Wild flowers and plants play an important role in protecting biodiversity and providing various ecosystem services. However, some of them are endangered or threatened and are entitled to preservation ...and protection. This study represents a first step to develop a computer vision system and a supporting mobile app for detecting and monitoring the development stages of wild flowers and plants, aiming to contribute to their preservation. It first introduces the related concepts. Then, surveys related work and categorizes existing solutions presenting their key features, strengths, and limitations. The most promising solutions and techniques are identified. Insights on open issues and research directions in the topic are also provided. This paper paves the way to a wider adoption of recent results in computer vision techniques in this field and for the proposal of a mobile application that uses YOLO convolutional neural networks to detect the stages of development of wild flowers and plants.
Objetivo: Com este estudo, objetivou-se identificar as contribuições de melhoria na relação de trabalho interprofissional apontadas por profissionais envolvidos nos programas de procura e de ...transplantação de órgãos e tecidos. Método: estudo exploratório com abordagem quanti-qualitativo realizado no período de 21 meses, com a participação de profissionais da área da saúde convidados a preencher um questionário online da plataforma de formulários do Google. Após a coleta, organizaram-se os dados quantitativos, analisando-os de maneira descritiva e, em categorias, os dados qualitativos,submetendo-os à análise de conteúdo. Resultados: participaram do estudo 130 profissionais de saúde, sendo 84% do gênero feminino, dos quais 64% se declararam de cor de pele branca; de faixa etária entre 41–59 anos, sendo que (31%) trabalhavam há mais de quinze anos nos programas. As categorias identificadas foram: condições de trabalho; valorização dos profissionais não médicos; suporte psicológico e financiamento para capacitação dos profissionais apontadas como melhorias na relação de trabalho nos programas. Conclusão: o estudo possibilitou identificar que na relação de trabalho as condições laborais e maior valorização da equipe interprofissional aliadas ao oferecimento de suporte psicológico aos profissionais são estratégias necessárias, podendo trazer impactos na satisfação dos profissionais, na saúde mental, além de melhorias nos processos de trabalho, impactando as taxas de transplantes.
This article develops a reflexive and interpretive analysis of the life of children in superdiversity contexts, systematizing some of its impacts on the construction of a children’s citizenship, with ...particular reference to the Portuguese case. The article promotes the conceptual construction of the child in the 21st century through the correlation of qualitative analysis variables based on a multidisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary theoretical framework. The article introduces the child protection system in Portugal within a framework of European and international influences. It identifies the indicators present in public policies and in the social welfare system that affect child protection in a cross-analysis with the professional practices that intervene with children and families. The author addresses the questions of the ecosocial dimension in the territorialized intervention of family policies in contemporary and multiple approaches to superdiversity. For policy-makers and practitioners in local government, NGOs and social services, appreciating the dimensions and dynamics of superdiversity has profound implications for how they might understand and deal with modes of difference and their interactions within the population. The article concludes with a systematization on the current problems regarding the child as a citizen in contemporary society.

Entre os diversos problemas que desafiam as políticas de proteção social, um dos mais significativos é a pobreza. O estudo que se apresenta tem como objeto a pobreza em Portugal e no Brasil. ...Pretende-se, nesse sentido, reabrir o debate em torno de algumas questões sobre Estratégias de o combate a pobreza. Utiliza como referência dados oficiais, estatísticos e referenciais científicos dominantes sobre a matéria. O estudo faz uma análise comparada, amparado num método indutivo. Os resultados sugerem que, embora se trate de dois Estados com contextos sociais, económicos e políticos diferentes e integrados em continentes com características diferenciadas, nos dois países as mulheres estão numa situação de maior vulnerabilidade, contudo, o Estado brasileiro tem procurado priorizar a mulher em sua política.

Multiple randomly amplified markers (RAPD, ISSR and AFLP) were brought together with SSR and EST-SSR markers identified among sequences uploaded to public databases and with sequence-specific markers (SCAR, SSR and CAPS) derived from random amplified markers. Sixty-three randomly amplified markers (RAPD, ISSR and AFLP) were selected and cloned, resulting in 71 sequences which were used to generate sequence-specific SCAR and CAPS markers. The present map includes 492 DNA markers: 57 RAPD, 22 ISSR, 348 AFLP, 20 SSR, 12 EST-SSR, 25 SCARs, 8 CAPS, and the morphological trait locus “piping”, gathered into 33 linkage groups that integrate markers inherited from both botanical varieties, four linkage groups with markers only from var.

. The relatively higher mapping efficiency of sequence-specific markers derived from randomly amplified markers (50.7%) versus SSR (31.4%) and EST-SSR (28.9%) markers is discussed. Spanning over 80% of the 2,470 cM estimated average length of the genome, the present map constitutes a useful research tool for molecular breeding and genomics projects in pineapple and other Bromeliaceae species.
A assistência estudantil brasileira e a ação social portuguesa no ensino superior público (ASES) constituem um campo de atuação, investigação e de investimento social na garantia dos direitos humanos ...e sociais à formação universitária. Investigamos a dimensão social na sua acepção educativa facilitadora de formação superior e como elemento de integração social de grupos sociais vulneráveis no acesso ao ensino universitário. Definimos como objetivo geral sistematizar a configuração da ASES e utilizamos uma abordagem de natureza qualitativa baseada no método comparativo. Os resultados sugerem que a adoção de diretrizes internacionais afetou o desenvolvimento da ASES luso-brasileira, designadamente por fatores que impediram o fluxo contínuo de investimento, de estruturação e de planejamento, incapaz de responder de forma contemporânea e imediata às necessidades estudantis.

European countries are attempting to promote sustainable development by transitioning from a linear to a circular economy, where waste is to be prevented and recycling activities are promoted. This ...paper studies the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) policies for the packaging waste in two later European adopter countries of waste management policies: Portugal and Spain. The main goal is to evaluate whether EPR policies in both countries have achieved their basic two goals: 1) reduction of waste, and 2) increase recycling activities. Two case-studies were built based on interviews made to main waste management stakeholders. The analysis shows that the implementation of the EPR policies have had a positive impact throughout the years in both countries. Regarding the waste reduction goal, the systems have still not been completely able to detach packaging waste production from economic growth, but they have been able to promote material usage reduction directly through the Green dot fee model adopted. Regarding the increasing of recycling activities, both countries have been able to increase such rates throughout the years, in the direction of the EU targets.
•EPR policies implemented in Spain and Portugal are evaluated.•EPR policies have contributed to packaging waste reduction and increase recycling activities.•EPR policies are having a positive impact throughout the years in both countries.•Some challenges still need to be faced: eco-design promotion and packaging life-cycle.
