Penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses akulturasi budaya Melayu dan Batak Toba di Tanjungbalai Asahan, serta seberapa besar pengaruh Sultan Asahan dalam ...proses akulturasi budaya Melayu dan Batak Toba di Asahan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses akulturasi budaya Melayu dan budaya Batak Toba Muslim di kota Tanjungbalai berawal dari pemerintah Sultan Asahan I yang memerintah di kota Tanjungbalai sebelum kemerdekaan Negara Republik Indonesia. Tokoh agama (ulama) dan tokoh adat juga turut berperan dalam proses akulturasi nilai budaya Melayu di Kota Tanjungbalai, khususnya pada etnis Batak Toba Muslim. Akulturasi antar dua budaya ini melahirkan sebuah budaya Melayu yang memiliki ciri khas yang berbeda dengan budaya Melayu di Nusantara. Melayu di kota ini memiliki sifat serta karakter yang cenderung kasar dan keras, seperti karakter etnis Batak toba.
Lignocellulosic rice processing residue was pretreated in liquid hot water (LHW) at three different temperatures (140, 160, and 180 °C) and two pretreatment times (10 and 20 min) in order to assess ...its effects on hydrolysates composition, matrix structural changes and methane yield. The concentrations of acetic acid, 5-hydroxymethylfurfural and furfural increased with pretreatment severity (log Ro). The maximum methane yield (276 L kg−1 VS) was achieved under pretreatment conditions of 180 °C for 20 min, with a 63% increase compared to untreated biomass. Structural changes resulted in a slight removal of silica on the upper portion of rice husks, visible predominantly at maximum severity. However, the outer epidermis was kept well organized. The results indicate, at severities 2.48 ≤ log Ro ≤ 3.66, a significant potential for the use of LHW to improve methane production from rice processing residue.

Our results suggest that expressions of LDH-A and lactate by macrophage in the tumor microenvironment are major drivers of T-cell immunosuppression, strongly supporting the concept of targeting stromal LDH-A as an effective strategy to blunt tumoral immune escape.

Noncoding small RNAs, such as microRNAs, are becoming the biomarkers of choice for multiple diseases in clinical diagnostics. A dysregulation of these microRNAs can be associated with many different ...diseases, such as cancer, dementia, and cardiovascular conditions. The key for effective treatment is an accurate initial diagnosis at an early stage, improving the patient's survival chances. In this work, the first clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/Cas13a‐powered microfluidic, integrated electrochemical biosensor for the on‐site detection of microRNAs is introduced. Through this unique combination, the quantification of the potential tumor markers microRNA miR‐19b and miR‐20a is realized without any nucleic acid amplification. With a readout time of 9 min and an overall process time of less than 4 h, a limit of detection of 10 pm is achieved, using a measuring volume of less than 0.6 µL. Furthermore, the feasibility of the biosensor platform to detect miR‐19b in serum samples of children, suffering from brain cancer, is demonstrated. The validation of the obtained results with a standard quantitative real‐time polymerase chain reaction method shows the ability of the electrochemical CRISPR‐powered system to be a low‐cost, easily scalable, and target amplification‐free tool for nucleic acid based diagnostics.

Scholars have widely discussed the paradigm of integration of Islam and science. Still, a model of integration of Islam and science that uses the reasoning of Martabat Tujuh seven grades has not been ...found. Therefore, this study sought to investigate the manuscripts of Shaykh Abdussamad al-Palimbani’s Martabat Tujuh in the integration of Islam and science. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach, and data collection techniques were documentation and interviews. This study found two spiritual reasons in the manuscript of Shaykh Abdussamad al-Palimbani’s Martabat Tujuh: tanazzul move down deductive reasoning and taraqqi move up inductive reasoning.Contribution The article contributed to developing the integration of Islam and science in Indonesia. The manuscripts of Martabat Tujuh seven grades by Shaykh Abdussamad al-Palimbani offer the circular motion of Martabat Tujuh as a model for integrating knowledge. The circular motion model of Martabat Tujuh is expected to be used as a theoretical basis for applying knowledge integration at various Islamic universities in Indonesia.

Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan Komunikasi Kebijakan Publik yang dilakukan pihak BNN Kabupaten Batu Bara yaitu dengan menerapkan berbagai pelaksanaan kegiatan sesuai dengan peraturan dan SOP yang telah ditetapkan. Selain itu juga menjalin hubungan baik atau bersinergi dengan berbagai pihak baik dengan pemerintah Kabupaten Batu Bara, Instansi Vertikal, pihak swasta, dan kelompok masyarakat umum lainnya guna kelancaran pelaksanaan Pencegahan Pemberantasan Penyalahgunaan dan Peredaran Gelap narkotika. Sedangkan faktor penghambat pelaksanaan kegiatan penanggulangan peredaran Narkoba ini di karenakan letak wilayah pesisir, faktor lingkungan, dan juga termasuk faktor dari Narkoba itu sendiri. Peran Nilai Agama dan Kearifan Lokal dalam penanggulangan peredaran Narkoba di daerah pesisir sangatlah perlu ditingkatkan, karena dengan mendekatkan diri kepada Tuhan melalui ibadah – ibadah keagamaan, dan juga melakukan aktifitas – aktifitas berkaitan dengan kearifan lokal maka seseorang akan selalu menghabiskan waktu dengan berbagai hal positif ini dan tidak akan ada waktu dan keinginan untuk melakukan penyalahgunaan Narkoba.
The nanobiocatalyst (NBC) is an emerging innovation that synergistically integrates advanced nanotechnology with biotechnology and promises exciting advantages for improving enzyme activity, ...stability, capability and engineering performances in bioprocessing applications. NBCs are fabricated by immobilizing enzymes with functional nanomaterials as enzyme carriers or containers. In this paper, we review the recent developments of novel nanocarriers/nanocontainers with advanced hierarchical porous structures for retaining enzymes, such as nanofibres (NFs), mesoporous nanocarriers and nanocages. Strategies for immobilizing enzymes onto nanocarriers made from polymers, silicas, carbons and metals by physical adsorption, covalent binding, cross-linking or specific ligand spacers are discussed. The resulting NBCs are critically evaluated in terms of their bioprocessing performances. Excellent performances are demonstrated through enhanced NBC catalytic activity and stability due to conformational changes upon immobilization and localized nanoenvironments, and NBC reutilization by assembling magnetic nanoparticles into NBCs to defray the high operational costs associated with enzyme production and nanocarrier synthesis. We also highlight several challenges associated with the NBC-driven bioprocess applications, including the maturation of large-scale nanocarrier synthesis, design and development of bioreactors to accommodate NBCs, and long-term operations of NBCs. We suggest these challenges are to be addressed through joint collaboration of chemists, engineers and material scientists. Finally, we have demonstrated the great potential of NBCs in manufacturing bioprocesses in the near future through successful laboratory trials of NBCs in carbohydrate hydrolysis, biofuel production and biotransformation.
Mass spectrometry (MS)-based targeted lipidomics enables the robust quantification of selected lipids under various biological conditions but comprehensive software tools to support such analyses are ...lacking. Here we present LipidCreator, a software that fully supports targeted lipidomics assay development. LipidCreator offers a comprehensive framework to compute MS/MS fragment masses for over 60 lipid classes. LipidCreator provides all functionalities needed to define fragments, manage stable isotope labeling, optimize collision energy and generate in silico spectral libraries. We validate LipidCreator assays computationally and analytically and prove that it is capable to generate large targeted experiments to analyze blood and to dissect lipid-signaling pathways such as in human platelets.
This paper attempts to analyze the acculturation process of Malays and Toba Batak cultures in Asahan Tanjungbalai, and to what extent the Sultan of Asahan influenced the process of acculturation. ...This study uses descriptive qualitative research method. The findings of this research showed that the process of acculturation Malay and Muslim Toba Batak culture in the city emerged from the government of Tanjungbalai Sultan Asahan I who ruled in the city before the independence era of the Republic of Indonesia. Religious leaders (ulama) and traditional leaders also played a role in the acculturation process of Malay cultural values in Tanjungbalai, especially in the Batak Toba ethnic Muslim milieu. Acculturation between these two cultures gave birth to a Malay culture which led to a different characteristic to the Malay culture in the archipelago. The author affirms that Malays in the city, by nature, tends to be tough in character as a result of Toba Batak ethnic character.
