Hard carbon attracts considerable attention as an anode material for sodium‐ion batteries; however, their poor rate capability and low realistic capacity have motivated intense research effort toward ...exploiting nanostructured carbons in order to boost their comprehensive performance. Ultramicropores are considered essential for attaining high‐rate capacity as well as initial Coulombic efficiency by allowing the rapid diffusion of Na+ and inhibiting the contact of the electrolyte with the inner carbon surfaces. Herein, hard carbon nanosheets with centralized ultramicropores (≈0.5 nm) and easily accessible carbonyl groups (CO)/hydroxy groups (OH) are synthesized via interfacial assembly and carbonization strategies, delivering a large capacity (318 mA h g−1 at 0.02 A g−1), superior rate capability (145 mA h g−1 at 5.00 A g−1), and approximately 95% of reversible capacity below 1.00 V. Notably, a new charge model favoring fast capacitive sodium storage with dual potential plateaus is proposed. That is, the deintercalation of Na+ from graphitic layers is manifested as the low‐potential plateau region (0.01−0.10 V), contributing to stable insertion capacity; meanwhile, the surface desodiation process of the CO and OH groups corresponds to the high‐potential plateau region (0.40−0.70 V), contributing to a fast capacitive storage.
Hard carbon nanosheets with centralized ultramicropores (≈0.5 nm), accessible functional CO/OH groups, and large graphitic layer spacings exhibit excellent sodium‐storage properties. The desodiation process from graphitic layers and CO/OH groups results in a new sodium‐storage characteristic with dual‐potential plateaus during the charge process, which favors a high output of 95%, realistic capacity, and rapidly capacitive sodium storage.
Novel diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers of cancers are needed to improve precision medicine. Circular RNAs act as important regulators in cancers at the transcriptional and posttranscriptional ...levels. The circular RNA circMAN1A2 is highly expressed in nasopharyngeal carcinoma according to our previous RNA sequencing data; however, the expression and functions of circMAN1A2 in cancers are still obscure. Therefore, in this study, we evaluated the expression of circMAN1A2 in the sera of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma and other malignant tumors and analyzed its correlations with clinical features and diagnostic values. The expression levels of circMAN1A2 were detected by quantitative real‐time PCR, and the correlations of clinical features with circMAN1A2 expression were analyzed by χ2 tests. Receiver operating characteristic curves were used to evaluate the clinical applications of circMAN1A2. The results showed that circMAN1A2 was upregulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma, oral cancer, thyroid cancer, ovarian cancer, and lung cancer, with areas under the curves of 0.911, 0.779, 0.734, 0.694, and 0.645, respectively, indicating the good diagnostic value of circMAN1A2. Overall, our findings suggested that circMAN1A2 could be a serum biomarker for malignant tumors, providing important insights into diagnostic approaches for malignant tumors. Further studies are needed to elucidate the mechanisms of circMAN1A2 in the pathogenesis of cancer.
We verified that circMAN1A2 was significantly upregulated in the sera of patients with NPC, oral cancer, thyroid cancer, ovarian cancer, and lung cancer and had good clinical diagnostic value. We speculate that circMAN1A2 could be a serum biomarker for malignant cancers and provide effective clues for the early diagnosis of malignant cancers.
Na+‐taurocholate cotransporting polypeptide deficiency (NTCPD) is a newly described disorder arising from biallelic mutations of the SLC10A1 gene. As a result of a lack of compelling evidence from ...case‐control studies, its genotypic and phenotypic features remain open for in‐depth investigation. This study aimed to explore the genotypic and clinical phenotypic characteristics of paediatric patients with NTCPD. The SLC10A1 genotypes of all NTCPD patients were confirmed by screening for the prevalent variant c.800C>T and Sanger sequencing when necessary. The clinical presentations and laboratory changes were collected, reviewed and analysed, and then qualitatively and quantitatively compared with the relevant controls. A total of 113 paediatric NTCPD patients were diagnosed while c.374dupG and c.682_683delCT were detected as two novel pathogenic mutations. Hypercholanemia was observed in 99.12% of the patients. Indirect hyperbilirubinemia in affected neonates exhibited higher positive rates in comparison to controls. Moreover, transient cholestatic jaundice, elevated liver enzymes and 25‐hydroxyvitamin D (Vit D) deficiency during early infancy were more commonly observed in patients than in controls. All NTCPD patients exhibited favourable clinical outcomes as a result of symptomatic and supportive treatment. The findings enriched the SLC10A1 mutation spectrum and provided comprehensive insights into the phenotypic characteristics of NTCPD. NTCPD should be considered and SLC10A1 gene should be analysed in patients with above age‐dependent clinical features. Furthermore, over investigation and intervention should be avoided in the management of NTCPD patients.
C-lignin is a homo-biopolymer, being made up of caffeyl alcohol exclusively. There is significant interest in developing efficient and selective catalyst for depolymerization of C-lignin, as it ...represents an ideal feedstock for producing catechol derivatives. Here we report an atomically dispersed Ru catalyst, which can serve as an efficient catalyst for the hydrogenolysis of C-lignin via the cleavage of C-O bonds in benzodioxane linkages, giving catechols in high yields with TONs up to 345. A unique selectivity to propenylcatechol (77%) is obtained, which is otherwise hard to achieve, because this catalyst is capable of hydrogenolysis rather than hydrogenation. This catalyst also demonstrates good reusability in C-lignin depolymerization. Detailed investigations by model compounds concluded that the pathways involving dehydration and/or dehydrogenation reactions are incompatible routes; we deduced that caffeyl alcohol generated via concurrent C-O bonds cleavage of benzodioxane unit may act as an intermediate in the C-lignin hydrogenolysis. Current demonstration validates that atomically dispersed metals can not only catalyze small molecules reactions, but also drive the transformation of abundant and renewable biopolymer.
The nonradiative recombination of electrons and holes has been identified as the main cause of energy loss in hybrid organic–inorganic perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Sufficient built‐in field and ...defect passivation can facilitate effective separation of electron–hole pairs to address the crucial issues. For the first time, we introduce a homochiral molecular ferroelectric into a PSC to enlarge the built‐in electric field of the perovskite film, thereby facilitating effective charge separation and transportation. As a consequence of similarities in ionic structure, the molecular ferroelectric component of the PSC passivates the defects in the active perovskite layers, thereby inducing an approximately eightfold enhancement in photoluminescence intensity and reducing electron trap‐state density. The photovoltaic molecular ferroelectric PSCs achieve a power conversion efficiency as high as 21.78 %.

The Neoproterozoic Arabian‐Nubian Shield (ANS) is the best preserved and the largest exposed Neoproterozoic juvenile crust on Earth. While the lithology and early Sr and Nd isotopic data demonstrate ...that the ANS crust is overwhelmingly juvenile, pre‐ANS old zircon crystals have been increasingly recognized in the ANS igneous and sedimentary rocks, casting doubt on the “juvenility” of the ANS crust. In order to understand the origin of the old continental materials in the ANS and its roles in generation of juvenile oceanic arcs, we carry out for the first time an integrated in situ analysis of zircon U‐Pb age and Hf‐O isotopes for greywacke and felsic volcanic cobble samples from the Atud Formation in the Eastern Desert of northwestern part of the ANS. Our data indicate that the Atud Formation was deposited between ca. 720 and 700 Ma, concurrent with the production of oceanic arcs in the ANS. The Atud greywacke was derived from the erosion of a proximal arc terrane that contains numerous old continental crust materials. We identify for the first time a 755‐Ma felsic volcanic cobble from the Atud Formation that is derived from old continental materials during juvenile crust production, suggesting presence of an old continental crust substrate that underlies the ANS. Our work demonstrates that reworking of old continental crust played important roles in generation of oceanic arcs in the northwestern ANS that is likely much less juvenile than previously thought. Thus, the crustal growth rates calculated based on estimates of temporal island arc development need to be revised.

The oceanic arc is generated by partial melting of a mantle wedge where one oceanic plate subducts beneath another. Given the presumed lack of continental crust within oceanic arcs, accretion of oceanic arcs is considered as manifesting rapid growth of continental crust. However, this classic viewpoint is questioned by identification of increasing numbers of old zircon in the modern oceanic arcs in the Pacific Ocean and ancient oceanic arcs in the Arabian‐Nubian Shield (ANS). Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are essential factors that regulate tumor development and metastasis via diverse molecular mechanisms in a broad type of cancers. However, the pathological roles of ...lncRNAs in gallbladder carcinoma (GBC) remain largely unknown. Here we discovered a novel lncRNA termed lncRNA Highly expressed in GBC (lncRNA-HGBC) which was upregulated in GBC tissue and aimed to investigate its role and regulatory mechanism in the development and progression of GBC.
The expression level of lncRNA-HGBC in GBC tissue and different cell lines was determined by quantitative real-time PCR. The full length of lncRNA-HGBC was obtained by 5' and 3' rapid amplification of the cDNA ends (RACE). Cellular localization of lncRNA-HGBC was detected by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) assays and subcellular fractionation assay. In vitro and in vivo assays were preformed to explore the biological effects of lncRNA-HGBC in GBC cells. RNA pull-down assay, mass spectrometry, and RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) assay were used to identify lncRNA-HGBC-interacting proteins. Dual luciferase reporter assays, AGO2-RIP, and MS2-RIP assays were performed to verify the interaction between lncRNA-HGBC and miR-502-3p.
We found that lncRNA-HGBC was upregulated in GBC and its upregulation could predict poor survival. Overexpression or knockdown of lncRNA-HGBC in GBC cell lines resulted in increased or decreased, respectively, cell proliferation and invasion in vitro and in xenografted tumors. LncRNA-HGBC specifically bound to RNA binding protein Hu Antigen R (HuR) that in turn stabilized lncRNA-HGBC. LncRNA-HGBC functioned as a competitive endogenous RNA to bind to miR-502-3p that inhibits target gene SET. Overexpression, knockdown or mutation of lncRNA-HGBC altered the inhibitory effects of miR-502-3p on SET expression and downstream activation of AKT. Clinically, lncRNA-HGBC expression was negatively correlated with miR-502-3p, but positively correlated with SET and HuR in GBC tissue.
Our study demonstrates that lncRNA-HGBC promotes GBC metastasis via activation of the miR-502-3p-SET-AKT cascade, pointing to lncRNA-HGBC as a new prognostic predictor and a therapeutic target.

Abstract
A total of about 21,600 Am candidates were detected with the MKCLASS code based on the low-resolution spectra of the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope Data Releases 8 ...(v1.0), 9 (v0), and 10 (v0), which greatly expands the database of Am-type stars. By crossmatching the known catalogs of Am stars and our Am candidates with the AAVSO International Variable Star Index catalog, a catalog of the largest eclipsing Am binaries was obtained, which includes 754 binaries and provides a substantial sample with which to study Am stars. Fundamental information, including atmospheric parameters of the two kinds of candidates, are collected and listed in the catalogs, such as temperature, log
g
, and metallicity. We further carried out statistical analysis of the types of parameters. In our new catalog, there are some Am candidates with a temperature lower than 7000 K and some eclipsing Am binary candidates with a period of less than 1 day, which poses challenges to the slow rotation of stars classified as type Am observed in previous research. These candidates are significant and provide a great opportunity to explore the real relationship between Am-type stars’ peculiarity and slow stellar rotation. The Hertzsprung–Russell diagram of Am stars and the primary stars of eclipsing Am binary candidates indicate that a majority of the Am stars and almost all primary stars of binaries are in or around the main-sequence evolution stage.
Recent studies have shown that on one hand, tumors need to obtain a sufficient energy supply, and on the other hand they must evade the body's immune surveillance. Because of their metabolic ...reprogramming characteristics, tumors can modify the physicochemical properties of the microenvironment, which in turn affects the biological characteristics of the cells infiltrating them. Regulatory T cells (Tregs) are a subset of T cells that regulate immune responses in the body. They exist in large quantities in the tumor microenvironment and exert immunosuppressive effects. The main effect of tumor microenvironment on Tregs is to promote their differentiation, proliferation, secretion of immunosuppressive factors, and chemotactic recruitment to play a role in immunosuppression in tumor tissues. This review focuses on cell metabolism reprogramming and the most significant features of the tumor microenvironment relative to the functional effects on Tregs, highlighting our understanding of the mechanisms of tumor immune evasion and providing new directions for tumor immunotherapy.

Necroptosis is a necrotic programmed cell death with potent immunogenicity. Due to the dual effects of necroptosis on tumor growth, metastasis and immunosuppression, we evaluated the prognostic value ...of necroptosis-related genes (NRGs) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
We first analyzed RNA sequencing and clinical HCC patient data obtained to develop an NRG prognostic signature based on the TCGA dataset. Differentially expressed NRGs were further evaluated by GO and KEGG pathway analyses. Next, we conducted univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses to build a prognostic model. We also used the dataset obtained from the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) database to verify the signature. The Tumor Immune Dysfunction and Exclusion (TIDE) algorithm was used to investigate the immunotherapy response. Furthermore, we investigated the relationship between the prediction signature and chemotherapy treatment response in HCC.
We first identified 36 differentially expressed genes out of 159 NRGs in hepatocellular carcinoma. Enrichment analysis showed that they were mainly enriched in the necroptosis pathway. Four NRGs were screened by Cox regression analysis to establish a prognostic model. The survival analysis revealed that the overall survival of patients with high-risk scores was significantly shorter than that of patients with low-risk scores. The nomogram demonstrated satisfactory discrimination and calibration. The calibration curves validated a fine concordance between the nomogram prediction and actual observation. The efficacy of the necroptosis-related signature was also validated by an independent dataset and immunohistochemistry experiments. TIDE analysis revealed that patients in the high-risk group were possibly more susceptible to immunotherapy. Furthermore, high-risk patients were found to be more sensitive to conventional chemotherapeutic medicines such as bleomycin, bortezomib, and imatinib.
We identified 4 necroptosis-related genes and established a prognostic risk model that could potentially predict prognosis and response to chemotherapy and immunotherapy in HCC patients in the future.
