The article presents a procedure to select loading and transportation machines for an open pit complex ore mine. The choice of a shovel–dump truck production system is validated using a statistical ...testing method (Monte Carlo technique). Stop-watch readings allowed relating the productivity of the production system, degree of ore fragmentation and content of oversizes; the soundness of the choice of the production system based on the revealed criterion was proved. Using the law of the Palm flows, the authors determine the number and sequence of dump trucks for loading in a one-server system.

The proposed fiber-optic device is an array of tapering cores in a common cladding. Possible applications of the device for radiation summation in multielement laser systems are discussed. ...The criterion is specified for the formation of the device parameters to obtain optically independent channels, which makes it possible to produce a narrow radiation beam in the far zone. Analytical expressions are derived for the radiation field in the far zone and the parameters of the device for obtaining a close-to-diffraction divergence. This device allows an unlimited increase in the number of emitters to increase the radiation power in a narrow beam.
This research investigates the sorption ability of bentonite clay from the Gerpegezh deposit concerning oxygen saturation in water. The study provides a quantitative assessment of the influence of ...bentonite on the oxygen regime. The findings indicate the feasibility of pre-calculating the mass of bentonite required for a given volume of water to achieve the desired degree of oxygen saturation. In conditions of oxygen deficiency, the introduction of 0.02 g of bentonite per liter of solution yields a significant improvement in the gas composition. Notably, the concentration of dissolved oxygen in water increases by more than 1 mg O
2
/L within the first two hours.

The results from measuring the density and surface tension of Sn–In melts via the sessile drop method in a helium atmosphere and at a residual gas pressure of 0.01 Pa are presented. The density ...polytherms of all samples are linear with negative temperature coefficients. In the range of 550–750°C, the surface tension falls linearly as the temperature rises.
At present, there is no uniform approach to the treatment of subclinical hypothyroidism (SH). The objective of the present study was to estimate the influence of normobaric hypoxytherapy on the ...thyroid status and immunological characteristics of the patients presenting with subclinical hypothyroidism.
The study involved 140 patients at the age varying from 18 to 60 years suffering from SH associated with autoimmune thyroiditis: 75 of them underwent a course of hypoxytherapy, the remaining 65 patients comprised the control group.
The changes in the immune status of the patients with SH were apparent as the depression of cellular immunity and activation of humoral immunity which confirmed the autoimmune nature of the disease. Hypoxytherapy caused positive changes in the immune status of the patients in the form of increased number of CD3+ and CD(8+)-cells, reduction of the number of CD(4+)-cells, and the normalization of the immunoregulatory index. The evaluation of the parameters of humoral immunity has demonstrated normalization of the total B-lymphocyte content along with the level of serum IgA, IgM, IgG, reduction of circulating immune complexes and anti-thyroid antibodies. These changes promoted the recovery of the thyroid function that manifested itself as the normalization of the blood thyroid-stimulating hormone level.
It is concluded that hypoxytherapy can be recommended as monotherapy for the treatment of subclinical hypothyroidism as a tool for the influence on the key components of pathogenesis of this disease and prevention of the manifestation of its clinically expressed form.
Because of the high incidence of endemic goiter in some regions of Russia, timely diagnosis of patients with endemic goiter during mass scale prophylactic examination of the population is an urgent ...public health problem. Methods for measurement of thyroid hormone concentration in blood serum are regarded as the most accurate methods of diagnosis of thyroid pathology. However, these methods are invasive and expensive, which makes it difficult to use them for mass scale prophylactic examination. Therefore, development of rapid reliable and inexpensive screening methods of diagnosis is an urgent problem of prophylactic medicine. Reflexometry is believed to be such a rapid, reliable, and inexpensive diagnostic screening method. Its results are easy to obtain and correlate with hormonal research data.
