The process e+e-→K+K-π0 is studied with the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 e+e- collider. Basing on data with an integrated luminosity of 26.4 pb-1 we measure the e+e-→K+K-π0 cross section in the ...center-of-mass energy range from 1.28 up to 2 GeV. The measured mass spectrum of the Kπ system indicates that the dominant mechanism of this reaction is the transition through the K∗(892)K intermediate state. The cross section for the ϕπ0 intermediate state is measured separately. The SND results are consistent with previous measurements in the BABAR experiment and have comparable accuracy. We study the effect of the interference between the ϕπ0 and K∗K amplitudes. It is found that the interference gives sizable contribution to the measured e+e-→ϕπ0→K+K-π0 cross section below 1.7 GeV.

We present a progress status of a new concept of PID detector called FDIRC, intended to be used at the SuperB experiment, which requires π/K separation up to a few GeV/c. The new photon camera is ...made of the solid fused-silica optics with a volume 25× smaller and speed increased by a factor of 10 compared to the BaBar DIRC, and therefore will be much less sensitive to electromagnetic and neutron background.

We study the process e+e−→π+π−ηγ, where the photon is radiated from the initial state. About 8000 fully reconstructed events of this process are selected from the BABAR data sample with an integrated ...luminosity of 469 fb−1. Using the π+π−η invariant mass spectrum, we measure the e+e−→π+π−η cross section in the e+e− center-of-mass energy range from 1.15 to 3.5 GeV. The cross section is well described by the Vector-Meson dominance model with four ρ-like states. We observe 49±9 events of the J/ψ decay to π+π−η and measure the product ΓJ/Ψ→e+e−BJ/Ψ→π+π−η=2.34±0.43stat±0.16syst eV.

Silica aerogel blocks are being produced for use in Cherenkov detectors by a collaboration of Boreskov Institute of Catalysis and Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics since 1986. Novosibirsk aerogel ...is used in several detectors; among them are KEDR, SND (BINP, Novosibirsk), LHCb (CERN, Geneva), AMS (for International Space Station mission) and others. Currently our investigations are going on in two directions: multilayer aerogels for Focusing Aerogel RICH and aerogels with high index of refraction. We have synthesized two-, three- and four-layer aerogel tiles with dimensions of 115
mm×115
mm. We have modernized the method of pinhole drying for preparation of aerogels with refractive index in the range of 1.07–1.20.

The Main Injector Neutrino Oscillation Search (MINOS) experiment uses an accelerator-produced neutrino beam to perform precision measurements of the neutrino oscillation parameters in the ...“atmospheric neutrino” sector associated with muon neutrino disappearance. This long-baseline experiment measures neutrino interactions in Fermilab's NuMI neutrino beam with a near detector at Fermilab and again 735
km downstream with a far detector in the Soudan Underground Laboratory in northern Minnesota. The two detectors are magnetized steel-scintillator tracking calorimeters. They are designed to be as similar as possible in order to ensure that differences in detector response have minimal impact on the comparisons of event rates, energy spectra and topologies that are essential to MINOS measurements of oscillation parameters. The design, construction, calibration and performance of the far and near detectors are described in this paper.
We use 429 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the BABAR detector to measure the radiative transition rate of $b\rightarrow s\gamma$ with a sum of 38 ...exclusive final states. The inclusive branching fraction with a minimum photon energy of 1.9 GeV is found to be $\mathcal{B}(\bar B \rightarrow X_{s}\gamma)=(3.29\pm 0.19\pm 0.48)\times 10^{-4}$ where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. We also measure the first and second moments of the photon energy spectrum and extract the best fit values for the heavy-quark parameters, $m_{b}$ and $\mu_{\pi}^{2}$, in the kinetic and shape function models.
