This paper describes about a study protocol of phase I/II multicenter prospective clinical trial evaluating the feasibility and efficacy of the hybrid of intracavitary and interstitial brachytherapy ...(HBT) for locally advanced uterine cervical cancer patients.
Patients with histologically confirmed FIGO stage IB2, IIA2, IIB, and IIIB uterine cervical carcinoma width of which is larger than 5 cm assessed by MRI will be entered to this clinical trial. Protocol therapy is 30-30.6 Gy in 15-17 fractions of whole pelvic radiotherapy concurrent with weekly CDDP (40 mg/m(2)), followed by 24 Gy in 4 fractions of HBT and central shield EBRT up to 50-50.4 Gy in 25-28 fractions. Tumor width is assessed again within one week before the first HBT and if the tumor width is larger than 4 cm, patients proceed to the secondary registration. In phase I section, feasibility of this will be investigated. If less than 10 % out of 20 patients experienced greater than grade 3 acute non-hematologic adverse effects, the study proceeds to phase II part. In phase II part a total of 55 patients will be accrued and the efficacy of the HBT will be investigated comparing with historical control data. If the lower margin of 90 % confidence interval of the 2-year pelvic progression-free survival of the HBT trial is higher than 64 %, the HBT is considered to be more effective than conventional ICBT.
The aim of this study is to demonstrate the feasibility and efficacy of the HBT for locally advanced cervical cancer. This trial will clarify the indication, feasibility, and efficacy of this new technique.

Privacy impact assessment (PIA) has attracted the attention of privacy watchdogs and researchers for decades. This study focuses on a risk model and risk identification method, which are two crucial ...elements of the risk identification step in the PIA process. As a preparatory work, this article reviews national and international organizations' current templates and guidelines and finds that PIA guidance includes multiple domains but rarely provide a risk model or a systematic risk identification method. Based on the analysis, our study offers a risk model that can capture various privacy risk realization processes. It further proposes a combination of risk identification methods that correspond to the main target domains in the PIA and the proposed risk model. This combination consists of privacy principles of a given personal information or privacy rule to check compliance with the rule, and our suggested list of risk factors is useful in inductively finding potential risk scenarios that violate social expectations of privacy.
Early application of myoelectric prosthetic hand to children with congenital upper limb deficiency have been shown to be effective in acquiring familiarity with prosthetic hand and promoting ...movements using both hands. However, a robotic hand for prosthetic hand for infant is required to have a weight and size smaller than that of the infant's hand, also requires skill in the hand. These are in a trade-off relationship with each other. In addition, in order to reduce the cost of prosthetic hand and realize smooth application of prosthetic hand, a robot hand that can be used with a wide range of defects is required. In this study, we proposed a mechanism for a robotic hand of a myoelectric prosthetic hand for infants using a bevel gear and a DC motor. By using this mechanism, we have developed a lightweight and practical robotic hand that can be used with a wide range of defects. In addition, the gripping performance improved by searching for the shape of the finger parts of the robotic hand. Furthermore, we confirmed the effectiveness of the robotic hand by applying the developed robotic hand to infants with congenital upper limb defects.
Recently, multi-car elevator (MCE) system has captured attention as an effective mean for the improvement of transportation capability in a high-rise building. The MCE has two or more cars in one ...shaft. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for group controllers of MCE system, and show the effectiveness of our algorithm through computer simulation.
Summary
Tile art image generation is one of the non‐photorealistic rendering methods. The generated digital image resembles artistic representation given digital photos and illustrations. The first ...contribution of this paper is to propose a tile image generation based on the greedy approach. The greedy approach is based on the characteristic of the human visual system to optimize generated images. In addition, to shorten the computation time, we show the parallel algorithm and its GPU acceleration technique. We have implemented it on NVIDIA Tesla V100 GPU. The experimental result shows that the GPU implementation attains a speed‐up factor of 318 and 16.19 over the sequential CPU implementation and the parallel multi‐core CPU implementation with 160 threads, respectively. The second contribution of this paper is to propose an approximation method using machine learning with deep neural networks. After learning the network with the tile art images generated by the greedy approach as training dataset, it can generate tile art images that well‐reproduce the original images with tile patterns. Moreover, we show an additional machine learning technique by repeating the forwarding computation for the generated tile art image as an input image. As a result, using this technique, we can generate a tile art images with clear shape of tiles.
