Extensive research has been carried out with regard to the composition of the
exhaust gases of Diesel engines in operation with biodiesel in relation to
the operation with the conventional diesel ...fuel. Producing biodiesel from
different raw materials and different technological biodiesel production
processes can result in different individual physical and chemical
characteristics of fuel. Generally, it can be said that the use of biodiesel
(and mixtures) reduces the overall toxicity of the exhaust gases in relation
to the operation of the engine with diesel fuel, and this is a significant
environmental potential of biodiesel as a fuel for Diesel engines. However,
there is a diversity of research results, due to different factors. The
paper reviews and summarizes the relevant literature on the mentioned
research that can contribute to the explanation of these effects. It also
points to the need for a very careful selection of biodiesel for use as a
Diesel engine fuel.

Introduction. The exact prevalence of benign familial neonatal epilepsy (BFNE) is unknown due to the likelihood of overlooking the disease and not diagnosing the affected patients correctly. The rare ...autosomal dominant inherited disorder usually occurs within a few days after birth of an otherwise healthy newborn, and disappears after one to four months. Most patients develop no psychomotor deficiencies, nor any other forms of seizures. The disorder is most commonly linked to the KCNQ2 gene, with mutations located on the chromosome 20q13.33 which cause voltage-gated potassium channel changes. This clinically rare condition manifests itself in repeated tonic-clonic episodes of focal and generalized convulsions which are effectively treated with antiepileptic therapy. Case report. We presented a five-day old affected male infant, with genetically proven KCNQ2 gene mutation, in addition to a positive familial history of epilepsy. Seizures did not reoccur after several episodes in the fifth day of life and further psychomotor development of the child proved normal. Conclusion. Neonatal seizures have extensive differential diagnosis. However, BFNE should be suspected when the most common neonatal seizure causes have been excluded, and factors, such as the hereditary factor, in addition to the typical clinical course resembling BFNE, can be observed. Genetic identification of BFNE has resulted in easier and more specific diagnosis of this rare disorder and is therefore the gold standard in its diagnostics.

The paper presents a numerical simulation of two-phase turbulent flow in
straight horizontal channels of pneumatic transport with non-circular
cross-section. For the granular flow simulation, we have ...chosen the flow of
solid particles of quartz, flour, and ash in the flow of air, which is
transporting fluid. During the modeling of the flow, the transported solid
particles are reduced to spherical shapes. A correction of the stress model
of turbulence is performed by taking into account the influences of the
induction of secondary flows of the second order in the gas phase. The full
Reynolds stress model was used for modeling the turbulence, and the
complete model is used for the turbulent stresses and turbulent temperature
fluxes. All numerical experiments were conducted for the same initial flow
conditions and a single uniform grid was adopted for all numerical
experiments. The flow is observed in a straight channel of a square
cross-section and dimensions of sides of 200 mm and the length of 80 Dh.
During the simulation, the fineness of the numerical grid was also tested,
and the paper shows results of the numerical grid of the highest resolution
beyond which the fineness does not influence the obtained results. The paper
offers graphics of velocities of the solid particles transported by the
transporting fluid (air) along the channel.

We compared serological and clinical presentation of 38 adults (5 males, 33 females) and 37 children (15 boys, 22 girls) with anti-endomysial antibodies (AEA).AEA, antinuclear (ANA), anti-parietal ...(APA), anti-thyroid microsomal (ATMA), anti-thyreoglobulin (ATGA), anti-smooth muscle (SMA) and anti-mitochondrial (AMA) antibodies were detected by IIF. Anti-tissue transglutaminase (tTG), anti-extractable nuclear antigens (ENA) and anti-actin (AAA) antibodies were studied by ELISA. There were no differences in frequency of ANA, APA, ATGA, SMA, AMA and AAA in children and adults. ATMA (p < 0.001) and anti-ENA (p < 0.05) positivity were more frequently found in adults. Anti-Ro/SSA had 7/38 adults and 1/37 children (p < 0.05). Adults had more frequently silent form of celiac disease associated with autoimmune diseases (p < 0.001). We are the first to demonstrate that in spite of no difference in ANA positivity in adults and children, ANA in adults more frequently target ENA, especially Ro/SSA antigen. The reason for this ANA specificity could be the longer gluten exposure in adults.
A stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) is a great concern for laser fusion, causing an energy and symmetry loss and target preheating. In particular, for dominating backward- SRS (BRS), a complexity of ...nonlinear saturation was revealed. Recently, to develop lasers at multi-exawatts and beyond, relevant to high-energy physics, a proposed Raman amplification based on BRS met a restrictive operation window. Here, we stress BRS generics that due to a nonlinear frequency shift (relativistic trapping effect), it nonlinearly saturates with intermittent pulsations. A "break up" of Manley-Rowe invariants explains a non-steady saturation. Further, a coherent pulsation BRS regime is proposed for femto-sec pulse generation in a thin exploding foil plasma, with parameter scalings investigated by analytics and particle simulations.
The paper considers two-phase gas-solid turbulent flow of pneumatic transport
in straight horizontal channels with a non-circular cross-section. During
turbulent flow, a specific flow phenomenon, ...known as secondary flow, occurs
in these channels in the cross-sectional plane. The existence of strong
temperature gradients in the cross-sectional plane of the channel or the
cases of curved channels result in the appearance of the secondary flow of
the first kind. However, in straight channels with a non-circular
cross-section, in the developed turbulent flow mode, a secondary flow, known
as Prandtl?s secondary flow of the second kind, is induced. The paper
presents a numerical simulation of a developed two-phase turbulent flow by
using the PHOENICS 3.3.1 software package. Reynolds stress model was used to
model the turbulence. The paper provides the data on the changes in turbulent
stresses in the channel cross-section as well as the velocities of solid
particles transported along the channel.

Originally believed to be of histiocytic origin, regressing primary cutaneous anaplastic large-cell lymphoma is a CD30 (Ki 1) positive T-cell lymphoma with histologic high grade malignancy, but with ...an often favorable clinical course with regression of individual lesions. We present a case of a 69-year-old white woman with an 8-month history of noduloulcerative lesions on her right lower leg, otherwise in good general health. The clinical, histologic, and immunohistochemical findings pointed to CD30 positive primary cutaneous anaplastic large-cell lymphoma. There were no signs of generalization, lymph node or internal organ involvement. After 2 years of activity, the disease regressed. During the 10-year follow-up period, no signs of disease reactivation were noted. Accurate recognition of this lymphoma is important to avoid unnecessary aggressive treatments.
We present the first reported case of toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) caused by morbilli-parotitis-rubella (MPR) vaccine. A 13-year-old girl developed TEN 7 days after she received live, attenuated, ...triple MPR vaccine. The history of drug intake and any illness was negative. At admission the patient was acutely ill with high fever. The whole body was erythematous. The epidermis was wrinkled and the Nikolsky sign was positive. Numerous erosions were present on the lips and genital region. On the seventh day of illness, the eruption involved 80% of the skin. Systemic corticosteroid therapy was not employed. The skin and mucosal defects completely epithelized by the end of the third week of illness. Mild keratoconjunctivitis sicca remained because of permanent cup cell damage.
: Acanthosis nigricans (AN) is a disorder often accompanied by internal malignancy in adult patients, but in children it is usually benign. Generalized forms of AN, especially in childhood, are ...extremely rare. We report a 5‐year‐old boy with a 3‐year history of AN who had generalized roughness and hyperpigmentation, numerous skin wrinkles, disseminated skin tags, tripe palms, and intensive pruritus. No clinical evidence of internal disorders, notably of an endocrinologic or neoplastic nature, have been detected thus far.
