This article summarizes and reports an empirical study investigating students’ ability in recognizing grammatical errors and producing grammatically correct sentences. Thirty eight university ...students were involved in a set of grammar tasks which were specifically created to measure their ability to both identify errors and avoid them in language productions. The main purpose of the study is to prove whether their ability to pinpoint errors within sentences resembles their ability in producing grammatically correct sentences using the same features. The study also measures the appropriateness of the test items in order to see how it affects students’ performance. Final test data collected from the students in two different groups reveal that their ability to recognize sentence errors has positive correlation to their ability to produce correct sentences. The correlation figure among the more proficient students (group 2) is relatively larger, indicating that the amount of knowledge on relevant features positively influences, to a certain extent, the quality of language production and responses.
Purpose
The potential of waqf is so great in Indonesia but has not been optimized. This paper aims to offer a model for waqf institutions to adopt financial technology for developing productive and ...social waqf. The authors cunduct an assesment of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM3), Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) in seeing to the crowdfunders’ behavior.
Design/methodology/approach
This study adopted a structural equation using the partial least square approach to test the hypotheses. Based on purposive sampling, the spread of questionnaires through online surveys throughout Indonesia consists of all islands. A total of 297 respondents collected the questionnaires.
Findings
Based on the findings, acceptance models have a positive and significant impact on the behavioral intentions of crowdfunders, while Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology have no significant effect.
Research limitations/implications
The sample of this study involved potential crowdfunders from all over the islands in Indonesia, but these results cannot be generalized because of limitations in terms of the sampling technique used. However, the results of this study can be used as an illustration of how crowdfunders behave in donating money using financial technology.
Practical implications
The results of this study provide a comprehensive perspective for policymakers, especially the Indonesian Waqf Board as the waqf authority that regulates waqf nazir to improve quality by adopting crowdfunding financial technology in collecting waqf funds. In addition, in terms of implications for the government, this waqf crowdfunding model will reduce spending and increase economic growth.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this paper is the first in looking at the waqf crowdfunding in Indonesia by looking at two reliable technology determinant models. Studies on cash waqf in Indonesia are many, but they do not look at the issue of crowdfunding, which has gained more attention recently. This paper aims to fill this gap, and this becomes the novelty.
This paper investigates the role of PLS financing and non-PLS financing of Islamic banks in supporting the real sector for the case of Indonesia using monthly data from January 2009 to December 2018. ...Applying the ARDL approach to model their long-run and short-run relations, we find positive contribution of the PLS financing scheme to Indonesia's economic growth. Comparing the PLS and non-PLS financing, we note that the PLS financing has a larger impact on growth, both in the long run and short run. Accordingly, for Islamic finance to have larger growth impact, concrete steps and initiatives must be put in place to increase Islamic financing based on PLS arrangements.

The growth of Islamic finance in Indonesia is expected to encourage the ...development of the national economy. This study aims to investigate the impact of Islamic banking financing and sukuk financing on Indonesia’s industrial output. Applying the Autoregressive Distributed Lags (ARDL) framework to monthly data from January 2011 to December 2018, we find Islamic bank financing to contribute positively to the real sector in both the long and short term. In addition, we also document positive long run contribution of sukuk financing to industrial output . Indeed, over the long run, sukuk financing tends to have a greater real impact than Islamic banking financing. The results of the study implies that Islamic banking and sukuk play a vital role in supporting the real sector in Indonesia. Accordingly, recent initiatives by Indonesia to further develop its Islamic finance are steps in the right direction.

This study examines how negotiation of meaning contributes to second language interaction. The discussion in this study is based on Michael H. Long’s 1996 Interaction Hypothesis suggesting that ...environment contributes to the development of second language acquisition. Long proposes that environmental contributions to acquisition are mediated by selective attention and the learner’s processing capacity during negotiation for meaning. To support this belief, recent empirical studies are also presented in this article. Three negotiation for meaning strategies are discussed in this study to mirror and provide evidence for Long’s proposal, including several excerpts from conversations collected from daily natural conversations and other recorded sources. The strategies include (1) clarification requests, (2) confirmation checks, and (3) comprehension checks. The study has been able to prove that learner’s L2 acquisition takes advantage of environmental contributions mediated by selective attention and the learner’s developing L2 processing capacity brought together during negotiation of meaning.
This research explains that since Indonesia's establishment, Pesantren has demonstrated its ability to adapt to changing educational models as the embryo of the education model. During the transition ...of the educational model, this institution served as a grass-roots institution that provided basic education to people at all levels. Pesantren is competitive in assuring the development of a model of the education system that competes with the numerous models offered by other modern educational institutions. The Pesantren transformation model was examined using qualitative analysis in this study. Concrete data demonstrates that Pesantren as an Islamic institution has matured, with a wide range of options that contribute to the creation of pesantren's basic values as the spirit and culture of Indonesia. The result revealed that Pesantren, an Islamic educational institution, was developed and capable of competing in the face of education transformation needs.
