. These effects were assessed in two mountain ranges of northwest China and for two contrasting phenotypes of the cushion species inhabiting two different microtopographic positions. The large- and small-scale abiotic effects include the site and microhabitat effects, respectively, while the large- and small-scale biotic effects include the effects of cushion presence and cushion phenotype, respectively. Soil microbial communities were characterized by Illumina Miseq sequencing. Uni- and multivariate statistics were used to test the effects of abiotic and biotic factors at both scales. Results indicated that the site effect representing the soil pH and abiotic hydrothermal conditions mainly affected bacterial community structure, whereas fungal community structure was mainly affected by biotic factors with an equal contribution of cushion presence and cushion phenotype effects. Future studies should analyze the direct factors contributing to shaping microbial community structure in particular of the cushion phenotypes.
This study introduces a pioneering multimodal fusion framework to enhance near-field 3D Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging, crucial for applications like radar cross-section measurement and ...concealed object detection. Traditional near-field 3D SAR imaging struggles with issues like target–background confusion due to clutter and multipath interference, shape distortion from high sidelobes, and lack of color and texture information, all of which impede effective target recognition and scattering diagnosis. The proposed approach presents the first known application of multimodal fusion in near-field 3D SAR imaging, integrating LiDAR and optical camera data to overcome its inherent limitations. The framework comprises data preprocessing, point cloud registration, and data fusion, where registration between multi-sensor data is the core of effective integration. Recognizing the inadequacy of traditional registration methods in handling varying data formats, noise, and resolution differences, particularly between near-field 3D SAR and other sensors, this work introduces a novel three-stage registration process to effectively address these challenges. First, the approach designs a structure–intensity-constrained centroid distance detector, enabling key point extraction that reduces heterogeneity and accelerates the process. Second, a sample consensus initial alignment algorithm with SHOT features and geometric relationship constraints is proposed for enhanced coarse registration. Finally, the fine registration phase employs adaptive thresholding in the iterative closest point algorithm for precise and efficient data alignment. Both visual and quantitative analyses of measured data demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. The experimental results show significant improvements in registration accuracy and efficiency, laying the groundwork for future multimodal fusion advancements in near-field 3D SAR imaging.
Industrial waste steam is one of the major sources of global energy losses. Therefore, the collection and conversion of waste steam energy into electricity have aroused great interest. Here, a ...“two‐in‐one” strategy is reported that combines thermoelectric and moist‐electric generation mechanisms for a highly efficient flexible moist‐thermoelectric generator (MTEG). The spontaneous adsorption of water molecules and heat in the polyelectrolyte membrane induces the fast dissociation and diffusion of Na+ and H+, resulting in the high electricity generation. Thus, the assembled flexible MTEG generates power with a high open‐circuit voltage (Voc) of 1.81 V (effective area = 1cm2) and a power density of up to 4.75±0.4 µW cm−2. With efficient integration, a 12‐unit MTEG can produce a Voc of 15.97 V, which is superior to most known TEGs and MEGs. The integrated and flexible MTEGs reported herein provide new insights for harvesting energy from industrial waste steam.

Motivation: Infection (bacteria in the wound) and ischemia (insufficient blood supply) in Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFUs) increase the risk of limb amputation. Goal: To develop an image-based DFU ...infection and ischemia detection system that uses deep learning. Methods: The DFU dataset was augmented using geometric and color image operations, after which binary infection and ischemia classification was done using the EfficientNet deep learning model and a comprehensive set of baselines. Results: The EfficientNets model achieved 99% accuracy in ischemia classification and 98% in infection classification, outperforming ResNet and Inception (87% accuracy) and Ensemble CNN, the prior state of the art (Classification accuracy of 90% for ischemia 73% for infection). EfficientNets also classified test images in a fraction (10% to 50%) of the time taken by baseline models. Conclusions: This work demonstrates that EfficientNets is a viable deep learning model for infection and ischemia classification.
Low-speed two-stroke marine diesel engines dominate the modern global long-distance transportation market; with the increasingly stringent regulations, the combustion and emissions of these engines ...is gaining intense interest. The primary objective of the present study was to understand the effects of air-fuel mixing by pilot injection strategy on the combustion and emission characteristics of the marine diesel engines through a numerical study. Specifically, a computational fluid dynamic (CFD) model was established and validated by experimental data for a typical low-speed two-stroke marine diesel engine. The combustion parameters under different stages were analyzed, including mean in-cylinder temperature and pressure, indicated thermal efficiency (ITE), indicated specific fuel consumption (ISFC), and distribution of fuel-air mixture. Results indicated that, due to the premixing effect, the pilot injection produced unburned soot from the main injection’s ignition as well as decrease the intervals between the middle and final stages of combustion, thus raising the in-cylinder temperature. The interaction between the reduction of soot particles resulted from the increased temperature, and the decrease of the stage intervals led to lower overall boundary heat loss, which improved the effective thermal efficiency. The pilot injection timing and quality, respectively, showed quadratic and linear impact modes on engine performance and emissions.

vg/kg of rAAV9-coGAA by tail vein, a drug for our ongoing clinical trials for Pompe disease. The pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and cellular responses combined with in vitro NAb assay validated the different impacts of preexisting NAbs at different levels in vivo. Sustained GAA expression in the heart, liver, diaphragm, and quadriceps were observed. The presence of high-level NAb, a titer about 1:1000, accelerated vector clearance in blood and completely blocked transduction. The AAV-specific T cell responses tended to increase when the titer of NAb exceeded 1:200. A low-level NAbs, near 1:100, had no effect on transduction in the heart and liver as well as cellular responses, but decreased transduction in muscles slightly. Therefore, we propose to preclude patients with NAb titers > 1:100 from rAAV9-coGAA clinical trials.
Rubber shock absorbers are widely used to reduce vibration in aerospace load devices due to their high damping characteristics. However, due to the material nonlinearity of rubber and high ...temperature, the accurate numerical simulation and practical application of rubber shock absorbers face difficulties and challenges. In this paper, taking a T-type rubber shock absorber as an example, according to the correlation data obtained from the performance test of rubber materials, a constitutive model of rubber materials is established for its hyperelasticity-viscoelasticity simulation analysis. On this basis, the rubber shock absorber was used to carry out the numerical simulation and experimental verification of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Light Detection And Ranging (LiDAR). The results show that when the rubber constitutive model is used for simulation analysis, the obtained acceleration response curve on the UAV LiDAR is in good agreement with the test results, which effectively confirms the accuracy of the numerical simulation, and successfully verifies that the rubber shock absorber is suitable for vibration reduction of UAV LiDAR. At the same time, this method also provides a practical and effective solution for the vibration reduction design of rubber shock absorbers.
Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is highly heterogeneous. Here, the authors perform exome sequencing and bulk RNA sequencing on 73 tumor regions from 14 ICC patients to portray the multi‐faceted ...intratumor heterogeneity (ITH) landscape of ICC. The authors show that ITH is highly concordant across genomic, transcriptomic, and immune levels. Comparison of these data to 8 published datasets reveals significantly higher degrees of ITH in ICC than hepatocellular carcinoma. Remarkably, the authors find that high‐ITH tumors highly overlap with the IDH (isocitrate dehydrogenase)‐mutant subgroup (IDH‐SG), comprising of IDH‐mutated tumors and IDH‐like tumors, that is, those IDH‐wildtype tumors that exhibit similar molecular profiles to the IDH‐mutated ones. Furthermore, IDH‐SG exhibits less T cell infiltration and lower T cell cytotoxicity, indicating a colder tumor microenvironment (TME). The higher ITH and colder TME of IDH‐SG are successfully validated by single‐cell RNA sequencing on 17 503 cells from 4 patients. Collectively, the study shows that IDH mutant subgroup status, rather than IDH mutation alone, is associated with ITH and the TME of ICC tumors. The results highlight that IDH‐like patients may also benefit from IDH targeted therapies and provide important implications for the diagnosis and treatment of ICC.

With the improvement of people's living standards and the development of tourism, tourists have greater freedom in choosing destinations. Therefore, as an indicator of satisfaction with scenic spots, ...tourist comments are becoming increasingly prominent. This paper aims to compare and analyze the landscape image of the Five Great Mountains in China and provide specific strategies for its development. The online reviews of tourists on the Online Travel Agency (OTA) website about the Five Great Mountains from 2015 to 2018 are collected as research samples. The text analysis method and R language are used to analyze the content of the tourist reviews, while the high-frequency words in the word cloud are used for visual display. In addition, the entropy weight method is used to determine the index weight and tourist satisfaction is evaluated to understand the weaknesses of those scenic spots. The results of the study show that firstly, the tourist satisfaction with the Five Great Mountains is basically consistent with its popularity. Secondly, through weight analysis, tourists pay special attention to the landscape features and environmental health of the scenic area, so that relevant departments should focus on building the landscape characteristics and improving the environmental health of the scenic area. At the same time, the accommodation and service management of the scenic spot cannot be ignored. Finally, according to the analysis results, suggestions are made on how to improve the tourist satisfaction with the Five Great Mountains.
