The local stability of endemic equilibrium was explored using center manifold theorem where the method utilized by Castilo-Chavez and Song was implemented and revealed that backward bifurcation was driven by the vaccine efficacy. The results revealed that increased administration levels of vaccine, increased identification and treatment of the asymptomatic and strict adherence to isolation for the symptomatic individuals would curtail COVID-19 infections from burgeoning to catastrophic levels that would overrun the capacity of health care support system.

African music scholars are currently grappling with the challenges of refocusing musical arts based on indigenous knowledge for classroom practice as well as developing Africa-sensed musical arts ...curricula that use culturally appropriate pedagogies derived from viable theoretical, philosophical and performance practices of indigenous music. The African spirit of humanity encourages all-inclusive participation that bonds participants in performance-based learning situations. The philosophy framing an assessment model should derive from the ideology of humanity (grounded in humane qualities and aspirations) embedded in musical arts education indigenous to the area of a culture. This model should enable and acknowledge demonstration of differentiated innate attributes and take into account the compatible skills of every participant in the learning activity. Rigid assessment yardsticks are often transferred from Western elitist music education practice and used in the assessment of the musical arts in Africa, thus compromising innate musicality. In this article we advocate for assessment initiatives that should enhance the humanity virtues of indigenous intellectual and praxial paradigms, as well as taking note of epistemological logic embedded in contemporary realities. Two different examples from two African countries are used to illustrate our argument.

This study addressed the problem of translation of European hymns into Dho-luo, with specific reference to text-melody relationships It outlines the process of translating music and compositional ...methods and techniques employed in tonal languages. Thirty hymns sampled from Seventh Day Adventist hymnbook, Wende Nyasaye were analysed in terms of musical and textual relationship. The analysis revealed existence of distortions and irregularities in terms of syllabic accents, speech rhythm and intonation in the translated hymns. These were corrected using the rule of "parallelism" governing Luo songs. Four possible ways of correcting irregularities were used depending on the problems noted. The study established that use of hymns with translated text and borrowed European tunes are stylistically and culturally inappropriate to the Luo context. There is therefore need for developing culturally appropriate songs that will achieve the three components of high communication in African songs namely language, music and performance.
Staff performance is a critical aspect of an organizations ability to meet its objectives, survive, and thrive. Best practice in staff performance involves a full range of managerial practices. For ...this reason, the study sought to investigate the factors influencing performance of staff in TIVET Institutions in Kisumu County. The data employed factor analysis and descriptive statistics such as frequencies, percentages and mean was used to analyze the data. The response rate was 92.86%. The study established that the factors influencing performance of staff were: training of staff, consideration of professional qualification during recruitment, proper selection of staff attributes for job qualification, fairness in recruitment styles, awareness of career opportunities in the institutions, staff knowing what is expected of them within the institution, staff trust in the supervisors, supervisor timely provision of feedback to improve their performance, supervisors helping in resolving conflicts to ensure that performance is not compromised, staff ability to balance professional and personal responsibilities, staff being well rewarded when they perform well, staff being adequately informed of their compensations and benefits when they are employed and lastly staff being paid adequately for their responsibilities.
