriminated unrelated pathologies with a model accuracy of 0.90 and different subtypes of oncophenotypes with an accuracy of 0.94. The proposed strategy integrates systematic analysis of identified compounds and application of 1DCNN model for unidentified ones to reveal the similarity between distinct phenotypes.
A new method to determine the spin tune is described and tested. In an ideal planar magnetic ring, the spin tune-defined as the number of spin precessions per turn-is given by ν(s)=γG (γ is the ...Lorentz factor, G the gyromagnetic anomaly). At 970 MeV/c, the deuteron spins coherently precess at a frequency of ≈120 kHz in the Cooler Synchrotron COSY. The spin tune is deduced from the up-down asymmetry of deuteron-carbon scattering. In a time interval of 2.6 s, the spin tune was determined with a precision of the order 10^{-8}, and to 1×10^{-10} for a continuous 100 s accelerator cycle. This renders the presented method a new precision tool for accelerator physics; controlling the spin motion of particles to high precision is mandatory, in particular, for the measurement of electric dipole moments of charged particles in a storage ring.

It is demonstrated in this study that a decrease in the rate of irreversible age-related thymus atrophy affects animal longevity. It was observed that the life span of rats may be increased by ...thymus transplantation from young animals into the immune privileged regions of ageing rats. It has been shown that the season of birth has effects on animal longevity, namely, rats born in the spring–summer period live shorter lives than those born in autumn or winter.
