El estudio se enmarca en el Proyecto Claustrat (El patrimonio material e inmaterial de los conventos de Toledo y su Diócesis) a cargo de un equipo interdisciplinar (historiadores, especialistas en ...arte, arquitectos, juristas, economistas, etc.), reflejo de la densa materia tratada. El patrimonio o bienes culturales de un país constituyen el soporte material de tantos otros principios de su convivencia civilizada. En este acervo se singulariza la aportación de la vida consagrada y las manifestaciones de fe del pueblo. En el Cristianismo, la construcción religiosa tiene su funcionalidad, su simbolismo y vocación propia, pues entre sus muros se desarrolla un estilo de vida orientada a la esperanza que lo alimenta. Cuando hablamos de iglesia, o de oratorio de casa religiosa (edificios sagrados por antonomasia), nos referimos sobre todo a la riqueza histórico-artística y fuerza evocadora que transmiten. El Derecho, en cometido conjunto de la comunidad civil y de fe, ampara la dimensión espiritual que allí alienta y tutela su legado. ¿Pero qué ocurre cuando la funcionalidad y sostenibilidad del patrimonio se tambalea? ¿Cómo las normas eclesiásticas y los Poderes públicos pueden dirigir el proceso de readaptación, sin merma de personas, principios y cosas? Contemplar la experiencia jurídica, ante el deterioro de la vida religiosa y el abandono de los templos católicos, en países como Italia y Francia, nos ayuda a tomar conciencia del problema en España. Esta monografía quiere explicar el Derecho aplicable al recinto sacro en busca de nuevos usos, en defensa de su interés religioso y cultural, pero también buscar soluciones o, como hoy se prefiere, perfilar las “mejores prácticas".El autor, Doctor en Derecho y Licenciado en Ciencias Religiosas, es profesor de Derecho Eclesiástico, en la Universidad de Castilla- La Mancha; ha colaborado en proyectos de investigación sobre religión y Derecho, en las relaciones laborales, o régimen jurídico de los ministros de culto, así como en revistas científicas. Chagas disease, a neglected tropical disease, is now considered a worldwide health concern as a result of migratory movements from Central and South America to other regions that were considered free ...of the disease, and where the epidemiological risk is limited to transplacental transmission or blood or organ donations from infected persons. Parasite detection in chronically ill patients is restricted to serological tests that only determine infection by previous infection and not the presence of the parasite, especially in patients undergoing treatment evaluation or in newborns. We have evaluated the use of nucleic acids from both circulating exovesicles and cell-free DNA (cfDNA) from 50 samples twice randomly selected from a total of 448 serum samples from immunologically diagnosed patients in whom the presence of the parasite was confirmed by nested PCR on amplicons resulting from amplification with kinetoplastid DNA-specific primers 121F-122R. Six samples were randomly selected to quantify the limit of detection by qPCR in serum exovesicles. When the nucleic acids thus purified were assayed as a template and amplified with kinetoplastid DNA and nuclear satellite DNA primers, a 100% positivity rate was obtained for all positive samples assayed with kDNA-specific primers and 96% when SAT primers were used. However, isolation of cfDNA for Trypanosoma cruzi and amplification with SAT also showed 100% positivity. The results demonstrate that serum exovesicles contain DNA of mitochondrial and nuclear origin, which can be considered a mixed population of exovesicles of parasitic origin. The results obtained with serum samples prove that both cfDNA and Exovesicle DNA can be used to confirm parasitaemia in chronically ill patients or in samples where it is necessary to demonstrate the active presence of the parasite. The results confirm for the first time the existence of exovesicles of mitochondrial origin of the parasite in the serum of those affected by Chagas disease.

Presentamos una obra que, a pesar de tratar de un tema bien conocido, el de las comunidades de consagrados, sin embargo, incorpora una dosis importante de originalidad. Esta reside, de un lado, en ...los asuntos tratados, pues se le ha dado prioridad a los menos conocidos o estudiados, por la literatura científico-jurídica española: colegios de sacerdotisas, en la Roma clásica; las comunidades de consagrados en Israel; la sanga o monacato budista, en su regulación y peso social; las órdenes militares, como comunidad de consagrados sui generis, propia de la catolicidad medieval, y, por último, la regulación concordataria de la vida religiosa católica. Sí, este último capítulo pone de manifiesto la otra aportación original del volumen: su enfoque es jurídico-histórico y social.
Aunque se atiende al contexto y vida propia de estas expresiones de libertad religiosa y compromiso espiritual, las aportaciones ponen el acento de su reflexión en la urdimbre jurídica de estas realidades. Se podría pensar que una de las características de las comunidades de consagrados es el alejamiento del mundo y sus afanes, no en vano suelen ampararse en los votos o renuncia a la vida secular, la clausura y la autonomía de su propia organización. Pero, siendo verdad su apartamiento y singularidad, el trabajo revela una fuerte conexión, entre el ambiente que rodea a estas comunidades y su estilo de vida. En este sentido, el componente jurídico es también operativo y puede servir de referente, según los casos, a la sociedad general. Una materia compleja, la de la vida consagrada, a la que un Grupo universitario de investigación ha prestado atención, rescatándolo del descuido, por su riqueza e interés. Texto de la editorial
Introduction
The presence of iron deficiency (ID) in patients with acute heart failure (AHF) is high. There are few studies on the characteristics of these patients and the safety of ferric ...carboxymaltose administration (FCM).
Objective
Study the differences among patients with AHF based on the presence and type of ID as well as the safety of FCM administration in these patients.
Method
The AHF‐ID study is a multicentre, analytical, prospective follow‐up cohort including patients admitted to six Spanish hospitals for AHF. ID was defined as serum ferritin <100 μg/L (group A) or ferritin 100‐299 μg/L with a TSAT <20% (group B). In cases receiving FCM the appearance of adverse events was analysed. Adjusted Cox regression was used to determine the association with 30‐days reattendance for AHF after discharge.
Results
A total of 221 patients were recruited; 191 (86.4%) presented ID, 121 (63.4%) group A and 70 (36.6%) group B. There were scarce differences between the groups analysed. No differences were found in 30‐days reattendance for AHF. FCM was administered to 158 (71.5%) patients, with 8 (5.1%) presenting adverse events, the most frequent being digestive alterations. Treatment was not discontinued in any case.
Conclusions
There are scarce differences between the presence and the type of ID in patients with AHF. The administration of FCM in patients with ID and AHF is safe.
Unprecedented 3D hexa‐adducts of 60fullerene peripherally decorated with twelve tryptophan (Trp) or tyrosine (Tyr) residues have been synthesized. Studies on the antiviral activity of these novel ...compounds against HIV and EV71 reveal that they are much more potent against HIV and equally active against EV71 than the previously described dendrimer prototypes AL‐385 and AL‐463, which possess the same number of Trp/Tyr residues on the periphery but attached to a smaller and more flexible pentaerythritol core. These results demonstrate the relevance of the globular 3D presentation of the peripheral groups (Trp/Tyr) as well as the length of the spacer connecting them to the central core to interact with the viral envelopes, particularly in the case of HIV, and support the hypothesis that 60fullerene can be an alternative and attractive biocompatible carbon‐based scaffold for this type of highly symmetrical dendrimers. In addition, the functionalized fullerenes here described, which display twelve peripheral negatively charged indole moieties on their globular surface, define a new and versatile class of compounds with a promising potential in biomedical applications.
