For many years dissipative quantum maps were widely used as informative models of quantum chaos. In this paper, a new scheme for generating good pseudo-random numbers (PRNG), based on quantum logistic map is proposed. Note that the PRNG merely relies on the equations used in the quantum chaotic map. The algorithm is not complex, which does not impose high requirement on computer hardware and thus computation speed is fast. In order to face the challenge of using the proposed PRNG in quantum cryptography and other practical applications, the proposed PRNG is subjected to statistical tests using well-known test suites such as NIST, DIEHARD, ENT and TestU01. The results of the statistical tests were promising, as the proposed PRNG successfully passed all these tests. Moreover, the degree of non-periodicity of the chaotic sequences of the quantum map is investigated through the Scale index technique. The obtained result shows that, the sequence is more non-periodic. From these results it can be concluded that, the new scheme can generate a high percentage of usable pseudo-random numbers for simulation and other applications in scientific computing.
The northwestern Indian Ocean hosts globally crucial marine biodiversity, which is relatively understudied. There has, however, been significant research and conservation effort focused on marine ...turtles across the region in recent decades. We undertook an exhaustive review of 251 relevant publications to extract and collate the current information concerning marine turtles. To ensure completeness, we received input on a preliminary draft from a large group of experts who have worked extensively in the region. Data presented here are from all 13 countries with significant coastlines in the region (Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen) on occurrence, nesting biology, morphology, foraging areas, population status, threats, and relevant national legislation and international conservation strategies. The experts independently provided details on what they felt were the (1) most significant threats to marine turtles, (2) most critical knowledge gaps for marine turtle ecology, (3) impediments to practical conservation, and (4) essential strengths and opportunities in the region.
Objectives: The objective of this study is to assess the current status of urologic robot-assisted surgery (RAS) in Saudi Arabia and evaluate perceptions of its importance and utility.
Methods: A ...59-item questionnaire was E-mailed to urologists and trainees in Saudi Arabia to assess the demographics and individual and institutional surgical practices of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) with a focus on RAS and urologic subtypes.
Results: Ninety-five surveys were completed. Nearly 53%, 46%, and 21% of respondents were formally trained in laparoscopic surgery, MIS, and RAS, respectively. Forty percent had used a robot console during training. Nearly 72% of participants felt that RAS training should be included to accomplish their career goals and stated that it would strengthen the department academically and financially. The absence of a robotic system (45%) and administrative disinterest with lack of support (39%) were the most common deterrents. Robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP), robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC), and robot-assisted radical nephrectomy (RARN) were regarded as the gold standard for 34%, 23%, and 17% of respondents, respectively. Respondents would recommend RARP (74%), RARC (50%), and RARN (57%) for themselves or their family. The greatest perceived benefits of RAS were its ease of use and improvement in the patient's quality of life.
Conclusion: Urologists in Saudi Arabia recognize the superiority of RAS over traditional surgical methods but lack exposure, training, and access to RAS. This survey reveals increasing acceptance of RAS and willingness to incorporate the technology into practice.
In Saudi Arabia, local interpretations of Islamic laws and social norms have a negative impact on the health and well-being of women. The objective of this literature review was to discuss gender ...inequity in Saudi Arabia and its relation to public health. Despite the scarcity of recent statistics and information regarding gender inequity in Saudi Arabia, this review is an attempt to explore this sensitive issue in this country. Women's roles and rights in Saudi society were examined, including education, marriage, polygamy, fertility, job opportunities, car driving and identification cards. Further research to assess knowledge, attitudes and practices towards health care of Saudi men and women is recommended.
The safe operation of a reactor is based on feedback models. In this paper we attempted to discuss the influence of a non-uniform radial temperature distribution on the fuel rod temperature ...coefficient of reactivity. The paper demonstrates that the neutron properties of a reactor core is based on effective temperature of the fuel to obtain the correct fuel temperature feedback. The value of volume-averaged temperature being used in the calculations of neutron physics with feedbacks would result in underestimating the probable event. In the calculation it is necessary to use the effective temperature of the fuel in order to provide correct accounting of the fuel temperature feedback. Fuel temperature changes in different zones of the core and consequently reactivity coefficient change are an important parameter for analysis of transient conditions. The restricting factor that compensates the inserted reactivity is the temperature reactivity coefficient and effective delayed neutron fraction.

MLE) theory is applied to the helicoidal ...Peyrard–Bishop (hPB) model. Applying mean Lyapunov exponent theory introduced by Shibata H. Shibata, Physica A 264 (1999) 226 on the model shows that, the system is very sensitive to the potential parameters. By analyzing the behavior of the MLE with respect to the harmonic helicoidal coupling (
K), it can be found that, it is not possible to set the Morse potential parameters of the hPB model in good qualitative agreement with other experimental and theoretical studies. Furthermore, the results show that the
MLE is independent of length of the DNA chain. This achievement is important since it can be used to overcome the computational difficulties.

The principles of health, safety and environment (HSE) in different development activities, including construction, are constantly gaining in significance. This study aims to evaluate the condition ...of HSE management and safety climate in construction sites. In this descriptive-analytic study, 111 male employees are randomly selected. To determine HSE condition and management and safety climate condition, the NOSACQ questionnaire was used. The collected data are analyzed using SPSS. Based on data analysis a significant relationship between the mean scores of safety climate, job groups and HSE management system with job groups, education and experience (P<0.05) was found. The study results show that HSE management and safety climate in sites are relatively acceptable, that the perception of safety had no special association with age, work experience, education and that the creation of a safety climate depends on the people high in the hierarchy.
The selection of the potential parameters is a very difficult question because the potentials entering the model are effective potentials. In this Letter, an approach for selecting potential ...parameters of the Peyrard–Bishop model by mean Lyapunov exponent is presented. Using the theory introduced by Shibata H. Shibata, Physica A 264 (1999) 226 on the Peyrard–Bishop model shows that, the system is very sensitive to the parameters selection. The obtained results demonstrate that the best range for parameters are where the mean Lyapunov exponent has low values. Furthermore, there is a good correspondence between our results and other reports.
The dynamic analysis is carried out of a laminated composite plate coupled with a piezoelectric energy harvester under the action of a moving vehicle. The finite element method along with Newmark's ...method are applied to solve the discretized equations. Results are presented for two main cases: (i) free and forced vibrations of the laminated composite plate with no harvester and (ii) forced vibrations of the plate coupled with the energy harvester. Several parameters - such as the symmetric and anti-symmetric layups, length of the harvester, and piezoelectric material parameters - are considered to study their effects on the electrical output.
