Objectives
Anti‐reflux mucosectomy (ARMS) is an emerging and promising endoscopic treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). In the current study we aimed to evaluate the safety and ...efficacy of ARMS in treating Chinese GERD patients.
Methods
This was a single‐center prospective cohort study. ARMS was performed in GERD patients by an experienced endoscopist. The patients were required to undergo symptom assessment as well as endoscopic examination, high‐resolution manometry (HRM), and impedance‐pH monitoring before and after ARMS.
Results
Twelve patients were enrolled. Follow‐up was completed by all patients at 3 and 6 months, 11 patients at 1 year, and 8 patients at 2 years after ARMS, respectively. Symptom improvement was achieved in 66.7%, 75.0%, 72.7%, and 50.0% of the patients at 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years after ARMS, respectively. Postoperative dysphagia was reported by 25.0%, 25.0%, 27.3%, and 25.0% of patients at 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years after surgery, none of whom required additional invasive treatment. All patients with preoperative esophagitis healed after ARMS. For impedance‐pH monitoring parameters, number of acidic reflux episodes and the proportion of patients with acid exposure time (AET) >4.0% decreased significantly after ARMS.
Conclusions
ARMS was safe and effective in Chinese GERD patients. The efficacy of ARMS was not short‐term and remained evident throughout the 2‐year follow‐up. Further multicenter studies with larger sample sizes are needed to verify our findings.
A total of 12 patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) were enrolled. The proportion of patients having symptom improvement at 2 years after anti‐reflux mucosectomy (ARMS) was 50.0%. Postoperative dysphagia was reported by 25.0% of patients at 2 years after surgery. Half the patients were able to discontinue proton pump inhibitor (PPI)/potassium competitive acid blocker (P‐CAB) completely, while 75.0% of patients were able to discontinue PPI/P‐CAB by ≥50% at 2 years after surgery. The proportion of patients with acid exposure time (AET) >4.0% decreased significantly after surgery.
To clarify the photosynthetic mechanism contributing to the enhancement of intercropping advantages through co-ridge intercropping of maize and peanut, we conducted a field randomized block ...experiment under two phosphorus levels of 0(P0) and 180 kg P2O5·hm-2(P180) with flat intercropping of maize and peanut (FIC) as the control. We analyzed the effects of co-ridge intercropping of maize and peanut (RIC) and groove-ridge intercropping of maize and peanut (GIC) on crop leaf area index (LAI), SPAD values, CO2 carboxylation ability, photosystems coordination (ΦPSⅠ/PSⅡ), and intercropping advantage of yield. Nanotube aggregates with high porosity were prepared from hydrothermal treatment of TiO2 particles in NaOH at 130 deg C, followed by HCl rinsing to different pH values. Pore structure of the ...aggregates, which were mainly mesoporous, was characterized by analyzing the N2 sorption isotherm with different methods including the t-plot and density function theory. The surface area, pore volume and mean pore size of the aggregates increased with the rinsing acidity to reach a maximum (e.g. 400 m2/g in surface area) at pH 1.6 and then decreased with further increase of the acidity. The crystalline phase and composition of the aggregates were, as well, significantly affected by the acidity of the post-treatment rinsing. Large-surface area aggregates were of loosely-attached nanotubes, composed of both anatase TiO2 and H2Ti2O5H2O, obtained under a mildly acidic rinsing condition, while basic or highly acidic conditions resulted in the formation of closely coagulated dense structures consisting of different crystalline phases.
In this paper, the surface of carbon fiber (CF) was firstly modified by carbon nanotubes (CNTs) sizing agent, then the CF reinforced polypropylene (PP) composite was prepared by extrusion-injection ...process. The tensile and flexural properties of CF/PP were tested. CF-5CNTs/PP had the best mechanical properties. The microstructure of CF and CF/PP was characterized by SEM. The effect of the CNTs on the mechanical properties of CF/PP was discussed in detail.
Different p-type Cu
2O powders were prepared from electrodeposition and subjected to analysis of their photocatalytic activity in water reduction. The electrodeposited Cu
2O powders were obtained by ...scraping the deposited films off the substrate. Under illumination the Cu
2O powders alone were not able to catalyze H
2 generation from water reduction. However, these Cu
2O powders exhibited photocatalytic activity in H
2 generation when they were coupled with n-type WO
3 in suspensions. The coupling was made to avoid back reactions of the photo-induced charges. The electrodeposited Cu
2O powders showed higher photocatalytic activity than a commercially available Cu
2O powder. The suspension containing electrodeposited Cu
