Smart tourism has contributed to making people’s travels easier and more enjoyable, but sometimes has a negative impact on their travel experience. The challenges travelers face while using smart ...devices have not been researched in detail and are relatively unknown. While most studies have considered the usefulness of smart devices in tourism, negative perceptions of smart tourism have rarely been discussed. Thus, this study investigates travelers’ risk perceptions of smart tourism from a technology readiness perspective. It examines the impact of optimism, innovativeness, insecurity, and discomfort on travelers’ usage intentions of smart devices through their perceived risks and benefits. To test the proposed model and corresponding hypotheses, a partial least squares analysis was performed on data collected from 250 survey respondents. The results showed that the perceived benefits of smart devices had a significant effect on usage intentions of smart devices while traveling. It was also confirmed that the influence of perceived risks depends on the characteristics of travelers. This study is significant as it is the first empirical study applying the TRI (Technology Readiness Index) model that examines the negative effects of smart devices on tourists during travel. The results of this study provide meaningful insights into smart tourism to companies and governments.
This study explores the relationship between individuals' demographic characteristics and information privacy concerns (IPC) using panel data from the Korea Information Society Development Institute ...(KISDI) that has collected a large sample from 7809 respondents. Its goal is to address the gaps in existing information privacy literature that focuses mainly on behavioral determinants of IPC and thus has not paid much attention to the direct examination of the relationship between demographic characteristics of individuals and IPC. A few relevant studies that focus on such a relationship have produced inconsistent results. In our study, we found that while the effects of educational attainment, income level, and marriage are in line with existing studies, the effects of gender and age are at odds with existing studies. The main contribution of this study is to confirm the results of previous studies with a large sample and enables the generalization of empirical findings. In addition, the results that are in contrast to the literature can generate new research avenue.

The purpose of this study was ...to investigate how certain leisure activities are associated with life satisfaction, anxiety, loneliness, happiness, and positive and negative affect.
In this study, we used the 2020 Health and Retirement Study Core Early data and conducted a hierarchical regression analysis to investigate the different effects of the 3 types of leisure activities on the mental health of older adults with MCI (N=901).
We found that leisure-time physical activity was the strongest predictor of enhanced life satisfaction, positive affect, and happiness, and reduced anxiety and loneliness. In addition, sedentary leisure was associated with reduced anxiety and loneliness and increased happiness.
These findings suggest that engagement in leisure-time physical activity and sedentary leisure can be instrumental in promoting the life satisfaction and mental health of older adults with mild cognitive impairment.
In this paper, we propose a novel hybrid beamforming design algorithm in multi-user massive multiple-input-multiple-output millimeter-wave channels. In the proposed structure, we employ variable ...radio frequency attenuators at each phase shifter which flexibly controls the transmit signal amplitude to achieve the performance of fully digital (FD) precoders. We formulate a power loss minimization problem which can be easily solved via the alternating optimization process. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed architecture achieves the same performance as the FD scheme with the reduced number of radio frequency chains and the proposed scheme exhibits a 37.4% power gain over conventional methods.
Dengue virus (DV) is a mosquito-borne virus that is endemic to many tropical and subtropical areas. Recently, the annual incidence of DV infection has increased worldwide, including in Korea, due to ...global warming and increased global travel. We therefore sought to characterize the molecular and evolutionary features of DV-1 and DV-4 isolated from Korean overseas travelers. We used phylogenetic analysis based on the full coding region to classify isolates of DV-1 in Korea into genotype I (43251, KP406802), genotype IV (KP406803), and genotype V (KP406801). In addition, we found that strains of DV-4 belonged to genotype I (KP406806) and genotype II (43257). Evidence of positive selection in DV-1 strains was identified in the C, prM, NS2A, and NS5 proteins, whereas DV-4 showed positive selection only in the non-structural proteins NS2A, NS3, and NS5. In ...this report, the molecular and evolutionary properties of four dengue virus (DENV) type 2 isolates from Korean overseas travelers were examined. Three of these isolates were classified as Cosmopolitan genotypes and further divided into sublineages 1 (43,253, 43,254) and 2 (43,248), while the other isolate (KBPV-VR29) was related to American genotypes. The variable amino acid motifs related to virulence and replication were identified in the structural and non-structural proteins. A negative selection mechanism was clearly verified in all of the DENV proteins. Potential recombination events were identified in the NS5 protein of the XSBN10 strain. Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship between types of leisure activities (i.e., Leisure-Time Physical Activity (LTPA), intellectually stimulating activities, ...and community-based activity and the cognitive functions of older adults. We extracted 3,767 samples from the 2020 Health and Retirement Study (n = 15,723). Cognitive functions: (a) memory was assessed by both immediate and delayed recall tests, b) working memory was measured by a subtraction-by-7 test, and (c) attention and processing speed was assessed by the counting back word test. Hierarchical regression analysis was used to investigate the relationship between types of leisure and cognitive functions. LTPA, intellectual leisure, and community-based leisure were significantly associated with improved memory function. The intellectual activity was significantly associated with improved working memory and improved attention and processing speed. This finding provides practical implications for healthcare providers and therapists to design and implement various types of leisure for older adults.

genes of the seed virus passaged in VERO cells. Between those present on the seed virus and those on each SARS-CoV-2 isolated from the lungs of the macaques, a total of 29 variants was identified in 4 coding proteins (ORF1ab, S, ORF3a, and N) and non-coding regions (5′- and 3′-UTR). Variant number was significantly different according to individuals and ranged from 2 to 11. Moreover, the average major frequency variation was identified in six sites between the cynomolgus monkeys and rhesus macaques. As with diverse SNPs in SARS-CoV-2, the values of viral titers in lungs were significantly different according to individuals and species. Our study first revealed that the genomes of SARS-CoV-2 differ according to individuals and species despite infection of the identical virus in non-human primates (NHPs). These results are important for the interpretation of longitudinal studies evaluating the evolution of the SARS-CoV-2 in human beings and development of new diagnostics, vaccine, and therapeutics targeting SARS-CoV-2.
Several COVID-19 platforms have been licensed across the world thus far, but vaccine platform research that can lead to effective antigen delivery is still ongoing. Here, we constructed AdCLD-CoV19 ...that could modulate humoral immunity by harboring SARS-CoV-2 antigens onto a chimeric adenovirus 5/35 platform that was effective in cellular immunity. By replacing the S1/S2 furin cleavage sequence of the SARS-CoV-2 Spike (S) protein mounted on AdCLD-CoV19 with the linker sequence, high antigen expression was confirmed in various cell lines. The high levels of antigen expression contributed to antigen-specific antibody activity in mice and non-human primates (NHPs) with a single vaccination of AdCLD-CoV19. Furthermore, the adenovirus-induced T
1 immune response was specifically raised for the S protein, and these immune responses protected the NHP against live viruses. While AdCLD-CoV19 maintained neutralizing antibody activity against various SARS-CoV-2 variants, it was reduced to single vaccination for β and ο variants, and the reduced neutralizing antibody activity was restored with booster shots. Hence, AdCLD-CoV19 can prevent SARS-CoV-2 with a single vaccination, and the new vaccine administration strategy that responds to various variants can maintain the efficacy of the vaccine.

AKARI, the first Japanese satellite dedicated to infrared astronomy, was launched on 2006 February 21, and started observations in May of the same year. m in the pointed observation mode, occasionally inserted into a continuous survey operation. The in-orbit cryogen lifetime is expected to be one and a half years. The All-Sky Survey will cover more than 90% of the whole sky with a higher spatial resolution and a wider wavelength coverage than that of the previous IRAS all-sky survey. Point-source catalogues of the All-Sky Survey will be released to the astronomical community. Pointed observations will be used for deep surveys of selected sky areas and systematic observations of important astronomical targets. These will become an additional future heritage of this mission.
