To determine distribution of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 in hospital wards in Wuhan, China, we tested air and surface samples. Contamination was greater in intensive care units ...than general wards. Virus was widely distributed on floors, computer mice, trash cans, and sickbed handrails and was detected in air ≈4 m from patients.

Responsive photonic crystal is widely considered in the field of anti‐counterfeiting and information encryption because of their structural color changes caused by external stimulation. However, the ...response signal is usually achieved by adjusting the periodic lattice constant based on Bragg's law with volume changes. Thus, it is a great challenge to achieve the response of photonic crystals by non‐array parameter control. Herein, novel thermal responsive photonic crystal (TRPC) with low angle dependent structural color is fabricated by introducing poly(ethylene glycol) into the structure of low angle dependent SnO2 inverse opal. The response is achieved through the control of light path guided by phase transition and the significant volume change caused by the change of traditional array parameters can be effectively avoided. Meanwhile, the low angle dependent structural color of TRPC can effectively reduce the interference of observation angle change to response signal caused by external thermal stimulation. Patterned responsive photonic crystals with temperature gradient response are easily obtained by combining confinement self‐assembly and direct template method, and the patterns can be presented and hidden by the control of light path, showing great potential in anti‐counterfeiting and information encryption fields.

Non‐small‐cell lung cancer (NSCLC), with its aggressive biological behavior, is one of the most diagnosed cancers. Tumor‐associated inflammatory cells play important roles in the interaction between ...chronic inflammation and lung cancer, however the mechanisms involved are far from defined. In the present study, by developing an orthotopic NSCLC mouse model based on chronic inflammation, we proved that an inflammatory microenvironment accelerated the growth of orthotopic xenografts in vivo. Tumor‐associated macrophages, the most abundant population of inflammatory cells, were identified. Treatment with macrophage‐conditioned medium (MCM) promoted the growth and migration of NSCLC cells. Using bioinformatics analysis, we identified downregulated PP2Ac expression in NSCLC cells upon treatment with MCM. We further confirmed that this downregulation was executed in an NF‐κB pathway‐dependent manner. As IκB kinase (IKK) has been proved to be a substrate of PP2Ac, inhibition on PP2Ac could result in amplification of NF‐κB pathway signaling. Overexpression of PP2Ac, or the dominant‐negative forms of IKK or IκB, attenuated the acceleration of growth and metastasis by MCM. Using bioinformatics analysis, we further identified that CXCL1 and COL6A1 could be downstream of NF‐κB/PP2Ac pathway. Luciferase assay and ChIP assay further confirmed the location of response elements on the promoter regions of CXCL1 and COL6A1. Elevated CXCL1 facilitated angiogenesis, whereas upregulated COL6A1 promoted proliferation and migration.

The intelligent code search with natural language queries has become an important researching area in software engineering. In this paper, we propose a novel deep learning framework At-CodeSM for ...source code search. The powerful code encoder in At-CodeSM, which is implemented with an abstract syntax tree parsing algorithm (Tree-LSTM) and token-level encoders, maintains both the lexical and structural features of source code in the process of code vectorizing. Both the representative and discriminative models are implemented with deep neural networks. Our experiments on the CodeSearchNet dataset show that At-CodeSM yields better performance in the task of intelligent code searching than previous approaches.
1,2,3-Thiadiazoles serve as masked S-electrophilic thia-1,3-dipoles. Under rhodium/racemic BINAP catalysis, they undergo denitrogenative (3 + 2) umpolung transannulations with aryl isothiocyanates ...with inverse regioselectivity and excellent stereoselectivity, yielding

Counterfeiting is a growing global issue causing severe negative impacts on the social economy and posing serious security threats to individuals and communities. However, the current ...anticounterfeiting technologies are relatively well known to fakers and lack sufficient security owing to the development and commercialization of high‐resolution equipment. Thus, designing new anticounterfeiting materials and systems is urgently needed. Photonic crystals (PCs) with vivid structural colors are promising materials for advanced security applications because of their unique optical characteristics. In particular, responsive PCs (RPCs), whose optical signals can be readily adjusted by external stimuli, are expected to provide improved security and may be used to determine the authenticity of banknotes, documents, and drugs. In this review, the strategies are summarized for designing RPCs, including filling responsive materials into the interstitial space of periodic photonic structures and using responsive materials as construction blocks of PCs. Subsequently, the latest progress in developing RPCs constructed for optical encryption and information security is discussed in detail. Finally, the challenges and outlook of using RPCs for optical encryption technologies are presented.
Responsive photonic crystals (RPCs) with tunable optical signals and distinctive visual effects for encryption and decryption according to various external stimuli have attracted extensive attention. The construction strategy and latest progress in RPCs for optical encryption and information security by various stimuli such as mechanical strain, solvents, pH value, vapors, temperature, magnetic field, and electric field, are discussed in detail.
Improvement of quality of life has been one of goals in health care for people living with bladder cancer. Meanwhile, positive psycho-social variables in oncology field have increasingly received ...attention. However, the assessment of quality of life of bladder cancer patients and the integrative effects of positive psycho-social variables has limited reporting. The aim of this study was to assess quality of life as well as the integrative effects of social support, hope and resilience on quality of life among Chinese bladder cancer patients.
A cross-sectional study was conducted at the First Hospital of China Medical University in Liaoning Province, China. A total of 365 bladder cancer patients eligible for this study completed questionnaires on demographic variables, FACT-BL, Perceived Social Support Scale, Adult Hope Scale, and Resilience Scale-14 during July 2013 to July 2014.
The average score of FACT-BL was 87.60 ± 16.27 (Mean ± SD). Hierarchical regression analyses indicated that social support, hope and resilience as a whole accounted for 30.3 % variance of quality of life. Under standardized estimate (β) sequence, social support, hope and resilience significantly and positively associated with quality of life, respectively.
Quality of life for bladder cancer patients was at a low level in China, which should receive more attention in Chinese medical institutions. More importantly, efforts to increase social support, hope and resilience might be useful to support the quality of life among Chinese bladder cancer patients.

An efficient aryl to vinyl 1,4‐palladium migration/Heck sequence was developed for the stereoselective synthesis of 1,3‐dienes. High stereoselectivity was observed not only for 1,3‐dienes bearing two ...similar aryl groups at terminal positions, but also for those with configurations shown to be unfavorable with previous methods.

Major depressive disorder (MDD) has been shown to be associated with structural abnormalities in a variety of spatially diverse brain regions. However, the correlation between brain structural ...changes in MDD and gene expression is unclear. Here, we examine the link between brain-wide gene expression and morphometric changes in individuals with MDD, using neuroimaging data from two independent cohorts and a publicly available transcriptomic dataset. Morphometric similarity network (MSN) analysis shows replicable cortical structural differences in individuals with MDD compared to control subjects. Using human brain gene expression data, we observe that the expression of MDD-associated genes spatially correlates with MSN differences. Analysis of cell type-specific signature genes suggests that microglia and neuronal specific transcriptional changes account for most of the observed correlation with MDD-specific MSN differences. Collectively, our findings link molecular and structural changes relevant for MDD.
