The effect of acupuncture and moxibustion on myelogenic osteoclastogenesis and IL-6 mRNA expression is investigated. The result turns to be that the number of myelogenic osteoclasts in the model ...group is obviously bigger than in the sham operation group (P<0.01), and that in the acupuncture group is markedly smaller than in the model group (P<0.01). The IL-6 mRNA expression in the marrow cells of the model group is significantly elevated, as compared with that in the sham operation group (P<0.01), while the its elevation is lower in the acupuncture group than in the model group (P<0.01). It is therefore concluded that 1) acupuncture effectively modulates the secretion of and then to reduces IL-6 mRNA expression and 2) acupuncture decreases the number of myelogenic osteoclasts.
The effects of different levels of Cu2+ were studied individually on the growth of two Rhizobium strains and host plant growth, nodulation(%) and nitrogen fixation activity in A. auriculaeformis ...under solution culture conditions so as to explore a probability of utilization of the genus Acacia in revegetation of Cu(2+)-contaminated land. The results shows that Rhizobium sp. (Acacia auriculaeformis) had more stronger tolerance to Cu2+ iron than Rhizobium sp(Lespedeza formosa). The values of EC50 respectively achieved 0.129 mmol for Rhizobium sp. and 0.151 mmol for the N2-fixation activity. When the concentration of Cu2+ was over 0.50 mmol, N2-fixation activity had been inhabited thoroughly. Although the formation of nodules of Acacia auriculaeformis could continued, the growth of host plant had been inhibited with the appearance such as stunting, chlorosis. Between the noinodulating but adding nitrogen treat group and the inodulating without any nitrogen resource treat group, when Cu2+ < 0.125 mmol, the latter group showed better growth for A. auriculaeformis. There were higher contents of Cu in the underground tissues than in aboveground tissues.
In this paper, cross-weighted centroid (CWC) is constructed to extract affine invariant features. Every point in an image is assigned with a cross-weight based on the distribution of the image. CWC, ...derived from these weighted points, is affine invariance. Based on the original centroid and CWC of the image, a series of centroids of some affine regions can be obtained by iterating affine region cutting, i.e., ARC. Several affine invariant triangles are constructed. Consequently, affine invariant features can be derived by the area of these triangles. Experiment results show the efficiency of the proposed method.

There usually exit some reactive and redundant attributes in clustering objects. In order to improve the efficiency and veracity of clustering, we must delete those reactive and redundant attributes ...before clustering. A compound clustering algorithm is proposed in this paper. The algorithm first introduces fuzzy clustering to classify attributes, and then uses Fuzzy C-means (FCM) algorithm to partition objects and verify which attributes are redundant. The effectiveness of the proposed compound clustering algorithm is demonstrated with the Fisher Iris data set.
A field survey of soil and higher plants growing on an ancient copper spoil heap (3 000 years old) on Tonglushan in Hubei Province, China was conducted. Chemical analysis indicated the soils ...contained exceptionally high concentrations of Cu (total: w sub(t) = 7789 mg kg super(-1); extractable: w sub(ex) = 538 mg kg super(-1)) and Fe, and relatively low concentrations of Pb, Zn, Ni, Cd and Cr. The phytotoxicity of Cu might be the limiting factor for plants natural colonization on the Cu spoil. 28 species belonging to 25 genera and 15 families were found growing on the spoil heap, including 7 dominant species: Elsholtzia haichowensis, Silene fortunei, Commelina communis, Polygonum capitatum, Imperata cylindraca var. major, Artemisia annua and Setaria viridis.
