Cross-presentation (XPT) is an adaptation of the cellular process in which dendritic cells (DCs) present exogenous antigens on major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules for recognition ...of the cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) and natural killer (NK) cells, resulting in immunity or tolerance. Recent advances in DCs have broadened our understanding of the underlying mechanisms of XPT and strengthened their application in tumor immunotherapy. In this review, we summarized the known mechanisms of XPT, including the receptor-mediated internalization of exogenous antigens, endosome escape, engagement of the other XPT-related proteins, and adjuvants, which significantly enhance the XPT capacity of DCs. Consequently, various strategies to enhance XPT can be adopted and optimized to improve outcomes of DC-based therapy.

To find a more effective method for the assessment of sustainable urban transport development, the comprehensive assessment model of sustainable urban transport development was established based on ...the unascertained measure. On the basis of considering the factors influencing urban transport development, the comprehensive assessment indexes were selected, including urban economical development, transport demand, environment quality and energy consumption, and the assessment system of sustainable urban transport development was proposed. In view of different influencing factors of urban transport development, the index weight was calculated through the entropy weight coefficient method. Qualitative and quantitative analyses were conducted according to the actual condition. Then, the grade was obtained by using the credible degree recognition criterion from which the urban transport development level can be determined. Finally, a comprehensive assessment method for urban transport development was introduced. The application practice showed that the method can be used reasonably and effectively for the comprehensive assessment of urban transport development.

Bioconvection in fluids can be significantly influenced by melting thermal transport, especially when it comes to heat transfer and energy transmission. In a fluid, microbes or biological particles ...may move together due to physical or chemical gradients, such as light, temperature, or chemical concentrations. This process is known as bioconvection. In bioprocessing, mobile microorganisms can be employed to create beneficial substances including biofuels, medicines, and food additives. They can move around freely in the fluid thanks to their motility, which improves the mixing and distribution of other substrates like nutrients. The main outcomes of the current study are to provide the comprehensive numerical analysis of existing situation where the melting transportation impact along with the action of microorganisms on MHD non-Newtonian nano fluid model under velocity, thermal and concentration slip. Also, our derived results are validated with the previously published data against various convergence flow parameters, which are demonstrated through tables. To provide more meaningful data, numerous mathematical and technical constraints are taken into consideration. Using the required conversion technique, the system of PDEs is transmuted into a non-linear ODEs. Using the shooting strategy, evaluate expressions numerically by transforming them with the MATLAB function bvp4c. The literature elaborates on a few observations on the bio-convection process and its additional unique features. The graphs demonstrate the effects of various flows on dimensionless quantities. The current theoretic model might be used to increase heat transmission, engineering practices, and thermal energy.
With the rapid development of intelligent speech technologies, automatic speaker verification (ASV) has become one of the most natural and convenient biometric speaker recognition approaches. ...However, most state-of-the-art ASV systems are vulnerable to spoofing attack techniques, such as speech synthesis, voice conversion, and replay speech. Due to the symmetry distribution characteristic between the genuine (true) speech and spoof (fake) speech pair, the spoofing attack detection is challenging. Many recent research works have been focusing on the ASV anti-spoofing solutions. This work investigates two types of new acoustic features to improve the performance of spoofing attacks. The first features consist of two cepstral coefficients and one LogSpec feature, which are extracted from the linear prediction (LP) residual signals. The second feature is a harmonic and noise subband ratio feature, which can reflect the interaction movement difference of the vocal tract and glottal airflow of the genuine and spoofing speech. The significance of these new features has been investigated in both the t-stochastic neighborhood embedding space and the binary classification modeling space. Experiments on the ASVspoof 2019 database show that the proposed residual features can achieve from 7% to 51.7% relative equal error rate (EER) reduction on the development and evaluation set over the best single system baseline. Furthermore, more than 31.2% relative EER reduction on both the development and evaluation set shows that the proposed new features contain large information complementary to the source acoustic features.

The conflict between socio-economic ...development and ecological environmental protection presents a significant challenge to achieving regional and urban sustainable development. In Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, China, this conflict arises from the interplay between urban expansion and ecological environmental protection land, creating a fundamental tension between built-up and non-built-up ecosystems. This study focuses on investigating the spatial characteristics of expansion, constructing an ecological security pattern based on ecosystem service functions and sensitivity, and utilizing integrated models to simulate urban expansion paths and analyze their formation mechanisms. The results highlight that Zhaotong City has undergone rapid urban expansion, characterized by linear growth surrounding the central city, specifically in the east, north, and west directions. The expansion between urban areas exhibits a discontinuous dotted-star distribution, with concentrated urbanization and a distinct urban boundary observed in Zhaoyang District. In contrast, other areas experience scattered expansion, indicative of random land encroachment. Through simulation, three primary urban expansion axes are identified: the western town sprawl belt, central town development axis, and resource-rich town corridor. Ecological conflicts primarily arise in Zhaoyang District, Zhenxiong County, and Yanjin County. By combining these findings, the study analyzes the scenario pattern of urban expansion evolution in Zhaotong City, revealing a transition from the spreading spillover expansion of a single center (Zhaoyang and Ludian) during the circle expansion phase to a polycentric expansion and spreading spillover pattern centered around Zhaoyang District along three primary axial radial paths. In conclusion, this study contributes to our understanding of the challenges posed by the conflict between socio-economic development and ecological environmental protection in Zhaotong City. The findings underscore the importance of integrating ecological considerations into urban planning processes and highlight the need for sustainable development practices to achieve a harmonious coexistence between urban expansion and ecological security. The insights gained from this research offer guidance for fostering sustainable urban development in Zhaotong City and beyond.
Microlens arrays can improve light transmittance in optical devices or enhance the photoelectrical conversion efficiency of photovoltaic devices. Their surface morphology (aspect ratio and packed ...density) is vital to photon management in solar cells. Here, we report a 100% packed density paraboloidal microlens array (PMLA), with a large aspect ratio, fabricated by direct-write UV laser photolithography coupled with soft imprint lithography. Optical characterization shows that the PMLA structure can remarkably decrease the front-side reflectance of solar cell device. The measured electrical parameters of the solar cell device clearly and consistently demonstrate that the PMLA film can considerably improve the photoelectrical conversion efficiency. In addition, the PMLA film has superhydrophobic properties, verified by measurement of a large water contact angle, and can enhance the self-cleaning capability of solar cell devices.
During acute pancreatitis, intestinal permeability increases due to intestinal motility dysfunction, microcirculatory disorders, and ischemia-reperfusion injury, and disturbances in the intestinal ...flora make bacterial translocation easier, which consequently leads to local or systemic complications such as pancreatic and peripancreatic necrotic infections, acute lung injury, systemic inflammatory response syndrome, and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. Therefore, adjusting intestinal ecosystem balance may be a promising approach to control local and systemic complications of acute pancreatitis. In this paper, we reviewed the causes and manifestations of intestinal flora disorders during acute pancreatitis and their complications, focused on the reduction of acute pancreatitis and its complications by adjusting the intestinal microbial balance, and innovatively proposed the treatment of acute pancreatitis and its complications by gut microbiota-derived extracellular vesicles.
