Der zeitliche Rahmen, in dem sich die Untersuchungen bewegen, erstreckt sich vom Mittelalter bis zu Fragen des aktuellen Sprachgeschehens. Räumlich spannen die Arbeiten einen Bogen, der sich von Italien über Frankreich auf die Iberische Halbinsel zieht. Darüber hinaus werden Verbindungen mit dem Orient und Sprachkontakte in der Neuen Romania miteinbezogen.

This volume of collected articles issued to mark the 75th birthday of Gustav Ineichen assembles contributions from pupils, colleagues, and friends from a variety of disciplines on the subject of ...language contacts in Romance cultures. The studies range from the Middle Ages to developments taking place at present. Geographically, they extend from Italy and France to the Iberian peninsula. Some attention is also given to links with the Orient and language contacts in Romance cultures outside Europe.

attached, whereas Italian, for example, does not. In the last decades, ...the thesis of berberised Arabic has been favoured, although it remains unclear how it worked. This article will determine the underlying linguistic mechanism for agglutination which finds a parallel in the way Berber languages treated Arabisms, with or without Arabic loanwords in Ibero-Romance necessarily depending on Berber influence.
