Materials with low crystal symmetry often exhibit anisotropic properties, allowing the tuning of their physical and chemical properties via crystallographic orientation and exposed facet control. ...Herein, for the first time, we have demonstrated that pristine BiVO4 with a preferred 001 growth orientation and exposed (001) facets exhibits excellent intrinsic charge transport properties and surface reactivity. Using preferentially 001-oriented BiVO4 (p-BVO) as a photoanode for photoelectrochemical water splitting, an impressive photocurrent density at 1.23 V vs. the reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE) is achieved, which is approximately 16 times higher than that exhibited by a photoanode based on randomly oriented BiVO4. Importantly, when the surface of p-BVO is further roughened and decorated with an oxygen evolution electrocatalyst, photocurrent densities of ∼3.5 and ∼6.1 mA cm−2 are achieved at 0.6 and 1.23 VRHE, respectively; the latter value corresponds to ∼82% of the theoretically achievable photocurrent density for BiVO4 under 1 sun illumination. Our results demonstrate the effectiveness of crystal orientation and exposed facet control in optimizing materials for solar water-splitting applications.
The addition of Ag nanoparticles (Ag NPs) with an average size of 30 nm into ZnO increases the electric conductivity up to 1000 times. While a similar increase in the conductivity is observed in a ...mixture of Ag nanoparticles and Al-doped ZnO (AZO) films, a physical mechanism underlying the change in electric conductivity is not the same for Ag NP-added ZnO and Ag NP-added AZO. In Ag NP-added ZnO, an ohmic junction is formed at the ZnO–Ag interface, and electrons are accumulated in ZnO near the ZnO–Ag interface until electron-rich islands are connected. However, in Ag NP-added AZO, electrons in Ag NPs move to the AZO matrix via thermionic emission and travel through the AZO matrix. This change in electron transport at ZnO–Ag and AZO–Ag interfaces is due to the fact that the work function of ZnO (4.62 eV) is larger than those of Ag (4.24 eV) and AZO (4.15 eV). An increase in Ag NP content in the ZnO matrix leads to the overlap of the electron accumulation regions and forms a percolation path for the electron transport without deteriorating the electron mobility. Hence, the electron concentration increases to 2.4 × 1020/cm3 in the 1.4 vol % Ag NP-added ZnO film. In addition, Ag NPs have a negligible effect on the transmittance, and the best Haacke figure of merit (ΦH) values are 2.86 and 5.18 for ZnO:Ag NP and AZO:Ag NP, respectively.

Our customers always conceived ideas innovative design, but also for their targeting enterprise development, in addition to customer design an MCU software programs, sell microcontroller MCU chip, but also familiar with the use of micro-controller design for their own self-efforts of the companys innovative products, it is desirable to change OEM driving force behind, as they can come to the stage, struggling for the survival of their companies the war, therefore business case for an enterprise how to set policy to strengthen competitiveness and to find out the critical success factors that can be replicated, as other similar enterprises engaged in integrated transformation reference, to reduce the possibility of failure when companies change.
Heteroepitaxial, single-crystal-like Cu2O films on inexpensive, flexible, metallic substrates can potentially be used as absorber layers for fabrication of low-cost, high-performance, non-toxic, ...earth-abundant solar cells. Here, we report epitaxial growth of Cu2O films on low cost, flexible, textured metallic substrates. Cu2O films were deposited on the metallic templates via pulsed laser deposition under various processing conditions to study the influence of processing parameters on the structural and electronic properties of the films. It is found that pure, epitaxial Cu2O phase without any trace of CuO phase is only formed in a limited deposition window of P(O2) - temperature. The (00l) single-oriented, highly textured, Cu2O films deposited under optimum P(O2) - temperature conditions exhibit excellent electronic properties with carrier mobility in the range of 40-60 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1) and carrier concentration over 10(16) cm(-3). The power conversion efficiency of 1.65% is demonstrated from a proof-of-concept Cu2O solar cell based on epitaxial Cu2O film prepared on the textured metal substrate.
We previously reported that Enterovirus 71 (EV71) infection activates autophagy, which promotes viral replication both in vitro and in vivo. In the present study we further investigated whether EV71 ...infection of neuronal SK-N-SH cells induces an autophagic flux. Furthermore, the effects of autophagy on EV71-related pathogenesis and viral load were evaluated after intracranial inoculation of mouse-adapted EV71 (MP4 strain) into 6-day-old ICR suckling mice.
We demonstrated that in EV71-infected SK-N-SH cells, EV71 structural protein VP1 and nonstructural protein 2C co-localized with LC3 and mannose-6-phosphate receptor (MPR, endosome marker) proteins by immunofluorescence staining, indicating amphisome formation. Together with amphisome formation, EV71 induced an autophagic flux, which could be blocked by NH₄Cl (inhibitor of acidification) and vinblastine (inhibitor of fusion), as demonstrated by Western blotting. Suckling mice intracranially inoculated with EV71 showed EV71 VP1 protein expression (representing EV71 infection) in the cerebellum, medulla, and pons by immunohistochemical staining. Accompanied with these infected brain tissues, increased expression of LC3-II protein as well as formation of LC3 aggregates, autophagosomes and amphisomes were detected. Amphisome formation, which was confirmed by colocalization of EV71-VP1 protein or LC3 puncta and the endosome marker protein MPR. Thus, EV71-infected suckling mice (similar to EV71-infected SK-N-SH cells) also show an autophagic flux. The physiopathological parameters of EV71-MP4 infected mice, including body weight loss, disease symptoms, and mortality were increased compared to those of the uninfected mice. We further blocked EV71-induced autophagy with the inhibitor 3-methyladenine (3-MA), which attenuated the disease symptoms and decreased the viral load in the brain tissues of the infected mice.
In this study, we reveal that EV71 infection of suckling mice induces an amphisome formation accompanied with the autophagic flux in the brain tissues. Autophagy induced by EV71 promotes viral replication and EV71-related pathogenesis.

We report an experimental study on the fabrication and characterization of hierarchical graphene/metal grid structures for transparent conductors. The hierarchical structure allows for uniform and ...local current conductivity due to the graphene and exhibits low sheet resistance because the microscale silver grid serves as a conductive backbone. Our samples demonstrate 94% diffusive transmission with a sheet resistance of 0.6 Ω/sq and a direct current to optical conductivity ratio σdc/σop of 8900. The sheet resistance of the hierarchical structure may be improved by over 3 orders of magnitude and with little decrease in transmission compared with graphene. Furthermore, the graphene protects the silver grid from thermal oxidation and better maintains the sheet resistance of the structure at elevated temperature. The graphene also strengthens the adhesion of the metal grid with the substrate such that the structure is more resilient under repeated bending.

Considering the importance of pro-environmental issues, this study aims to determine the impact of level of employee education and pro-environmental intention on pro-environmental behavior based on ...stimulus–organism–response theory. There was a total of 425 respondents participating in the survey. This study was conducted during the period of March–June 2022. The data were analyzed using partial least square–structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that the level of employee education has a positive impact on pro-environmental intention. In addition, pro-environmental intention has a significant impact on pro-environment behavior. Overall, this study sheds light on stimulus–organism–response theory in the context of Indonesia.
Objective: Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) offers temporary haemodynamic support for those with refractory cardiogenic shock after cardiac surgery. We review our 5-year experience ...regarding ECMO use on those who cannot be weaned from cardiopulmonary bypass after cardiac surgery. We analyse our cases, predict the prognostic factors of survival and compare the short-term and medium-term results. Methods: From January 2002 to December 2006, 1764 patients underwent cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass in our division. Among these, 51 patients (2.9%) required venoarterial-mode ECMO for haemodynamic support because of refractory postcardiotomy cardiogenic shock. The indication of ECMO was refractory cardiogenic shock despite adequate filling volumes, large-dose inotropes and intra-aortic balloon pump support. The following cardiac surgical procedures were performed: coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), n = 27; valvular surgery, n = 11; CABG plus valvular surgery, n = 7; heart transplantation, n = 4 and other procedures, n = 2. Results: Average age was 63.0 ± 15.7 years. There were 36 male and 15 female patients. Average duration of ECMO was 7.5 ± 6.7 days. Twenty-seven (53%) patients could be successfully weaned from ECMO. The 30-day and 3-month mortalities were 49% (25/51) and 65% (33/51). The in-hospital mortality was 67% (34/51 patients). Seventeen (33%) patients could be successfully discharged. Fifteen (29%) patients were still alive at 1-year outpatient department (OPD) follow-up. Conclusions: ECMO provides a good temporary cardiopulmonary support in patients with postcardiotomy shock. The preoperative risk factors of failure to withdraw ECMO are poor left-ventricular ejection fraction, systolic blood pressure ≪90 mmHg and refractory severe metabolic acidosis. The peri-ECMO predictors of mortality include low serum albumin level, low platelet count, low oxygen pressure of the venous tube of the ECMO and poor cardiac systolic function.
