The association of different species of endophytic bacteria with the rhizosphere of the host plants can stimulate growth, development and acclimatization, offering a greater quantity of seedlings, in ...addition to reducing the cycle, providing economic return to the producer. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of introduction four bacterial isolates through inoculation into the root system in three banana cultivars (Prata Anã, Grande Naine and BRS Princesa) in the acclimatization phase. The evaluated treatments were: control (nutrient broth without bacteria); Bacillus cereus strain 1 (BC1); Bacillus cereus strain 2 (BC2); Bacillus thuringiensis (BT); Buttiauxella agrestis (BA). The morphological characteristics related to the development of the plants (total height and pseudostem diameter) were evaluated throughout the acclimatization period. After 90 days of transplanting and acclimatization, root length, leaf number, dry root weight, pseudostem and leaf, leaf area, internal carbon concentration, stomatal conductance, photosynthesis rate, transpiration rate, leaf temperature and chlorophyll were evaluated.
The bacteria showed different results in relation to the studied cultivars. Considering the morphological and physiological characteristics observed in this study, B. thuringiensis for the cultivars Prata Anã and Grande Naine and the B. agrestis for the cultivar BRS Princesa are recommended for the process of acclimatization of banana seedlings, as they stimulated growth of the plant, increasing the dry mass, besides promoting the growth of roots. In this way, they improved the physiological aspects of the plants and reduced the period of acclimatization of the banana.

In summary, humic and fulvic acids incorporated in vitro demonstrated the potential to induce the development of salt-tolerant strawberry plants, promoting reinforcement in the defense system, chlorophyll accumulation, and nutrient absorption. These findings suggest a promising approach to address the challenges of salt stress in strawberry plants.

Abstract In vitro flowering is a technique used in genetic improvement that accelerates generations and favors the faster fixation of new traits of agronomic and market interest. The study aimed to ...establish a protocol for the in vitro flowering of Dendrobium nobile, through the combined temperature and of the growth regulator thidiazuron (TDZ) effects. Experiments was performed in a flask that was kept in a BOD incubator at 18, 21, or 24 °C or in a growth room at 26 °C. The TDZ concentrations were 0.0, 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 mg L-1. The highest percentage of flowering shoots of 13.7% occurred at a concentration of 2 mg L-1 of TDZ grown at a temperature of 18 °C. Dendrobium nobile in vitro flowering was promoted in plants cultivated in ½ MS supplemented with 30 g L-1 sucrose, 5.5 g L-1 agar, 100 mL L-1 coconut water, pH 6.0, and 2.0 mg L-1 TDZ at a controlled temperature of 18 °C and a photoperiod of 16 h. The in vitro flowering induction protocol of the D. nobile species could be used or improved for future studies.
Resumo A floração in vitro é uma técnica utilizada no melhoramento genético que acelerar gerações e favorecer a fixação mais rápida de novos caracteres de interesse agronômico e do mercado. O estudo visou estabelecer um protocolo para a floração in vitro de Dendrobium nobile, através dos efeitos combinados de temperatura e do regulador de crescimento thidiazuron (TDZ). Os experimentos foram realizados em incubadora tipo BOD a 18, 21, 24 °C e, em sala de crescimento a 26 °C. As concentrações de TDZ testadas foram de 0,0, 0,5, 1,0 e 2,0 mg L-1. A maior porcentagem de brotos floridos de 13,70% ocorreu na concentração de 2 mg L-1 de TDZ cultivados em temperatura de 18 °C. O florescimento in vitro de D. nobile foi promovido em plantas cultivadas em ½ MS suplementadas com 30 g L-1 de sacarose, 5,5 g L-1 de ágar, 100 mL L-1 de água de coco, pH 6,0 e 2,0 mg L-1 de TDZ em temperatura controlada de 18 °C e fotoperíodo de 16 h. O protocolo de indução de florescimento in vitro da espécie D. nobile poderá ser utilizado ou aprimorado para estudos futuros.
Abstract the aim of this study was to evaluate the chemical characteristics and sensory acceptance of juices and cuts of ‘Bordô’ and ‘Niágara Rosada’ grapes. The experimental design was in a ...one-factor scheme, with five levels. Treatments were: T1 – ‘Bordô’ (100%); T2 – ‘Bordô’ (70%) + ‘Niágara Rosada’ (30%); T3 – ‘Bordô’ (50%) + ‘Niágara Rosada’ (50%); T4 – ‘Bordô’ (30%) + ‘Niágara Rosada’ (70%); T5 – ‘Niágara Rosada’ (100%). Chemical analyses were: content of soluble solids, pH and titratable acidity, and sensory analyses were: color, aroma, flavor, body and global acceptance. For the soluble solids content, the highest averages were verified in T1, T2 and T3 treatments. As for pH, the highest value was recorded in T3, T4 and T5 treatments, while the highest titratable acidity was recorded in T4 and T5 treatments. In the sensory analysis, in juice with the highest percentage of ‘Bordô’ grape (T1 and T2) or with the same proportion of ‘Bordô’ and ‘Niágara Rosada’ (T3), the highest mean acceptance values were found. Thus, it could be concluded that the use of 100% ‘Bordô’ grape and ‘Bordô’ juice cut with up to 50% ‘Niágara Rosada’ are presented as alternatives for juice production.
Resumo o objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar as características químicas e a aceitação sensorial de sucos e cortes de uvas ‘Bordô’ e ‘Niágara Rosada’. O delineamento experimental foi constituído em esquema unifatorial, com cinco níveis. Os tratamentos foram: T1 – ‘Bordô’ (100%); T2 - ‘Bordô’ (70%) + ‘Niágara Rosada’(30%); T3- ‘Bordô’ (50%) + ‘Niágara Rosada’ (50%); T4 - ‘Bordô’ (30%) + ‘Niágara Rosada’ (70%); T5 - ‘Niágara Rosada’ (100%). As análises químicas foram: teor de sólidos solúveis, pH e acidez titulável; e as sensoriais foram: cor, aroma, sabor, corpo e aceitação global. Para os sólidos solúveis as maiores médias foram verificadas nos tratamentos T1, T2 e T3. Quanto ao pH, o maior valor foi registrado nos tratamentos T3,T4 e T5, enquanto no T4 e T5 foi obtida a maior acidez titulável. Na analise sensorial, de modo geral, no suco com maior porcentagem de uva ‘Bordô’ (T1 e T2) ou com a mesma proporção de ‘Bordô’ e ‘Niágara Rosada’ (T3) foram verificadas as maiores médias de aceitação. Assim, conclui-se que o uso de 100% de uva ‘Bordô’ e o corte de suco de ‘Bordô’ com até 50% de ‘Niágara Rosada’ apresentam-se como alternativas para a elaboração de suco.
The objective of the research was to evaluate cytokinin concentrations and agricultural residues as physical structuring agents of the culture medium in the in vitro propagation of highbush blueberry ...(Vaccinium corymbosum 'Duke'). To that end, three different concentrations of 2-isopentenyladenine (2iP) (0, 5, and 10 mg L.sup.-1)in woody plant medium (WPM) and five structuring agents (in natura rice husks, carbonized rice husks, coconut fiber, S-10 BeifortR, and agar)were tested. After 60 days of culture, the following parameters were evaluated: survival (%),sprout and shoot lengths (cm),propagation rate, number of sprouts, and shoot dry mass (g). The substrates used as structuring agents were analyzed in terms of pH and electrical conductivity. The in natura rice husk, S-10 BeifortR, and carbonized rice husk did not differ from the agar in terms of the sprout length. The shoots were longer (1.64 cm) in cultures within natura rice husk than in other treatments. In the absence of 2iP, S-10 BeifortR resulted in the highest propagation rate (2.97). Concerning the number of sprouts, S-10 BeifortR, in natura rice husks, and carbonized rice husks did not differ from agar. However, when the regulator was added, the agar performed better in comparison to the other residues. Thus, in natura rice husks, carbonized rice husks, and S-10 BeifortRare potential physical structuring agents of the culture medium that can be used without 2iP. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar concentracoes de citocinina e residuos agricolas como agentes fisicos de estruturacao do meio na multiplicacao in vitro de mirtileiro (Vaccinium corymbosum) 'Duke'. Para isso, foram testadas tres concentracoes de 2-isopenteniladenina (2iP) (0; 5 e 10 mg L.sup.-1) no meio WPM (Wood Plant Media); e cinco agentes estruturantes (casca de arroz in natura, casca de arroz carbonizada, fibra de coco, S-10 BeifortR e agar). Apos 60 dias foram avaliados: sobrevivencia (%); comprimento de brotacoes e de parte aerea (cm); taxa de multiplicacao; numero de brotacoes e massa seca de parte aerea (g). Analisou-se os substratos utilizados como agentes estruturantes quanto ao pH e condutividade eletrica. A casca de arroz in natura, o S-10 BeifortR, e a casca de arroz carbonizada nao diferiram do agar quanto ao comprimento de brotacoes. Na casca de arroz in natura obteve-se o maior comprimento de parte aerea (1,64 cm), diferindo dos demais tratamentos. Na ausencia de 2iP o S-10 BeifortR apresentou a maior taxa de multiplicacao (2,97). Para o numero de brotacoes o S-10 BeifortR, a casca de arroz in natura e carbonizada nao diferiram do agar. Entretanto, quando acrescido de regulador, o agar apresenta um desempenho maior em relacao aos residuos. Sendo assim, a casca de arroz in natura, a casca de arroz carbonizada, e o S-10 BeifortR apresentam-se como potencias estruturadores fisicos do meio de cultura, podendo ser utilizados sem o uso de 2iP. Abstract Light quality is an important factor for the adequacy of plant production through plant tissue culture, as it directly interferes with morphogenesis and photosynthetic capacity of explants. ...The objective of this study was to analyze the impact of monochromatic lights such as light emitting diode (LED) on the in vitro development of Cattleya walkeriana G. and their effects on acclimatization. The plants were developed in vitro under the colors of green, blue, yellow, red, 2 red:1 blue, and white LED lights. For in vitro cultivation, Knudson medium was used, supplemented with 20 mg L-1 sucrose, 5.5 mg L-1 agar, 2% activated charcoal, 100 mL coconut water, and pH 6.0. For ex vitro cultivation, the plants were acclimatized in styrofoam trays containing sphagnum as a substrate. In general, the supplied light lengths impactedin vitro growth and acclimatization analyses. There was influence on the cuticle thickness of plants in vitro. Chlorophyll and carotenoid contents were not significant. We can conclude that light lengths formed by 2 red:1 blue, red and yellow LEDs can be indicated for better performance in the production of C. walkeriana. The 2 red:1 blue and red LEDs provide superior in vitro development than the others, with gains for the species in acclimatization. The yellow LED provided a possible in vitro hardening, which ensured the greatest success of the seedlings during acclimatization.
Resumo A qualidade luminosa é um fator importante para a adequação da produção de plantas através da cultura de tecidos vegetais, pois interfere diretamente nos processos de morfogênese e na capacidade fotossintéticas dos explantes. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar o impacto de luzes monocromática do tipo diodo emissor de luz (light-emittingdiode - LED) no desenvolvimento in vitro de Cattleya walkeriana G. e os efeitos na fase aclimatização. As plantas foram desenvolvidas in vitro sob as cores de luzes do tipo LED verde, azul, amarelo, vermelho, 2 vermelhos: 1 azul, e branco. Para cultivo in vitro foi utilizado o meio Knudson acrescido de 20 mg L-1 de sacarose, 5,5 mg L-1 de ágar, 2% de carvão ativado, 100 mL de água de coco, e pH 6,0. Para o cultivo ex vitro as plantas foram aclimatizadas em bandejas de isopor contendo esfagno como substrato. De maneira geral, os comprimentos luminosos fornecidos apresentaram impactos nas análises de crescimento in vitro e na de aclimatização. Houve influência na espessura da cutícula das plantas in vitro. Os teores de clorofilas e carotenoides não foram significativos. Podemos concluir, que comprimentos luminosos formados pelos LEDs 2 vermelhos: 1 azul, vermelho e amarelo podem ser indicados para melhor desempenho na produção de C. walkeriana. Os LEDs 2 vermelhos: 1 azul, e o LED vermelho propiciam desenvolvimento in vitro superior ao demais com ganhos na fase de aclimatização para espécie. O LED amarelo propiciou um possível processo de rustificação in vitro o que garantiu o maior sucesso das mudas no período de aclimatização.
O aumento da urbanização tem alterado os serviços ecossistêmicos em áreas urbanas de todo o mundo. A cada ano, problemas de inundações são mais frequentes e a demanda por soluções de drenagem urbana ...de baixo impacto e que agreguem bem-estar as cidades é crescente. A fim de auxiliar os gestores de pequenas cidades no planejamento urbano, este trabalho teve como objetivo aplicar uma metodologia de cálculo simplificada capaz de prever o comportamento do escoamento superficial, após eventos de chuva. Para isso, foi estimado o hidrograma de projeto, através de simulações hidrológicas, de uma bacia de escoamento em bairro na cidade de Lavras (Minas Gerais/Brasil) considerando diferentes configurações de jardins de infiltração. Os resultados obtidos mostram que os jardins de infiltração propostos podem ocupar até 6,9% da área estudada, ou 42% das áreas de caixa de via. Esse aumento na área permeável resulta na redução de até 37% da precipitação efetiva e 41% da vazão de pico do hidrograma de projeto. Há um efeito no aumento do tempo de pico de 9,4% e a duração do escoamento superficial de 7,3%. Concluímos que a metodologia simplificada utilizada consegue demonstrar o impacto dos jardins de infiltração no escoamento superficial da água em uma bacia de escoamento. A presença dos jardins de infiltração amortiza o hidrograma gerado por um evento de precipitação, através da redução da precipitação efetiva.
