The purpose of this work was to study the dynamics of structural manifestations of acute cases of postpartum endometritis in cows.
The light and electron microscopy methods were used when studying ...structural changes in the endometrium in case of postpartum endometritis in seven cows. Sections of endometrial specimens for light microscopy, 5-7 µm thick, were stained with hematoxylin and eosin and also by Van Gieson's. For electron microscopy, semi-thin sections were stained with Azur-2 in combination with basic fuchsin, as well as contrasting by lead citrate and uranyl acetate.
As a result of the study, we have established the following: Necrobiosis of the epithelial layer of the mucosa, cellular infiltration with shaped elements of blood in the functional layer, swelling of the cells of the uterine gland, and single microbial cells on the surface of the mucosa. We have noted edema of the stroma of the functional layer of the endometrium, swelling of the epithelial layer of the endometrial mucosa, and swelling of fibroblastic and lymphoid cells. Ultrastructural changes in endometrial cells in case of acute postpartum endometritis in cows are accompanied by the destruction of microvilli on the apical surface of the epithelium, an abundance of coccal microflora on the surface of the epithelium, necrobiosis of epithelial cells, and partial edema of the nucleus, and cytoplasm of the histiocyte.
We had established that acute purulent-catarrhal dystrophic processes were observed in the structural organization of the endometrium. In the depth of catarrhal mucus on the surface of the endometrium, there was an abundance of bacterial flora, with diplococci being prevalent. In ultrastructural organization of the endometrium, we observed deep dystrophic and necrobiotic processes in the parenchyma and endometrial stroma, as well as exudative processes with a change in the integrity of the microcirculatory bed. Thus, to prevent an inflammatory process from turning into a latent form, it is necessary to detect acute postpartum endometritis promptly using diagnostic methods taking into account the obtained parameters of the dynamics of structural changes in the uterine tissues.
On November 18, 1929, a
M=7.2 earthquake occurred at the southern edge of the Grand Banks, 280 km south of Newfoundland. The earthquake triggered a large submarine slope failure (200 km
3), which was ...transformed into a turbidity current carrying mud and sand eastward up to 1000 km at estimated speeds of about 60–100 km/h, breaking 12 telegraph cables. The tsunami generated by this failure killed 28 people, making it the most catastrophic tsunami in Canadian history. Tsunami waves also were observed along other parts of the Atlantic coast of Canada and the United States. Waves crossing the Atlantic were recorded on the coasts of Portugal and the Azores Islands. Tsunami waves had amplitudes of 3–8 m and runup of up to 13 m along the coast of the Burin Peninsula (Newfoundland). To simulate the slide-generated tsunami from this event, our initial analysis uses a shallow-water model; the slide was assumed to be a viscous, incompressible fluid layer; water was inviscid and incompressible. The preliminary results of the numerical modeling are encouraging, with computed and observed tsunami arrival times in reasonable agreement.
In this work, the development of a superconducting joint between GdBa2Cu3O7−x-based second-generation high temperature superconducting tapes using a thin YBa2Cu3O7−x intermediate layer is presented. ...The critical current of the superconducting joint was 18 A, which is about 30% of the current in the original tape. The persistent field decay of the one-turn loop showed a joint resistance of less than 6 10−13 at 77 K.
A liposomal form of dexamethasone was obtained. Liposomal vesicles were formed. The efficiency of incorporating dexamethasone into the liposomes was 99.7%. The cytotoxicity of the obtained liposomes ...was studied on a culture of human lung fibroblast cells using the MTT assay. The toxicity of liposomal dexamethasone was less than that of dexamethasone solution after a 24-h incubation. The half-maximum inhibitory concentration (IC
50
) was not achieved after 24 h when exposed to liposomal dexamethasone whereas IC
50
was 27.5 mg/mL for lecithin (empty liposomes) and 177 µg/mL for dexamethasone solution. The toxicity of liposomal dexamethasone increased much more than that of dexamethasone solution after 48 h of incubation with IC
50
values of 36 and 156 µg/mL, respectively. Thus, the liposomal form of dexamethasone has a latent period for implementation of the cytostatic (antiproliferative) action. Experiments on laboratory white rats of both sexes revealed that the inhalation use of liposomal dexamethasone insignificantly changed the functional parameters of their respiratory and cardiovascular systems. The study results could be used for conducting clinical trials.
To identify factors affecting the effectiveness of NSAIDs in patients with OA and LBP.
An observational study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of a 2-week course of NSAIDs in OA and LBP in ...real clinical practice. The study group consisted of 3604 patients with OA and LBP (60.6% women and 39.4% men, mean age 55.0±13.4 years). According to the study design, aceclofenac (Airtal) and other NSAIDs used in the ratio 1:1. The main criterion of effectiveness was the frequency of complete pain relief after 2 weeks of therapy. In addition, the decrease of pain and general health were determined on a 10-point numerical rating scale (NRS). We compared the frequency of complete pain relief in patients who had and did not have the studied factors. The value of the studied factors was determined using OR (95% CI).
Most patients received aceclofenac (54.9%), as well as diclofenac (2.0%), ketoprofen (1.9%), lornoxicam (2.2%), meloxicam (13.7%), naproxen (2.1%), nimesulide (5.8%), celecoxib (5.9%), ethicoxib (7.1%) and other NSAIDs (4.4%); 56.2% of patients received muscle relaxants, mainly tolperisone (74.7%), vitamin B (10.4%), and proton pump inhibitors (42.8%). Complete pain relief was achieved in 54.8% of patients. The pain decrease and general health improvement were (for NRS) 63.9±13.4% and 61.7±14.8%, respectively. The efficacy of aceclofenac was slightly higher than in the whole group: complete pain relief was in 59.9% of patients. Adverse events in aceclofenac use were observed in 2.3% of patients, other NSAIDs-from 2.4 to 14.1%. The frequency of complete pain relief was higher in men: OR 1,239 (95% CI 1.08-1.418; p=0.002), who had the first episode of pain - OR 3.341 (95% CI 2.873-3.875; p=0.000), a good" response " to NSAIDs in history - OR 1.656 (95% CI 1.385-1.980; p=0.000) and received NSAIDs in combination with muscle relaxants - OR 1.218 (95% CI 1.067-1.390; p=0.004). The effect of therapy is lower in patients 65 years and older-OR 0,378 (95% CI 0.324-0.442; p=0,000), with body mass index >30 kg/m² - OR 0.619 (95% CI 0.529-0.723; p=0.000), with severe pain (≥7 points NRS) - OR 0.662 (95% CI 0.580-0.756; p=0.002), with pain at rest, - OR 0.515 (95% CI 0.450-0,589; p=0.000), pain at night - OR 0.581 (95% CI 0.501-0.672; p=0.000) and the presence of stiffness - OR 0.501 (95% CI 0.438-0,573; p=0.000). Treatment results are significantly worse in the cases of combination of LBP and joint pain, as well as pain in the trochanter major and pes anserinus area (p<0.001).
NSAIDs are the first-line medications for the pain treatment in LBP and OA. Aceclofenac is effective and safe in this conditions. When carrying out analgesic therapy should take into account factors that affect the effectiveness of treatment: old age, overweight, insufficient effect of NSAIDs in history, severe pain, signs of "inflammatory" pain, multiple sources of pain.

wolfram cellular automata are considered and their operation is demonstrated using an example of traffic flow simulation. For the class of one-dimensional elementary cellular automata, the concept of ...linearity is introduced in the language of Zhegalkin operators. An algorithm for finding linear Zhegalkin operators with multipliers of three variables is presented. The algorithm is implemented in Python.

The results of ground-based microwave observations of ozone in the middle atmosphere in Apatity (67° N, 33° E) during three winters (2017–2018, 2018–2019 and 2019–2020) are presented. Long-term ozone ...observations were carried out during the period of minimum solar activity for cycles 24 and 25. A mobile microwave spectrometer with an operating frequency of 110.8 GHz was used in the measurements, which allows tracking the behavior of ozone in the middle atmosphere with a 15-min time resolution. The microwave ozone data from ground-based measurements are compared with the MLS/Aura onboard data. Ground and airborne data are compared with the data of contact measurements with ozonesondes at Sodankyla st. (67° N, 27° E). In addition, MLS/Aura data from mid-atmospheric temperature soundings are used to interpret perturbations in the ozone layer associated with sudden stratospheric warmings. A significant influence sudden stratospheric warming on the ozone vertical distribution at altitudes of 22–60 km was found. At the same time, the scale of mesospheric ozone variability (60 km) over Apatity is comparable or exceeds the known model calculations for assessing the impact of solar proton events and auroral electron precipitation on the ozone of the polar regions.
