Objective To summarize the features of clinical phenotype and genetic mutation of hereditary neuropathy with liability to pressure palsies (HNPP) presenting brachial plexus injury as the first ...manifestation. Methods and Results A 46-year-old male patient showed acute onset. He mainly suffered from left shoulder discomfort with left upper limb weakness for 2 months. The results of laboratory and imaging examination were normal, and neuroelectrophysiology showed peripheral nerve injury of limbs, mainly the upper trunk injury of left brachial plexus. Gene detection showed loss of heterozygosity of PM P22 gene, therefore the patient was clearly diagnosed as HNPP. He was treated by improving circulation and nutrition support, and the left upper extremity muscle strength was recovered to normal after 2 months of follow?up. Conclusions HNPP with brachial plexus injury as the first manifestation is rare, and should be differentiated from hereditary neuralgic amyotrophy (HNA) and inflammatory demyelinating polyradicul
As an alternative or complementary approach to the classical probability theory, the ability of the evidence theory in uncertainty quantification(UQ) analyses is subject of intense research in recent ...years.Two state-of-the-art numerical methods, the vertex method and the sampling method, are commonly used to calculate the resulting uncertainty based on the evidence theory. The vertex method is very effective for the monotonous system, but not for the non-monotonous one due to its high computational errors. The sampling method is applicable for both systems. But it always requires a high computational cost in UQ analyses, which makes it inefficient in most complex engineering systems. In this work,a computational intelligence approach is developed to reduce the computational cost and improve the practical utility of the evidence theory in UQ analyses. The method is demonstrated on two challenging problems proposed by Sandia National Laboratory.Simulation results show that the computational efficiency of the proposed method outperforms both the vertex method and the sampling method without decreasing the degree of accuracy.Especially, when the numbers of uncertain parameters and focal elements are large, and the system model is non-monotonic,the computational cost is five times less than that of the sampling method.
This study evaluated the effects of postharvest ripening (0–6 days, D0–6) on cell wall pectin profile, infrared-assisted hot air-drying characteristics, and sugar content. Results showed that during ...postharvest ripening progress, the content of water-soluble pectin (WSP) and chelate-soluble pectin (CSP) increased while the content of Na2CO3-soluble pectin (NSP) and hemicellulose (HC) decreased. In addition, the average molecular weight of WSP increased while the average molecular weight of NSP decreased. Secondly, the drying time of plums with different postharvest ripening periods was in the order: D3 < D4 < D2 < D1 < D0 < D5 < D6. Furthermore, the sugar content of dried plums was mainly influenced by drying time, with three stages of sugar changes observed, tied to moisture content: (1) Sucrose hydrolyzes (50–85%); (2) Fructose and glucose degrade (15–50%); (3) Sorbitol degrades (15–42%). These findings indicate that the transformation of cell wall pectin profile during the postharvest ripening process alters drying behavior and regulates the sugar content of dried plums.

In order to solve the problem of limited sample size and life data in the storage reliability evaluation of high-value weapons, the storage reliability evaluation method of electronic product based ...on storage performance modeling and simulation was studied. The problem of epistemic-aleatory mixed uncertainty propagation in product storage performance model with time degradation factor was discussed emphatically. The calculation method of two-level Monte Carlo simulation and non-intrusive polynomial chaos is proposed, which solved the problem that the computational capacity of storage performance simulation would increase explosivelly when the number of uncertainty parameters is large. Finally, the effectiveness of the method is verified by an example of circuit storage reliability evaluation, and the calculation efficiency is about 100 times higher than that of the two-lever MCS method.
To encapsulate the free anthraquiones in Rhizoma et Radix Rhei (rhein, chrysophanol, physcione, emodin and aloeemodin) in liposomes and characterize the liposomes.
The liposomes were separated from ...free drug with sephadex G-50 with HPLC determination of the free anthraquinones in liposomes, then its entrapment efficiency was calculated. Ethanol injection method was used to prepare the liposomes with the addition of a suitable amount Ca2+ in the medium. The influence of Ca2+ on the entrapment efficiency of free anthraquinones in Rhizoma et Radix Rhei in liposomes has been studied. Dynamic laser scatterometer and transmission electron microscopy were used to study the sizes and morphology of the liposomes.
The entrapment efficiency of rhein, chrysophanol, physcione, emodin and aloeemodin in liposomes were 27.63%, 85.16%,100.14%, 99.77% and 66.16%, respectively. The total entrapment efficiency of free anthraquinones in Rhizoma et Radix Rhei was 80.67%. Ca2+ could greatly promote the liposomal encapsulation of fr
For the reliability evaluation of a complex system, the aleatory uncertainty and epistemic uncertainty always exist at the same time because of the inadequate experimental data and the incomplete ...information. To reduce the computational cost of the reliability evaluation, an effective method based on evidence theory was developed. In this method, the mean of the belief measure and the plausibility measure was taken as the approximation of the system reliability. The discretization methods for uncertain parameters were discussed in the cases of only aleatory uncertainty was involved in the system, and mixed aleatory and epistemic uncertainties were involved, respectively. Algorithms of the evaluations of belief and plausibility functions were proposed for monotonic and non-monotonic systems. Four numerical examples under different conditions were studied. Simulation results showed that, the proposed method was much more effective than Monte Carlo method without sacrificing the accuracy of the resulting reliability. It was a general method suitable for various systems with different types of information.

Locoregional spread of abdominopelvic malignant tumors frequently results in peritoneal carcinomatosis(PC). The prognosis of PC patients treated by conventional systemic chemotherapy is poor, with a ...median survival of < 6 mo. However, over the past three decades, an integrated treatment strategy of cytoreductive surgery(CRS) + hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC) has been developed by the pioneering oncologists, with proved efficacy and safety in selected patients. Supported by several lines of clinical evidence from phases Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ clinical trials, CRS + HIPEC has been regarded as the standard treatment for selected patients with PC in many established cancer centers worldwide. In China, an expert consensus on CRS + HIPEC has been reached by the leading surgical and medical oncologists, under the framework of the China Anti-Cancer Association. This expert consensus has summarized the progress in PC clinical studies and systematically evaluated the CRS + HIPEC procedures in China as well as across the world, so as to lay the foundation for formulating PC treatment guidelines specific to the national conditions of China.
Electrical connector is one of the key components in the electronic control system of new energy vehicles, and its reliability is very important to the normal operation of the whole electronic ...control system. In order to quickly evaluate the reliability of the electrical connector, this paper takes the contact resistance as the key performance parameter, selects the temperature and humidity as the comprehensive acceleration stress, designs the HAST test, and quickly obtains the degradation data of the electrical connector at three stress levels. Based on the Wiener process degradation model and the Peck acceleration model, the reliability modeling is carried out, and the optimization algorithm is used to solve the model parameters and obtain the reliability function of the electrical connector. The HAST test of XCE33T41K 1 P 1 electrical connector was carried out, and the reliability evaluation of the electrical connector was carried out based on the data obtained from the actual test. The results show that the proposed method is effective, especially compared with the traditional hygrothermal accelerated life test, which can effectively shorten the test time.
