Cloud computing is a new way of data storage, where users tend to upload video data to cloud servers without redundantly local copies. However, it keeps the data out of users' hands which would ...conventionally control and manage the data. Therefore, it becomes the key issue on how to ensure the integrity and reliability of the video data stored in the cloud for the provision of video streaming services to end users. This paper details the verification methods for the integrity of video data encrypted using the fully homomorphic crytosystems in the context of cloud computing. Specifically, we apply dynamic operation to video data stored in the cloud with the method of block tags, so that the integrity of the data can be successfully verified. The whole process is based on the analysis of present Remote Data Integrity Checking (RDIC) methods.
Lattice thermal conductivity is a key property of materials for applications ranging from thermal barrier coatings to thermoelectric conversion. In principle, the thermal conductivity can be ...accurately predicted by solving the phonon Boltzmann transport equation, which is however very time-consuming, especially for complex systems with large unit cell. Here, using half-Heusler compounds as prototypical examples, we apply a compressed-sensing approach to rapidly evaluate the lattice thermal conductivity with very good accuracy, as realized by a physically interpretable descriptor. Beyond the initial 86 training data, the descriptor is employed to predict the thermal conductivities of 75 half- and 15 full-Heusler compounds, which shows good agreement with explicit first-principles results. Moreover, the descriptor is further optimized by including only the fundamental properties of the constituent atoms, which could accelerate materials discovery with desirable thermal conductivity.
According to the latest research, lncRNAs (long non-coding RNAs) play a broad and important role in various biological processes by interacting with proteins. However, identifying whether proteins ...interact with a specific lncRNA through biological experimental methods is difficult, costly, and time-consuming. Thus, many bioinformatics computational methods have been proposed to predict lncRNA-protein interactions. In this paper, we proposed a novel approach called Long non-coding RNA-Protein Interaction Prediction based on Improved Bipartite Network Recommender Algorithm (LPI-IBNRA). In the proposed method, we implemented a two-round resource allocation and eliminated the second-order correlations appropriately on the bipartite network. Experimental results illustrate that LPI-IBNRA outperforms five previous methods, with the AUC values of 0.8932 in leave-one-out cross validation (LOOCV) and 0.8819 ± 0.0052 in 10-fold cross validation, respectively. In addition, case studies on four lncRNAs were carried out to show the predictive power of LPI-IBNRA.
To provide new methods and ideas for the clinical application of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of esophageal cancer.
Traditional Chinese medicine compound ...Kushen injection (CKI) has been widely used in the clinic with adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy. However, the mechanism of action of CKI as adjuvant therapy for esophageal cancer has not yet been described.
This study is based on network pharmacology, data mining, and molecular docking technology to explore the mechanism of action of CKI in the treatment of esophageal cancer. We obtained the effective ingredients and targets of CKI from the traditional Chinese medicine system pharmacology database and analysis platform (TCMSP) and esophageal cancer-related genes from the Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM) and GeneCards databases.
CKI mainly contains 58 active components. Among them, the top 5 active ingredients are quercetin, luteolin, naringenin, formononetin, and beta-sitostero. The target protein of the active ingredient was matched with the genes associated with esophageal cancer. The active ingredients targeted 187 esophageal cancer target proteins, including AKT1, MAPK1, MAPK3, TP53, HSP90AA1, and other proteins. Then, we enriched and analyzed the Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) and used AutoDockVina to dock the core targets and compounds. Finally, PyMOL and Ligplot were used for data visualization.
This study provides a new method and ideas for the clinical application of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of esophageal cancer.
To investigate the relationship between the expression of linc-VLDLR in extracellular vesicles (EVs) and esophageal carcinomas development and drug resistance.
The expression of linc-VLDLR and ABCG2 ...mRNA in 60 cases of esophageal carcinoma tissue, para-carcinoma tissue and the normal esophagus tissue were detected using Fluorescence quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Fifty percent inhibiting concentration (IC50) of adriamycin (ADM) to Eca109 cells was detected by MTT assay, after the treatment of different concentrations of adriamycin (ADM) on esophageal squamous cell carcinoma Eca109 cell line for 24 h. EVs were extracted from culture medium after the treatment of three concentrations of ADM (setting based on the IC50) on Eca109 cells for 24 h. Linc-VLDLR expression in EVs was detected by qRT-PCR. After the treatment of the extracted EVs on virgin Eca109 cells for 48 h, then intervening these cells for 24 h by different concentrations of ADM, the new values of IC50 were detected by MTT assay. Cell cycle, cell apoptosis and ABCG2 protein expression of these Eca109 cells were detected by flow cytometry (FCM). Linc-VLDLR and ABCG2 mRNA expression in these Eca109 cells were detected by qRT-PCR.
Expression of linc-VLDLR and ABCG2 mRNA in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissue were significantly higher than that in esophageal atypical hyperplasia and normal esophagus tissue, P < 0.01. After the treatment of ADM on Eca109 cells for 24 h, IC50 of Eca109 cells was detected as (0.44 ± 0.02) μg/mL, thus ADM concentrations of 0, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.8 μg/mL were selected to accomplish the following parts of this study. After four groups of Eca109 cells were treated by ADM in different concentrations separately, extracted EVs from the supernatant of all four groups, then labeling these four groups as EVs1, 2, 3 and 4. Linc-VLDLR expression in EVs4 was significantly higher than that in EVs1-3, P < 0.01. After the treatment of EVs1-4 on virgin Eca109 cells for 48 h, new values of IC50 of Eca109 to ADM were detected by MTT. It was found that the IC50 value of group EVs4 was significantly higher than that of other groups, P < 0.05. Flow cytometry results showed that the proliferation index of Eca109 cells in EVs4 was significantly higher than that in EVs1-3 and control groups, P < 0.01. Whereas, there was an obviously downward trend in the apoptosis rate of EVs4, compared to other three groups, P < 0.01. Linc-VLDLR and ABCG2 mRNA and protein expression level in Eca109 cells of EVs4 group were significantly higher than that of EVs1-3 and control groups, P < 0.05.
High expression of Linc-VLDLR and ABCG2 gene in esophageal cancer cells affected the formation of esophageal cancer drug resistance. EVs released by drug-resistant cells were proved that they could upregulate the expression of ABCG2 in esophageal cancer cells and thus regulate the drug resistance of esophageal cancer cells, which was related to the linc-VLDLR carried by EVs.
Salvianolic acid B (Sal B) is one of the main active ingredients of Sa
Bunge. In China, many traditional Chinese medicines have been modified into injections for higher bioavailability and better ...efficacy. Salvianolic acid injection has been widely used in the clinic.
This phase 1, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, single-center study aimed to evaluate the safety, tolerance, and pharmacokinetics of Sal B injection in healthy Chinese volunteers.
For the single-ascending-dose study, forty-seven healthy volunteers were randomly divided into 25, 75, 150, 200, 250, and 300 mg groups. For the multiple-ascending-dose study, sixteen healthy volunteers were randomly divided into 150 and 300 mg groups. In each group, volunteers were treated with Sal B or placebo randomly. Their safety was evaluated by a skin test, physical examination, vital sign, laboratory examination, 12-lead electrocardiogram, Holter, and clinical symptoms and signs. Blood samples were collected in 75, 150, and 300 mg single-ascending-dose study groups and 150 mg multiple-ascending-dose study groups to determine the concentration of salvianolic acid B.
In single-ascending-dose study groups, there were 41 adverse events in 24 cases (51.1%, 24/47). In multiple-ascending-dose study groups, there were 13 adverse events in eight cases (50.0%, 8/16). Sixty-six volunteers received the skin test, and three of them were excluded because of the positive result. Adverse events related to the treatment included increased alanine aminotransferase (4.0%), increased bilirubin (2.0%), increased creatinine kinase-MB (2.0%), increased brain natriuretic peptide (8.0%), increased urine N-acetyl-β-D-glucosidase (4.0%), dizziness (2.0%), and chest discomfort (2.0%). No serious adverse events occurred. No volunteers withdrew from the trial. Peak plasma concentration and the area under the plasma concentration-time curve of salvianolic acid B progressively increased in a dose-dependent manner in 75, 150, and 300 mg single-ascending-dose study groups. There was no accumulation after 5 consecutive days of administration of 150 mg salvianolic acid B.
Salvianolic acid B injections administered up to 300 mg in a single dose and 250 mg for 5 consecutive days showed excellent safety and tolerability in healthy Chinese volunteers.

Wireless sensor nodes (SNs) are usually energy-limited, a low energy efficiency of SN may be caused by the occlusion of transmission link in the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-enabled data collection. ...Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) provide potential communication opportunities by reflecting and enhancing the signal, thus increasing SNs' energy efficiency. This paper investigates energy-efficient data collection aided by N RIS elements, where a height-fixed and flight time-constrained UAV is considered as the collector, a tractable air-to-ground channel model is established considering the cascaded RIS channel and time-varying trajectory of UAV, and energy consumption of SNs is minimized. Specifically, coupling two intractable fourth-order moment variables, the air-to-ground channel model is processed into an easily computable expression through the Gamma function. Furthermore, based on the proposed two RIS deployment schemes, maximum energy consumption of SNs minimization problem is formulated as a non-convex mixed-integer nonlinear programming (NMNP) problem with optimization of UAV trajectory and SNs wake-up schedules. Additionally, through the slack technique and Taylor expansion, the NMNP problem is decoupled as linear programming and quadratically constrained quadratic programming, and an effective algorithm is designed to obtain the sub-optimal solution. Simulations prove the validity of our algorithm and RIS deployment insights are given for SNs energy saving.
Diabetic foot ulcers (DFU), which may lead to lower extremity amputation, is one of the severe and chronic complications of diabetic mellitus. This study aims to develop, and use dressings based on ...Silk fibroin (SF) as the scaffold material, gelatin microspheres (GMs) as the carrier for the neurotensin (NT), a neuropeptide that acts as an inflammatory modulator in wound healing and NT as accelerate wound healing drug to treat DFU. We evaluated the wound healing processes and neo-tissue formation in rat diabetic model by macroscopic observation, histological observation (H&E staining and Masson's trichrome staining) and immunofluorescence analysis at 3, 7, 14, 21 and 28 post-operation days. Our results show that the NT/GMs/SF group performance the best not only in macroscopic healing and less scars in 28 post-operation days, but also in fibroblast accumulation in tissue granulation, collagen expression and deposition at the wound site. From release profiles, we can know the GMs are a good carrier for control release drugs. The SEM results shows that the NT/GMs/SF dressings have an average pore size are 40–80 μm and a porosity of ∼85%, this pore size is suit for wound healing regeneration. These results suggest that the NT/GMs/SF dressings may work as an effective support for control release NT to promote DFU wound healing.

In this paper, a method of dose-modulated maskless lithography (DMML) with high efficiency for the fabrication of a special compound-eyes array with enlarged field-of-view is proposed. Before the ...fabrication process, practical measurements were primarily conducted to quantify the dose-modulated effect. Next, a digital gray pattern, generated according to the required exposure dose distribution of the design structure, was adopted as a virtual mask to modulate the exposure depth point-by-point. In this way, the whole exposure process requires only one-step. Besides, because the DMML uses sequential gray-levels to modulate the exposure depth, the fabricated structure has a more continuous profile surface. Combined with the thermal reflow process, and the pattern reversion process, the compound eyes array was transferred to the planar polydimethylsiloxane films with high quality. Subsequent tests reveal that the physical performance of fabricated compound eyes array, including the surface profile and the rotated orientation, has a good agreement with our design.
