Rapid and accurate biomass and yield estimation facilitates efficient plant phenotyping and site-specific crop management. A low altitude unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was used to acquire RGB and ...hyperspectral imaging data for a potato crop canopy at two growth stages to estimate the above-ground biomass and predict crop yield. Field experiments included six cultivars and multiple treatments of nitrogen, potassium, and mixed compound fertilisers. Crop height was estimated using the difference between digital surface model and digital elevation models derived from RGB imagery. Combining with two narrow-band vegetation indices selected by the RReliefF feature selection algorithm. Random Forest regression models demonstrated high prediction accuracy for both fresh and dry above-ground biomass, with a coefficient of determination (r2) > 0.90. Crop yield was predicted using four narrow-band vegetation indices and crop height (r2 = 0.63) with imagery data obtained 90 days after planting. A Partial Least Squares regression model based on the full wavelength spectra demonstrated improved yield prediction (r2 = 0.81). This study demonstrated the merits of UAV-based RGB and hyperspectral imaging for estimating the above-ground biomass and yield of potato crops, which can be used to assist in site-specific crop management.
User-generated content (UGC) is developing rapidly as an emerging platform form, however, the problem of indirect copyright infringement by algorithms is becoming more and more prominent, and ...infringement governance has become a key act in the development of UGC platforms. When infringement occurs, recommendation algorithms expand the scope and results of infringement, while platforms choose to conspire with direct infringers for their own interests, making it difficult for infringed persons to defend their rights. In order to analyse the influence of different factors in the platform ecosystem on the subject's behavioural strategies, a "platform-infringer" evolutionary game model is constructed, and numerical simulation is used to verify the correctness of the stable results. Based on the simulation results, it is concluded that the factors of uncertain revenue, punishment and reputation loss have important influence on the decision-making behaviour of the subject of infringement governance, and accordingly, the proposed measures on the publishers, platforms and the legal level of the government are conducive to the evolution of the system to the point of positive regulation and stability of rights protection, with a view to promoting the healthier and more stable development of the UGC platforms.

Phenotyping plays an important role in crop science research; the accurate and rapid acquisition of phenotypic information of plants or cells in different environments is helpful for exploring the ...inheritance and expression patterns of the genome to determine the association of genomic and phenotypic information to increase the crop yield. Traditional methods for acquiring crop traits, such as plant height, leaf color, leaf area index (LAI), chlorophyll content, biomass and yield, rely on manual sampling, which is time-consuming and laborious. Unmanned aerial vehicle remote sensing platforms (UAV-RSPs) equipped with different sensors have recently become an important approach for fast and non-destructive high throughput phenotyping and have the advantage of flexible and convenient operation, on-demand access to data and high spatial resolution. UAV-RSPs are a powerful tool for studying phenomics and genomics. As the methods and applications for field phenotyping using UAVs to users who willing to derive phenotypic parameters from large fields and tests with the minimum effort on field work and getting highly reliable results are necessary, the current status and perspectives on the topic of UAV-RSPs for field-based phenotyping were reviewed based on the literature survey of crop phenotyping using UAV-RSPs in the Web of Science™ Core Collection database and cases study by NERCITA. The reference for the selection of UAV platforms and remote sensing sensors, the commonly adopted methods and typical applications for analyzing phenotypic traits by UAV-RSPs, and the challenge for crop phenotyping by UAV-RSPs were considered. The review can provide theoretical and technical support to promote the applications of UAV-RSPs for crop phenotyping.
Abstract
Distant metastasis (DM) is the main cause of treatment failure in locally advanced rectal cancer. Adjuvant chemotherapy is usually used for distant control. However, not all patients can ...benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy, and particularly, some patients may even get worse outcomes after the treatment. We develop and validate an MRI-based radiomic signature (RS) for prediction of DM within a multicenter dataset. The RS is proved to be an independent prognostic factor as it not only demonstrates good accuracy for discriminating patients into high and low risk of DM in all the four cohorts, but also outperforms clinical models. Within the stratified analysis, good chemotherapy efficacy is observed for patients with pN2 disease and low RS, whereas poor chemotherapy efficacy is detected in patients with pT1–2 or pN0 disease and high RS. The RS may help individualized treatment planning to select patients who may benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy for distant control.
Leaf area index (LAI) is an important indicator of plant growth and yield that can be monitored by remote sensing. Several models were constructed using datasets derived from SRS and STR sampling ...methods to determine the optimal model for soybean (multiple strains) LAI inversion for the whole crop growth period and a single growth period. Random forest (RF), artificial neural network (ANN), and support vector machine (SVM) regression models were compared with a partial least-squares regression (PLS) model. The RF model yielded the highest precision, accuracy, and stability with V-R2, SDR2, V-RMSE, and SDRMSE values of 0.741, 0.031, 0.106, and 0.005, respectively, over the whole growth period based on STR sampling. The ANN model had the highest precision, accuracy, and stability (0.452, 0.132, 0.086, and 0.009, respectively) over a single growth phase based on STR sampling. The precision, accuracy, and stability of the RF, ANN, and SVM models were improved by inclusion of STR sampling. The RF model is suitable for estimating LAI when sample plots and variation are relatively large (i.e., the whole growth period or more than one growth period). The ANN model is more appropriate for estimating LAI when sample plots and variation are relatively low (i.e., a single growth period).
Crop emergence and canopy cover are important physiological traits for potato (
L.) cultivar evaluation and nutrients management. They play important roles in variety screening, field management and ...yield prediction. Traditional manual assessment of these traits is not only laborious but often subjective.
In this study, semi-automated image analysis software was developed to estimate crop emergence from high-resolution RGB ortho-images captured from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Potato plant objects were extracted from bare soil using Excess Green Index and Otsu thresholding methods. Six morphological features were calculated from the images to be variables of a Random Forest classifier for estimating the number of potato plants at emergence stage. The outputs were then used to estimate crop emergence in three field experiments that were designed to investigate the effects of cultivars, levels of potassium (K) fertiliser input, and new compound fertilisers on potato growth. The results indicated that RGB UAV image analysis can accurately estimate potato crop emergence rate in comparison to manual assessment, with correlation coefficient (
) of 0.96 and provide an efficient tool to evaluate emergence uniformity.
The proposed UAV image analysis method is a promising tool for use as a high throughput phenotyping method for assessing potato crop development at emergence stage. It can also facilitate future studies on optimizing fertiliser management and improving emergence consistency.
Autophagy begins with the nucleation of phagophores, which then expand to give rise to the double-membrane autophagosomes. Autophagosomes ultimately fuse with lysosomes, where the cytosolic cargoes ...are degraded. Accumulation of autophagosomes is a hallmark of autophagy and neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer’s and Huntington’s disease. In recent years, the sources of autophagosome membrane have attracted a great deal of interests, even so, the membrane donors for autophagosomes are still under debate. In this review, we describe the probable sources of autophagosome membrane.
Aims
Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is one of the most threaten disease in the world. Ginkgetin aglycone (GA) was a new kind of Ginkgo biloba, involved in various diseases, including kidney injury ...and acute pancreatitis. However, the function of GA in AMI remains unknown. The aim of the study was to investigate the characteristics and function of GA in ischemic‐reperfusion injury.
Methods
H2O
2‐ and CoCl
2‐treated H9C2 cells were used to analyze the function of GA in vitro. Caspase 3, interleukin‐6 (IL‐6), and tumor necrosis factor‐α were detected to evaluate the apoptosis and inflammation response. Rat AMI was performed to elucidate the function in vivo.
Results
We found that GA could reduce the apoptosis and improved cell survival of H2O
2‐treated H9C2 cardiomyocytes and CoCl
2‐treated H9C2 cells. GA attenuated CoCl
2‐induced inflammatory response and the level of cleaved caspase 33, suggesting that GA could alleviate the cell apoptosis. GA improved the cardiac function and attenuated the inflammatory cell infiltration in vivo. We also found that nuclear factor‐kB signaling pathway, which was activated under hypoxia environment, was also suppressed in the GA‐treated group.
Conclusion
We verified the function and mechanism of GA and provide evidence that GA may play a vital role in ischemic‐reperfusion injury, and understanding the precise role of GA will undoubtedly shed new light on the clinical treatment.

Conventional parameters show limited and unreliable correlations with medulloblastoma prognosis.
To evaluate the factors influencing overall survival (OS), event-free survival (EFS), and ...progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with medulloblastoma.
PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, and Web of Science were searched for studies published up to May 2021. The associations between various clinical and treatment factors and survival parameters were assessed.
Twenty-nine studies (8455 patients) were included. Desmoplastic medulloblastoma (HR=0.41, 95%CI: 0.31-0.56), M0 disease (HR=2.07, 95%CI: 1.48-2.89), WNT, SSH, group 4 (all P<0.05 vs. group 3), GTR vs. STR (HR=1.37, 95%CI: 1.04-1.08), radiotherapy (HR=0.45, 95%CI: 0.20-0.80), craniospinal irradiation (HR=0.49, 95%CI: 0.38-0.64), and high 5hmC levels (HR=2.90, 95%CI: 1.85-4.55) were associated with a better OS. WNT, SSH, group 4 (all P<0.05 vs. group 3), residual tumor ≤1.5 cm
(HR=2.08, 95%CI: 1.18-3.68), GTR vs. STR (HR=1.31, 95%CI: 1.03-1.68), craniospinal irradiation (HR=0.46, 95%CI: 0.37-0.57), high 5hmC levels (HR=3.10, 95%CI: 2.01-4.76), and <49 days between resection and radiotherapy (HR=2.54, 95%CI: 1.48-4.37) were associated with better PFS. Classic vs. desmoplastic medulloblastoma (HR=1.81, 95%CI: 1.04-3.16), SSH, WNT (both P<0.05 vs, non-SSH/non-WNT), GTR vs. STR (HR=2.01, 95%CI: 1.42-2.85), and radiotherapy (HR=0.31, 95%CI: 0.15-0.64) were associated with a better EFS.
Histology, molecular subgroup, GTR, and radiotherapy are significantly associated with survival parameters in patients with medulloblastoma. Nevertheless, high-quality prospective cohort studies are necessary to improve the conclusions.
