This study investigates the mineral composition, particle size distribution and geochemical characteristics of Calcocambisol, colluvium and recent marine lake sediment in a narrow intertidal seashore ...zone of the Veliko Jezero on the Island of Mljet (Croatia). The obtained results show that the fractions of Calcocambisol/colluvium less than 2 mm and 2 µm display similar particle size distribution (PSD) curves compared to marine lake sediments containing larger particles in these fractions. The smallest fractions of the investigated materials that are less than 1 µm show identical PSD curves. The bulk and clay mineral composition of the marine lake sediment show that the non-carbonate fraction is derived from weathering of the surrounding soils and colluvium containing quartz, feldspars and phyllosilicates (illitic material, kaolinites, chlorite, and a mixed-layer clay mineral, MLCM), as well as the authigenic formation of early-diagenetic pyrite, while one part is related to the yield of material by aeolian deposition (amphibole). The observed difference between the phyllosilicate mineral phases in the clay fraction of the Calcocambisol/colluvium and the carbonate-free clay fraction of the marine lake sediment is related to 1) the presence of chlorite in the marine lake sediment and 2) the higher content of MLCM in the Calcocambisol/colluvium. The chlorite in the marine lake sediment was inherited from the Calcocambisol/colluvium as a result of soil erosion prior to its complete destabilization in the soil. High Chemical Index of Alteration (CIA) values in the Calcocambisol and colluvium clearly indicate their intense weathering. Based on the Sm/Nd and Ti/Al ratios, it can be concluded that the aluminosilicates in the Calcocambisol, colluvium and marine lake sediment are of the same provenance. The distribution of each analysed element among the sequential fractions is very similar in both the Calcocambisol and colluvium. The highest concentrations for most of trace elements in the Calcocambisol, colluvium and marine lake sediment was determined in their residual fraction. Mn, Co and Pb show a different partitioning between the Calcocambisol/colluvium and marine lake sediment, respectively.
The articles provides an ethnographic insight into the practices and living experience of women in diplomacy observed from anthropological perspective of transnational practices of migrants. The ...focus of the research and analysis is primarily directed to those transnational practices of women in diplomacy which arise from establishing and maintaining stability in everyday private life on the location of their temporary life abroad. By choosing this specific social group, the intention was to re-direct attention from less privileged to more privileged transnational migrants and provide an ethnographic insight into the similarity of their practices through objects and forms of communication on different locations of everyday life.
Rad predstavlja doprinos raspravama o potrošačkoj kulturi u hrvatskom kontekstu.
The paper aspires to contribute to consumer culture discussions. It focuses on anthropologizing orthodox economic models through the paradigm of identity economics as portrayed in economic theory. The emphasis is on a comparison between the economics definition of identity and anthropological concepts. The conceptual framework of the analysis is based on anthropological structuralism — according to which tastes become a form of social differentiation — and also on the theoretical perspective of the objectification of culture in the global context. Empirical ethnographic material on consumer practices and experiences is examined using qualitative methodology in accordance with the rules of grounded theory. Expressive dimensions of the consumer culture are examined from a diachronic perspective of Croatian society starting from the second half of the twentieth century until today. The scope of this analysis includes the interrelationship between consumer practices with reference to a dominant department store during the socialist era and the same in modern shopping malls. The authors question structuralist principles, arguing in favor of the creative character of the identification processes. In illustrating narrative examples, they demonstrate how consumption can become a matter of subjectivity regardless of the economic transaction being realized or not. Research shows how material objects become symbols of individual identity both for those who use them and those who reject them. Finally, the paper affirms the benefits of a methodological shift in the direction of interdisciplinarity, i.e. the identity–based interpretation of consumer society and the necessity of attributing performative meaning to economic practices.

Abstract
Background
While Croatia shared COVID-19 pandemic with other countries, its capital area was also hit by a 5.6 magnitude earthquake. The simultaneous impact of these two disasters on ...psychiatric patients is largely unknown, and we addressed those knowledge gaps.
Methods
The cross-sectional study was conducted during the pandemic’s first peak, in the aftermath of earthquake, by telephonic survey. Measurements included the Patient Health Questionnaire-9, the Perceived Stress Scale and the semi-structured interview to evaluate the impact of pandemic stress and earthquake. Overall 396 patients with depression and/or anxiety disorders (DAD), 229 participants with schizophrenia spectrum disorders (SSD) and 205 healthy controls were enrolled.
Results
Both patient groups had higher depression and stress levels than controls, independent of sex, age and the presence of somatic comorbidity. After controlling for the same covariates, patient groups had higher COVID-19- and earthquake-related fears than controls. In patients with DAD, both fears were greater than among SSD patients. When comparing the two fears, the fear from earthquake was higher in DAD and control groups, whereas in SSD patients there was no such difference.
Conclusions
Patients with DAD were the most vulnerable group during disasters, while earthquake seems to be associated with more fear than the pandemics, at least in DAD patients and healthy individuals. Future longitudinal studies should determine if early psychological support might alleviate stress levels after disasters and prevent further worsening of mental health, particularly among DAD patients.

Objective
This cross‐sectional study investigated the association of physical and social anhedonia with suicidality in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD), schizophrenia, and in ...non‐psychiatric controls.
Method
All participants completed the revised Physical Anhedonia Scale (RPAS) and the revised Social Anhedonia Scale (RSAS) and were subdivided according to positive life‐time suicide attempt history. MDD patients were evaluated with the Montgomery‐Ãsberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS), healthy respondents with the Patient Health Questionnaire‐9 (PHQ‐9), and schizophrenia patients with the Calgary Depression Scale for Schizophrenia (CDSS).
Results
In 683 study participants, the prevalence of each anhedonia was the highest in MDD, followed by schizophrenia, and lowest in the control group. Among MDD patients, those with physical and social anhedonia had greater rates of recent suicidal ideation, while a higher frequency of individuals with life‐time suicide attempts was detected in those with only social anhedonia. In contrast, no association between either anhedonia and life‐time suicide attempts or recent suicidal ideation was found in patients with schizophrenia.
Conclusions
Assessing social and physical anhedonia might be important in MDD patients, given its association with both life‐time suicide attempts and recent suicidal ideation. Suicidality in schizophrenia, while unrelated to anhedonia, might include other risk factors.
