The aim of this article is to make a bibliometric analysis of graduate studies on the subject of "post-truth", which has gained an important place in the literature in recent years. In this direction, the postgraduate studies in the Council of Higher Education (CHE) Thesis Centre were subjected to analysis. Bibliometric analysis offers a different approach in determining the change in the studies on post-truth as well as in developing new studies on the subject. In this context, 58 postgraduate theses were reached as a result of the search with the concept of "post-truth". The bibliometric characteristics such as year, language, university, institutes, departments, supervisor titles, academic levels, page ranges, keywords, research, data collection, data analysis and sampling methods used, and the presence of hypothesis were analysed. The studies obtained were subjected to content analysis with the "MAXQDA Analytics Pro 2022" package developed for qualitative and mixed methods. The first of the thesis studies, 16 of which were presented as doctoral, 41 as master's and 1 as proficiency in art thesis, were presented in 2018. Post-truth has mostly been the subject of theses in communication fields such as public relations, advertising, television and social media. In addition, it was also found that the documents obtained from media texts were analysed with discourse and content analysis techniques in the thesis studies examined.
The importance of big data analytics has become apparent with the increasing volume of data on the Internet. The amount of data will increase even more with the widespread use of Internet of Things ...(IoT). One of the most important application areas of the IoT is healthcare. This study introduces new real‐time data analytics architecture for an IoT‐based smart healthcare system, which consists of a wireless sensor network and a radio‐frequency identification technology in a vertical domain. The proposed platform also includes high‐performance data analytics tools, such as Kafka, Spark, MongoDB, and NodeJS, in a horizontal domain. To investigate the performance of the system developed, a diagnosis of Wolff–Parkinson–White syndrome by logistic regression is discussed. The results show that the proposed IoT data analytics system can successfully process health data in real‐time with an accuracy rate of 95% and it can handle large volumes of data. The developed system also communicates with a riverbed modeler using Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) to model any IoT‐enabling technology. Therefore, the proposed architecture can be used as a time‐saving experimental environment for any IoT‐based system.
Abstract Five dry beans (Kınalı, Alberto, Great, Göynük and Özmen) were selected for high calcareous soils tolerance and used as parents in a full diallel method in 2019. F1 and its parents were ...grown in the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture of Selcuk University with high lime content in 2020 with three replications. Variations for seed yield and its component maintenance were detected between parents and F hybrids grown on high calcareous soils, and some crosses were found to outperform their parents. Significant general combination ability (GCA) and special combination ability (SCA) were observed for seed yield per plant and components including plant height, pods per plant, seeds per pod, seeds per plant, hundred seed weight, protein ratio and protein yield per plant. While non-additive gene effects were effective in plant height, pod height, number of seeds per pod, seed yield per plant, protein ratio, and protein yield per plant, it was determined that additive gene effects were effective in other investigated traits. Garrafol was had the highest GCA for seed yield. The “Alberto x Kınalı”, “Özmen x G Northern 59”, “G Northern 59 x Özmen”, Özmen x Kınalı”, “Kınalı x Alberto” and “Göynük x Kınalı” crosses exhibited high SCA effects for seed yield per plant. These hybrids are the most promising combination, and it is appropriate to carry out selection processes by evaluating seed yield and yield components together in future generations.
Tree-like architectures and branching structures are one of the analogical designs that are among the nature inspired structures arousing attention of the designers, inspiring them and that are ...frequently confronted throughout the history of architecture. Likewise, trees are structural models for designers beyond the plant and branching patterns that are used as architectural ornamentation. Trees have the characteristics of being mentors for architects and engineers concerning how the vertical and the horizontal loads are transmitted through the trunks, branches, and leaves and how the balance is provided. Within this context, it is possible to claim that a quite wide and intuitively developed structural knowledge is acquired with the tree analogies throughout the history of architecture. By the development of computational design technologies, there have been significant developments in the design and the building of tree-like structures. Especially the number of branching, angles of dendroids, lengths, and the other parameters can be defined by using algorithms and can be optimized also by the help of computational tools. In this paper, the historical development and classification of the tree-like structures have been carried out and Frei Otto who is the pioneer to pave the way for innovative structures related to this field has been selected to revisit the efficiency of lightweight columns inspired by nature. One of the experimental studies of Otto in which he called as “minimum path system” has been determined as the case study; the parametric design behind the structure has been analyzed and reproduced by using a parametric software. The structural effectiveness has been determined and discussed by testing the obtained models using a FEM program under horizontal and vertical loads. Consequently, the structural effectiveness of today’s computational technologies and the branching structures that Otto built intuitively and by natural analogies have been able to be tested and the possible potentials that can be leading for today’s architects have been demonstrated.
Objective: It is known that in the digital age we live in, people try to get information on many medical issues through Internet searches. Especially as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic triggering ...mental problems and health professionals' stay-at-home warnings, it has become difficult for individuals to receive psychiatric help, and this has encouraged accessing information about mental problems and their treatments through Internet searches. In this context, infodemiologic research, especially with Google Trends (GT; Google LLC, Mountain View, California, United States), has become very popular in recent years. In our study, it was aimed to examine the interest in frequently used antidepressants and the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on Internet searches. Methods: Search densities for five antidepressant drugs (sertraline, fluoxetine, citalopram, venlafaxine, duloxetine) that are frequently used around the world were examined on GT on 24/07/2023, and these searches were compared. Searches made within the last five years (24/07/2018-24/07/2023) were included in this study. Images were obtained using GT and Microsoft Excel 2019 (Microsoft Corporation, Redmond, Washington), and appropriate statistical analyses were performed with the SPSS Statistics version 22 (IBM Corp. Released 2013. IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows, Version 22.0. Armonk, NY: IBM Corp.). Results: Sertraline was the most sought-after antidepressant before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic in the world. The searches related to sertraline increased gradually during the pandemic period, and this increase continued in the post-pandemic period. Other antidepressants whose search for it increased with the pandemic are fluoxetine, duloxetine, and venlafaxine. Searches for citalopram decreased during the pandemic process compared to the pre-pandemic period. Conclusion: According to worldwide Internet searches, the prominence of some antidepressant group drugs during the pandemic period may be a reflection of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health. Additionally, GT can provide psychiatrists with valuable insights into which depression medications are gaining popularity with the general public over time.
The excessive intake of fructose in the regular human diet could be related to global increases in metabolic disorders. Sugar-sweetened soft drinks, mostly consumed by children, adolescents, and ...young adults, are the main source of added fructose. Dietary high-fructose can increase intestinal permeability and circulatory endotoxin by changing the gut barrier function and microbial composition. Excess fructose transports to the liver and then triggers inflammation as well as de novo lipogenesis leading to hepatic steatosis. Fructose also induces fat deposition in adipose tissue by stimulating the expression of lipogenic genes, thus causing abdominal adiposity. Activation of the inflammatory pathway by fructose in target tissues is thought to contribute to the suppression of the insulin signaling pathway producing systemic insulin resistance. Moreover, there is some evidence that high intake of fructose negatively affects both male and female reproductive systems and may lead to infertility. This review addresses dietary high-fructose-induced deteriorations that are obvious, especially in gut permeability, microbiota, abdominal fat accumulation, insulin signaling, and reproductive function. The recognition of the detrimental effects of fructose and the development of relevant new public health policies are necessary in order to prevent diet-related metabolic disorders.

BACKGROUNDThe aims of this study were to develop a mobile mental health application (app) to scan the symptoms of anxiety, depression, and related factors during pregnancy; examine the effect of the ...app on pregnant women; and determine the factors related to using such an app.METHODSA software platform called Perinatal Anxiety Depression Monitoring Platform (PADIP) was developed. This study included 320 pregnant women: 160 in the PADIP group and 160 in the control group. The PADIP group was screened monthly for 3 months for depression, anxiety, and sleep quality, and instant feedback was provided on scale scores.RESULTSDuring the follow-up period, there was a significant decrease in depression and anxiety scale scores in the PADIP group but no significant difference in scale scores in the control group. The interface used for the app was important for scale scores. It was preferred by pregnant women with a high education level, higher Perinatal Anxiety Screening Scale scores, and lower sleep quality scores.CONCLUSIONSPADIP use was associated with a decrease in depression and anxiety scores of pregnant women. It was more useful for patients with higher education levels and a history of a psychiatric disorder, but further research is needed to develop a more comprehensive model.

The bones of the skull are held together by fibrous joints called sutures. Premature fusion of these sutures leads to a pathologic condition called as craniosynostosis. Although at least 50 nuclear ...genes including FGFR2, TWIST1, TCF12, and SMAD6 were identified as causative of craniosynostosis; only 25% of the patients can be genetically diagnosed. Here, we report a 3‐year‐old Turkish Caucasian boy with sagittal craniosynostosis with a de novo loss‐of‐function mutation in exon 4 of the AXIN2 gene for the first time. The patient has frontal bossing, high anterior hair line, depressed nasal bridge, bilateral epicanthus and low set ears which are correlated with his scaphocephaly. As a negative regulator of the Wnt signaling pathway which is one of the key modulators of craniosynostosis syndrome, it has been shown in model organisms that Axin2 orchestrates the regulation of beta‐catenin especially in the intramembranous ossification process. This clinical report adds value to the literature that AXIN2 gene mutations could be a potential cause in human calvarial malformations, especially for the sagittal synostosis.
Undiagnosed prenatal anxiety and depression have the potential to worsen and have an adverse effect on both the mother and the infant. Although the diagnosis is made by specialist doctors, it is ...unclear which parameters are more effective. Especially in medicine, it is crucial to diagnose disease with high accuracy. For this reason, in this study, a questionnaire study was first conducted on pregnant women, and real original data were collected. Then, the Marine Predators Algorithm (MPA), one of the current metaheuristic algorithms inspired by nature, was combined with K-Nearest Neighbors (kNN) to determine high-priority features in the collected data. As a result, five of the 147 features selected by the proposed method were determined as high priority and approved by the doctors. In addition, the proposed method is compared with the Chi-square method, which is one of the filter-based feature selection methods. Thanks to the proposed feature selection method based on MPA and kNN, it has been observed that the classification gives more successful results in a shorter time with 98.11% success, and the model supports the diagnosis stage of the doctors.
•Real patient data for diagnosis of anxiety and depression in perinatal period.•Feature selection for high-dimensional data.•Improved accuracy with MPA+kNN hybrid method.•Outperforming alternative methods.•Clinical relevance for healthcare professionals.
Craniosynostosis consists of premature fusion of one or more cranial sutures and can be seen as part of a syndrome or diagnosed as nonsyndromic (isolated). Although more than 180 craniosynostosis ...syndromes have been identified, 70% of the cases are diagnosed as nonsyndromic. On the other hand, genetic causes of the cases are mostly unknown and the overall frequency of the genetic diagnosis is around 25%. In this study, we used targeted Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) analysis to identify the genetic variations of two craniosynostosis cases. We have identified two different truncating mutations, a known NM_207036.1:c.778_779delAT;p.(Met260Valfs*5) and a novel NM_207036.1:c.1102_1108delTCACCTC;p.(Pro369Glnfs*26) TCF12 variants. Additionally, upon physical examination of these two cases, we have observed some shared clinical similarities as well as differences such as bilateral simian crease and hidden cleft palate. This is the first study that reports the TCF12 mutations in Turkish patients with coronal suture synostosis.
