Peanuts are one of the most important edible oil crops in the world. In order to survey key genes controlling peanut oil accumulation, we analyzed the seed transcriptome in different developmental ...stages of high- and low-oil peanut varieties. About 54 million high quality clean reads were generated, which corresponded to 4.85 Gb total nucleotides. These reads were assembled into 59,236 unique sequences. Differential mRNA processing events were detected for most of the peanut Unigenes and found that 15.8% and 18.0% of the Unigenes were differentially expressed between high- and low-oil varieties at 30 DAF and 50 DAF, respectively. Over 1,500 Unigenes involved in lipid metabolism were identified, classified, and found to participate in FA synthesis and TAG assembly. There were seven possible metabolic pathways involved in the accumulation of oil during seed development. This dataset provides more sequence resource for peanut plant and will serve as the foundation to understand the mechanisms of oil accumulation in oil crops.

In this study, the mathematical models were ...established to predict the rejection of synephrine from Citrus aurantium L. (Rutaceae). The experiment showed that there was a linear relationship between operation pressure and membrane flux. Meanwhile, under the influence of solution–diffusion effect and the charge effect, the mass transfer coefficient was power functioned with initial concentration. The mathematical model showed that the predicted rejections of synephrine from Citrus aurantium extract were well approximate to real ones, and the lipid‐lowering active ingredient had effectively enriched. The predicted model of nanofiltration separation has a preferable applicability to synephrine and provides references for nanofiltration separation, especially for raw food materials with synephrine.

Lithium is becoming one of the most eye-catching metal elements in modern industry, mainly because of its crucial role in manufacturing lithium-ion batteries. The demand for lithium in the new energy market is burgeoning significantly, while enormous lithium resources reserved in salt lakes in northwest China are not exploited effectively, due to the high Mg/Li mass ratio. Although the TBP extraction system has been applied in lithium extraction from salt lake brines, there are still some problems to be solved, such as its high solubility, easy degradation, and so on. In this work, a novel low dissolution loss extraction system was developed, with DEHEHP and FeCl3 serving as extractant and co-extractant, respectively. A real brine from Da Qaidam Lake was used to prove its practicality and effectiveness. After studying the detailed conditions of each process, a whole countercurrent process was performed, including eight stages of extraction, two stages of scrubbing, three stages of stripping, and regeneration. It was found that 99.4% of Li+ was successfully recovered from the brine, and the stripping liquor contained 22.74 g/L Li+, 0.51 g/L Mg2+, and 3.16 g/L B. The concentration of Li+ increased approximately 20-fold while the Mg/Li mass ratio decreased by a factor of 3900, from real brine to stripping liquor. High-purity (>98.5%) lithium carbonate products were prepared from the stripping liquor by precipitation. The dissolution loss of the organic phase in the raffinate was only 22.5 ppm, much lower than published works. Finally, the mechanism of extraction and co-extraction were systematically studied and the structure of the complex formed during extraction was revealed as LiFeCl4·2DEHEHP.

Molecular structures are commonly depicted in 2D printed forms in scientific documents such as journal papers and patents. However, these 2D depictions are not machine readable. Due to a backlog of ...decades and an increasing amount of printed literatures, there is a high demand for translating printed depictions into machine-readable formats, which is known as Optical Chemical Structure Recognition (OCSR). Most OCSR systems developed over the last three decades use a rule-based approach, which vectorizes the depiction based on the interpretation of vectors and nodes as bonds and atoms. Here, we present a practical software called MolMiner, which is primarily built using deep neural networks originally developed for semantic segmentation and object detection to recognize atom and bond elements from documents. These recognized elements can be easily connected as a molecular graph with a distance-based construction algorithm. MolMiner gave state-of-the-art performance on four benchmark data sets and a self-collected external data set from scientific papers. As MolMiner performed similarly well in real-world OCSR tasks with a user-friendly interface, it is a useful and valuable tool for daily applications. Peanut seeds have a high oil content making them an important oil crop. During development and germination, seeds undergo complex dynamic and physiological changes. Changes in lipid metabolism and ...underlying mechanisms during seed development have been studied extensively by DNA and RNA sequencing; however, there are few studies on dynamic changes of proteomics during peanut seed development and germination. In this study, proteomic analyses were carried out 20, 40, 60, and 80 days after pollination and 5, 10, 20, and 30 days after germination using isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation (iTRAQ) technology to determine the protein profiles of lipid dynamics during peanut seed development and postgermination. A total of 5712 of 8505 proteins were identified, quantified, and divided into 23 functional groups, the largest of which was metabolism-related. Further analyses of the proteins and their pathways revealed initiation of fatty acid accumulation at early stages after flowering, while lipid degradation occurred largely through the lipoxygenase-dependent pathway. Protein expression patterns related to lipid accumulation and degradation were also verified at transcript levels using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. The proteome profiles determined here will significantly enrich our understanding of the process of lipid accumulation and degradation and the dynamic changes in metabolic networks during peanut development.
Reintroductions and translocations have proven to be effective measures for rescuing small, isolated populations of endangered wildlife. However, the reproductive status of released wildlife is hard ...to obtain. To date, a giant panda named Luxin is the only translocated giant panda that has successfully bred in the wild. Using data collected from the GPS collar attached to her, we analysed her activity and home range during a breeding year and compared these values with those collected during a non-breeding (control) year. Delivery and mating days can be identified by extremely low levels of activity or even by the absence of activity. The activity of a giant panda with an infant was low, but it increased gradually after delivery. The activity rates during both the delayed implantation period and the infant-caring period were significantly lower in the breeding year than those in the control year. In the breeding year, the home ranges during the delayed implantation period and pregnancy were larger than those in the control year, while the home range during the infant-caring period was much smaller than that in the control year. Our results suggest that GPS collars embedded with activity sensors can be used to monitor the breeding status of released female giant pandas. They can provide valuable information for decision making in future release projects, providing only small disturbances to released giant pandas.

To establish the HPLC fingerprints of Hedyotis diffusa willd. , ...chromatographic experiments were performed on thermo betabasic C18 column, eluted with acetonitrile and water, containing 0.5% acetic acid as the mobile phases in gradient elution at the flow rate of 1.0 mL・min. 1. The detection wavelength was 360 nm. 13 common peaks were found in the fingerprints of 12 batches Hedyotis diffusa willd. ,and, except planting herbs, good similarities with correlation coefficients higher than 0.9 were found in fingerprints between the herbs from different sources. The methodological evaluation showed that the results were in accordance with the technological requirements of chromatography fingerprint, which has laid a good foundation for quality control of codex fraxini.

采用AFLP分子标记技术,利用筛选出6对多态性较强的引物组合,构建了白花蛇舌草25份种质的AFLP指纹图谱.6对引物组合共扩增出888条谱带,其中多态带661条,占73%.聚类分析结果表明,来源地相同的白花蛇舌草居群多表现出较为密切的亲缘关系,不同来源地的白花蛇舌草居群间遗传差异相对较大,其中海南白花蛇舌草独自呈类,与其它省份的亲缘关系较远.著者文摘
AFLP fingerprints of ...Hedyotis diffusa were established by AFLP technique and six primer pairs.There were 888 bands,of which 661 were polymorphic,accounting for 73%.The cluster analysis indicates: most of the population in the same area have the closer relationship,the heredity difference of the population from different areas is relatively big.And the population from Hainan being a kind alone is far with other population in relationship.著者文摘
