Paint applied as a single layer, and its spontaneous separation to form a primer and a top coat, is one of the newest concepts of the effective and economical application of two layers in one step. ...The influence of the molecular weight of epoxy oligomer and acrylic polymer and their ratio on self-stratification was investigated. The degree of stratification depending on molecular weight and their mutual ratio was determined using ATR-FTIR spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, microscopy techniques, adhesion tests, and surface tension measurements. Phase separation and self-stratification of two-component homogenous mixtures were followed using FTIR technique and surface tension measurements. As a result of these investigations, optimal oligomeric/polymeric composition was selected. The obtained coating system showed good mechanical properties, gloss, and interlayer adhesion.
The approach for extension of dynamic range of photo detectors based on application of optical synchronization method is presented. A method has been developed that makes it possible to use modern ...CMOS cameras as an optical radiation receiver and laser emitters as illuminators. An experimental evaluation of the effectiveness of the proposed approach was carried out. It is shown that the method allows several times to expand the dynamic range of the photodetector without making changes to the design of the photodetector.
Laser Doppler flowmetry is widely used in scientific studies of blood microcirculation but constrained in clinical use due to the low diagnostic significance.
This research is aimed at creation of ...approaches to prognostic value increase in detection of microcirculation disorders in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
The study included 10 volunteers and 10 patients with t2DM. Participants were observed using postural-heating test with LAKK-02 complex. We calculated median microcirculation for each period and then held a retroactive classification of the surveyed groups.
Statistically significant differences between groups were found in the perfusion during the combination of postural and heating impacts. Conversion of this perfusion in the relative index (Irel) (relative to the baseline perfusion), allowed us to increase the significance of the differences. The value of AUC (95% CI) during the ROC-analysis in reverse classification was 0.81 (0,60-1,0) for the period of the impacts combination, and 0.93 (0,81-1,0) for Irel index.
We demonstrated the possibility of using LDF method to achieve predictive value in the detection of microcirculatory disorders in an individual patient with diabetes. This extends the perspectives of the method beyond the purely scientific research.

Models of intertemporal consumption choice posit that consumption reacts more strongly to income shocks with persistent effects than to shocks with temporary effects. This prediction is tested using ...data from the Estonian Household Budget Surveys for 2002–07. Questions in the survey make it possible to distinguish between two income components of different persistence, using the individual households’ subjective income classification. Estimations confirm that households distinguish income components of different persistence and react to these differently; the consumption response to income shocks with persistent effects is significantly higher than the response to shocks with only temporary effects. Further analysis reveals, however, that consumption also reacts to lagged shocks to temporary income even when the households are not liquidity constrained, suggesting that their behavior is not fully consistent with the standard forward‐looking unconstrained consumption models.

Purpose: The aim of this study was evaluating changes in the photosensitizer fluorescence in vivo in the radiation-induced damage area in comparison of intact areas with a simultaneous assessment of ...changes both in blood parameters and in histological data.
Materials and methods: The study was conducted in white outbred SHK mice (n = 21). Their right hindlimbs were irradiated with a dose of 25 Gy after the intraperitoneal injections of photosensitizer 'Photosens'. Fluorescence intensity was traced in vivo by a laser diagnostic system for seven weeks. Simultaneously, histological examination of the damaged areas and blood tests were performed.
Results: An increased intensity of the laser-induced fluorescence of the photosensitizer 'Photosens' in the damaged areas, compared to the intact symmetrical ones was observed. Laboratory blood tests and histological examination showed changes that may indicate the occurrence of inflammation.
Conclusion: Enhanced intensity of the exogenous fluorescence of the photosensitizer in the radiation-induced inflammation of noncancerous tissues was observed. The obtained results may potentially affect an interpretation of the results of intraoperative tumors navigation that have been previously irradiated and can be used for selection of an individualized dose fractionation algorithm in radiology.

Currently, a unified approach to the treatment of peptic ulcer of the upper gastrointestinal tract has been developed, based on knowledge of the pathogenesis of the disease. However, standard methods ...of conservative and surgical treatment do not bring positive results to a number of patients. The reason may lie in the impossibility of establishing the true etiological factor of this pathology. It must be remembered that patients with of the gastroduodenal zone are not a homogeneous group and require a differentiated approach to diagnosis and treatment. The article describes a clinical case of successful of complicated ulcerative lesions of the gastric and duodenal mucosa, resistant to various methods of conservative and surgical treatment.
In this paper we estimate an extended version of the previously estimated small open economy dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model for Estonia (Gelain and Kulikov 2009). Here we introduce ...financial frictions, in the form of the so-called financial accelerator. Our main findings are: (1) financial frictions improve the ability of the model to fit the data; (2) the financial shock is relevant in explaining the variance of the macroeconomic variables; (3) impulse response functions describe the expected amplification of shocks, except for some of them (e.g., the technology shock); and (4) all of the nominal and real rigidities are important for obtaining a better fit of the model, with the exception of real wages.
In this paper the author attempts to interpret traditional, epigraphic and archaeological sources of the history of the late Shang state as evidence of the practice of ritual cannibalism. One of the ...religious concentrations of the Late Shang culture was large-scale regular human sacrifices regulated by the state. The ritual consumption of human flesh was a part of these sacrifices ensuring continuous communication of people with sacred forces. The author believes that the anthropophagic rituals of the Shang kings were a way of acquiring magical power which consisted in sacrificial food. Satisfying the gastronomic needs of their royal ancestors was employed by the Shang kings to increase their own sacred authority and power allowing them to maintain social stability and order in the state and thereby act as a guarantor of public well-being.
