at different collision energies are presented. We also study two-particle angular correlations for stable charged particles. Results of simulations with PYTHIA, EPOS, SMASH, and UrQMD event generators are compared to available data. Connections of studied quantities with physics mechanisms in MC generators are discussed. We suggest a tuned set of parameters to address observed discrepancies between data and PYTHIA.
This paper investigates the performance of the underground detector at the Tien Shan High-Altitude Station for the registration of cosmic muons produced in extensive air showers (EAS) using a ...simulation with GEANT4. The capability of reconstructing the energy spectrum of EAS muons based on the multiplicity of neutrons produced in interactions of the muons with the detector material and measured with neutron counters was analyzed. The best technique for the reconstruction of the muon energy spectrum is recommended according to the simulation results.

The plane and bending problems for a circular elastic plate with two dissimilar cylindrically orthotropic layers are solved. The bending problem is solved using refined theories. It is hypothesized ...that the distributions of radial displacements in the layers are described by different linear functions of the transverse coordinate. The interaction of the layers is described as the action of the normal and tangential contact stresses represented by power polynomials with unknown coefficients determined from conditions of perfect bonding between the layers. A specific example is considered. Quantitative and qualitative conclusions are drawn
The existence of two correction coefficients traditionally introduced to account for the effect of the distribution of tangential stresses over the thickness of a plate is discussed. The virtual-work ...principle is used to generalize the expressions for the coefficients to the case of arbitrary loading. These expressions and hypotheses for displacements help to derive equations for orthotropic rectangular plates subject to tangential surface loads. These equations account for the effect of the distribution of tangential stresses over the thickness of the plate. Numerical examples are given. The results obtained are compared with those produced by other theories

The spectrum of Cherenkov gluons is calculated within the framework of in-medium QCD. It is compared with experimental data on the double-humped structure around the away-side jet obtained in the ...experiments STAR and PHENIX at RHIC. The values of the real and imaginary parts of the permittivity of the medium created in ultrarelativistic nuclear collisions are obtained from these fits. It is shown that accounting for an additional smearing of transverse momenta of Cherenkov gluons in the medium allows to provide a very good description of the experimental data.
We present measurements of the reduction of light output by plastic scintillators irradiated in the CMS detector during the 8 TeV run of the Large Hadron Collider and show that they indicate a strong ...dose rate effect. The damage for a given dose is larger for lower dose rate exposures. The results agree with previous measurements of dose rate effects, but are stronger due to the very low dose rates probed. We show that the scaling with dose rate is consistent with that expected from diffusion effects.
Studies of the characteristics of baseline spike activity in the central and basolateral nuclei of the amygdala demonstrated significant differences between these nuclei. Lesioning of the medial ...cervical nucleus, which is one of the sources of ascending serotoninergic projections of the forebrain, led to marked and generally reciprocal changes in the spike activity of the amygdalar nuclei studied. It is suggested that serotoninergic afferentation from the medial cervical nucleus modulates the activity of amygdalar nuclei with different functional assignments.
