In this paper, we first identify China's carbon-intensive industries (CIIs) by constructing a carbon intensive index taking both the scale and intensity of CO2 emission into account. Then the strong ...version of Porter Hypothesis (PH), i.e., the positive effect of environmental regulation on total factor productivity (TFP) of China's CIIs is tested. In order to overcome the endogenous issue of model specification, two-stage least squares (2SLS) method is employed. The results indicate that there is a significant inverted U-shape relationship between environmental regulation intensity and the TFP of China's CIIs, demonstrating the inexistence of strong PH effect in a long run, and the impact of environmental regulation on CIIs is changing gradually from innovation offsets to compliance costs. In addition, optimal environmental regulation intensities for different CIIs are also studied according to their locations on the inverted U-shaped curve: the Production and Supply of Electric Power and Heat Power Industry has exceeded the optimal environmental regulation intensity, while the remaining CIIs have not reached their inflection points. Therefore, specific policy proposals should be formulated according to the different stages of environmental regulation in various industries.

Antigorite dehydration experiments were performed under ambient pressure using a non-isothermal thermogravimetric analysis. Antigorite, with a grain size of 5-10 µm, was analyzed using heating rates ...of 10, 15, 20, and 25 K/min at temperatures of up to 1260 K. The results show that the progress of the dehydration reaction varies with the heating rate, and the dehydration reaction of antigorite occurs within a temperature range of 800-1050 K. Several models were used to fit the dehydration results, and the double-Gaussian distribution activation energy model (2-DAEM) yielded the best fit to the experimental data. The dehydration kinetics of antigorite follow 2-DAEM, and there is a compensation effect between the pre-exponential factor and the average activation energy. The activation energy of the first step of antigorite dehydration stretches over a wide interval; the second step has a significantly higher activation energy, distributed over a narrower interval. We determined that the release rate of H2O is 8.0×10-5 and 2.1×10-3m3fluidm3rocks-1 at 893 and 973 K, respectively, which are near the onset temperature for the isothermal dehydration reaction. Our results indicate that antigorite dehydration is fast enough to induce mechanical instabilities that may trigger seismicity in the lower plane of the double seismic zone.
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has been verified as a really common cancer worldwide. Several studies have suggested that the suppression of malignancy growth can be traced to miR-199a-5p. Even ...though CDC25A could activate the tumorigenesis of various cancer by modulating cell cycle, the modulation of the miR-199a-5p/CDC25A axis is still not clear in HCC. Our aim is to identify the modulation of the miR-199a-5p/CDC25A axis in HCC.
The expression of CDC25A and miR-199a-5p in HCC cells and tissues was assessed using qRT-PCR. After using western blot assay to confirm the protein level, luciferase reporter and RNA pull-down assays were performed to explore the relation between CDC25A and miR-199a-5p. Functional assays such as CCK8 assay, BrdU proliferation assay and flow cytometry analysis identified the cell progression.
Experimental findings indicated the downregulation of miR-199a-5p in HCC samples. It was also found that miR-199a-5p overexpression declined the development of the cells with HCC and that it could bind to CDC25A to suppress the progression of HCC.
Research suggested that miR-199a-5p could restrain the proliferation ability of HCC cells by regulating CDC25A, thus inducing cell-cycle arrest.

Accumulating studies have demonstrated that the Warburg effect plays a central role in the occurrence and development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), albeit the role of non-coding RNA (lncRNA) in ...its association remains unclear.
The Zhengzhou University People's Hospital kindly provided 80 pairs of HCC tissues and their matched paracancerous tissues for this study. Bioinformatics analysis, real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction, Western blotting, and oncology functional assays were performed to determine the contribution of RP11-620J15.3 to the development of HCC. The mechanism of co-immunoprecipitation and a luciferase reporter gene was employed to ascertain how RP11-620J15.3 interacts with important molecular targets.
Our results revealed that a lncRNA termed RP11-620J15.3 was overexpressed in HCC and was substantially associated with the tumor size. A high expression of RP11-620J15.3 mRNA was found to be significantly associated with worsening prognosis in HCC patients. We discovered that RP11-620J15.3 stimulated the glycolytic pathway in HCC cells by RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) and metabolomics analyses. Mechanistically, RP11-620J15.3 acted as a competitive endogenous RNA to regulate the GPI expression by sponging miR-326 in HCC. In addition, TBP acted as a transcription factor for RP11-620J15.3, which contributed to the high expression of RP11-620J15.3 in HCC cells.
Based on our findings, lncRNA RP11-620J15.3 is a novel LncRNA that positively regulates tumor progression. Specifically, RP11-620J15.3/miR-326/GPI pathway promotes HCC malignant progression by regulating glycolysis, thereby providing novel targets for HCC treatment and drug development.

Green innovation is a major engine of economic growth in the new era. However, due to its high risk, long cycle and double externalities, green innovation often requires long-lasting financial ...support during its development. In the process of green innovation, do Chinese public listed companies show clear preferences in financing sources? What role does the "invisible hand" of the government play in the green-innovation-related financing activities of public listed companies? Drawing upon the data of green patent application and citation of A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen between 2007 and 2014, this paper employed the Poisson model for panel data to perform an empirical study to confirm the aforementioned questions. The research indicates that public listed companies can acquire the funds needed for green innovation both through internal financing and external financing. The effect of the three external financing channels, namely government subsidies, equity financing and debt financing on green innovation are gradually weakened and this result is consistent with a variety of robustness checks. Meanwhile, government subsidy can encourage public listed companies to enhance their level of green innovation through debt financing and equity financing.

Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is a highly lethal hepatobiliary neoplasm, which originates from the bile ducts proximal to the second-order division. ICC can be anatomically divided into two ...subtypes: the large duct type (mucin-production ICC, muc-ICC) and the small duct type (mixed-ICC) origins from hepatic progenitor cells (HPCs). The immunoreactivity of S100P and neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM) are useful biomarkers to distinguish the two subtypes. In this study, we report a difficult-to-diagnose case of metastatic retroperitoneal tumor of occult hepatolithiasis-associated ICC. Besides, this case was both positive for S100P and NCAM, considered as a rare muc-ICC with the HPCs features. Tumor whole exome sequencing detection results by Genetron (China) revealed that there were 41 gene mutations in this patient. The SMAD4-p.His530ThrfsTer47 and KRAS-p.Gly12Val mutation might promote the occurrence and distant metastasis of the tumor.
This paper examines the pollution haven effect from the perspective of carbon emission. Based on a theoretical analysis of how stringent environmental regulation affects carbon emission transfer ...within regions, we put forward the concept of carbon heaven effect (CHE) and explore the mechanism that environmental regulation influences carbon emissions through investment. We employ a mediating effect model to empirically study the existence of CHE in terms of per capita carbon emission, carbon emission intensity, and the proportion of regional carbon emission to the national emission. Further, the impacts of environmental regulation on the scale expansion and employment of carbon-intensive industries (CIIs) are investigated. Our results indicate that: (1) The CHE does exist in China, i.e., different environmental regulation intensities among different areas have indeed caused carbon emission transfer within regions; (2) The impact of environmental regulation on carbon emissions includes the total effect of emission reduction and the indirect effect of carbon-intensive industrial investment transfer; (3) The scale and employment of CIIs in regions with stringent environmental regulation have been constrained, while the regions with weaker environmental regulation become the havens for CIIs development; (4) Giving that the emission reduction targets were assigned and implemented at the provincial level since 2006, we further examine the effects of this constrain policy on CHE, and find that the impacts of environmental regulation on local carbon emission has strengthened.

As one type of voluntary environmental regulations, environmental disclosure plays an important role in promoting sustainable development of enterprises by enhancing their environmental awareness. ...Based on the social responsibility and annual reports published by heavily polluting listed companies in China between 2007 and 2016, this article investigates their environmental disclosure and assesses the impact on their green innovation activities as well as its influence mechanisms. Text analysis is used to measure the environmental disclosure by way of three dimensions including environmental investment and management, environmental supervision and agency certification, and environmental performance and governance. The results of the Poisson regression model for panel data show that environmental disclosure has significantly encouraged green innovations carried out by heavily polluting listed companies in China during the past decade and this result is consistent with a variety of robustness checks. Besides, the mediation effect test demonstrates that environmental disclosure stimulated green innovations of heavily polluting listed companies by expanding their financing channels, promoting their product sales, and raising media attention.

With more and more serious resource and environment issues in China, the upgradation of industrial structure dominated by heavy industry is key to its sustainable development. In this paper, we try to evaluate the effects of national environmental information disclosure program on regional industrial structure upgradation during 2003 and 2017. Taking the promulgation of Environmental Information Disclosure Measures (for Trail Implementation) in China as a quasi-natural experiment, this paper employs the difference-in-differences (DID) method to conduct an empirical analysis. The results indicate that the disclosure of pollution information transparency index (PITI) at the city level has significantly upgraded local industrial structure and promoted its ecological transformation, and a series of robustness tests have also been conducted to provide further evidences. Moreover, the heterogeneity tests demonstrate that the effects of environmental information disclosure on regional industrial structure vary by government-enterprise relationship and geographical location.
