The flame-retardant treatment of polyester fabrics has been widely reported, but most of these treatments cause a significant decrease in the fabric’s handle, such as fluffiness and softness. This ...study designed and synthesised a new phosphorus-nitrogen-containing silicone oil (PNSO). Then, PNSO as a flame-retardant was treated on polyester fabric through a pad-dry-cure procedure. The limiting oxygen index (LOI), afterflame time and damaged length of the finished polyester fabric (PNSO-F) were enhanced from 20.5%, 73.1 s and 26.8 cm to 28.3%, 4.5 s and 12.3 cm, respectively. After 12 washes, PNSO-F retained its good flame-retardancy and anti-dripping properties. Furthermore, the flame-retardant mechanism of PNSO on fabric was investigated using different spectral methods, which revealed that nitrogen acting in the gas phase, and phosphorus and silicone in the condensed phase worked together to produce a synergistic flame-retardant effect. In addition, KES tests indicated that the fluffiness and softness of PNSO-F were significantly improved.

Currently, the primary method of identifying high‐ and low‐quality liquors is sensory tasting, which is prone to uncertainty caused by the biases of tasters. To address this problem, this study used ...color, aroma, taste, and style as four factors affecting the sensory quality of Luzhou‐flavor liquor; determined the weights of each factor; and quantitatively evaluated the sensory quality of five different Luzhou flavor liquor using fuzzy mathematical methods. The volatile aromatic substances in the liquor samples were detected by GC‐MS, and analyzed using principal component analysis. The results obtained from fuzzy mathematics and principal component analysis indicated that the comprehensive evaluation system was scientifically sound and reasonably constructed.
So far, there have been no reports on the application of fuzzy mathematics evaluation method in the sensory evaluation of Luzhou‐flavor liquor and the application of PCA in the comprehensive analysis and evaluation of physical and chemical indexes of liquor. In this experiment, the sensory quality of different liquors was quantitatively evaluated by fuzzy mathematics, GC‐MS was used to detect volatile aroma compounds and principal component analysis of liquor samples, so as to establish a more scientific and objective comprehensive evaluation model of liquor. Fuzzy mathematics was applied in sensory evaluation. Principal component analysis was then employed in the comprehensive analysis of physicochemical indicators. Thereby, a scientific and comprehensive liquor evaluation model was established.
Daqu is an essential starter for baijiu brewing in China. However, the microbial enrichment and metabolic characteristics of Daqu formed at different fermentation temperatures are still unclear.
...High-throughput sequencing technology and the non-targeted metabolomics were used to compare the microbial communities and metabolites of Taorong-type high-temperature Daqu and middle-temperature Daqu. In this study, the relationship between microorganisms and metabolites was established.
The study found that the composition and metabolites of the microbial community differed due to the difference in Daqu-making temperature. The bacterial diversity of Taorong-type high-temperature Daqu was higher than that of middle-temperature Daqu, while the fungal community diversity of Taorong-type middle-temperature Daqu was higher than that of high temperature Daqu. A total of 1,034 differential metabolites were screened from the two types of Daqu, and 76 metabolites with significant differences were detected (
< 0.001 and variable importance in projection (VIP) > 1.15). Tetraacetylethylenediamine is the metabolite with the largest differential fold among the 76 differential metabolites, which can be used as a potential marker metabolite of high-temperature Daqu.
This study helps elucidate the microbial assembly mechanisms and functional expression under different processing conditions through a further understanding of the composition and metabolic profile differences of different types of Daqu microflora in Taorong-type baijiu.
Pancreatic adenosquamous carcinoma (ASPC) is a rare subtype of pancreatic cancer with lethal malignancy, and few studies have focused on the heterogeneity of ASPC. Here, we performed a single-cell ...sequencing procedure on pancreatic tumor tissue from an ASPC patient and a patient with high-grade intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN). Through the combined analysis of single-cell sequencing data from five pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients, one IPMN patient, and one ASPC patient in a public database, we identified 11 main types of cells, including macrophages, B cells, cancer stem cells, ductal cells, fibroblasts, endo/stellate cells, neutrophils, acinar cells, T cells, natural killer (NK) cells, dendritic cells, and mast cells. Then, the different characteristics and differentiation paths of the immune microenvironment among IPMN, ASPC, and PDAC in macrophages, T cells, and cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) were identified through multiple bioinformatics analyses. Two novel special cancer-associated fibroblasts were identified as nCAFs and imCAFs. Then, cancer cells in duct cells were identified using the infercnv software. Two ASPC-specific subgroups of cancer cells with squamous cell features were identified. Finally, the identified specific CAFs and cancer cells were mapped to TCGA-PAAD cohort through the cibersoftx software. All of these identified subgroups were calculated to have a significant prognostic value in pancreatic cancer patients. These findings will promote the clinical application of single-cell sequencing data of pancreatic cancer and deepen our understanding of ASPC.

APG-1387 is a novel second mitochondria-derived activator of caspase (Smac) mimetic IAP inhibitor. The aim of this study was to explore the synergistic effect of APG-1387 when combined with anti-PD-1 antibody in a preclinical setting.
We utilized syngeneic mouse models of ovarian cancer (ID8), colon cancer (MC38), malignant melanoma (B16), and liver cancer (Hepa1-6) to assess the combination effect of APG-1387 and anti-PD-1 antibody, including immune-related factors, tumor growth, and survival. MSD V-PLEX validated assays were used to measure in vitro and in vivo cytokine release.
In ID8 ovarian cancer and MC38 colon cancer models, APG-1387 and anti-PD1 antibody had synergistic antitumor effects. In the MC38 model, the combination of APG-1387 and anti-PD-1 antibody significantly inhibited tumor growth (P < 0.0001) and increased the survival rate of tumor-bearing animals (P < 0.001). Moreover, we found that APG-1387 upregulated tumor-infiltrating CD3 + NK1.1 + cells by nearly 2-fold, by promoting tumor cell secretion of IL-12. Blocking IL-12 secretion abrogated the synergistic effects of APG-1387 and anti-PD-1 antibody in both MC38 and ID8 models.
APG-1387 has the potential to turn "cold tumors" into hot ones by recruiting more CD3 + NK1.1 + cells into certain tumors. Based on these and other data, the safety and therapeutic effect of this combination will be investigated in a phase 1/2 trial in patients with advanced solid tumors or hematologic malignancies (NCT03386526).
The richness and diversity of bacterial community in the fermented pit mud from the new and old distilleries of Shedian Liquor were analysed via the Illumina Miseq PE300 high-throughput sequencing ...technology, so as to further understand the differences of bacterial community structure in fermented pit muds with different pit ages. The results show that the bacterial community is mainly distributed into five dominant phyla (> 1.0%): Firmicutes, Synergistes, Bacteroidetes, Proteobacteria and Verrucomicrobia. There are 13 dominant genera (> 1.0%), of which Lactobacillus is dominant in both samples with a higher content in the new pit (61.12%) and lower in the old pit (1.15%). Caproiciproducens accounting for 43.53% and Syntrophomonas accounting for 6.20%, norank_f__Family_XIV (17.68%), Aminobacterium (17.68%), Sedimentibacter (1.89%), Caldicoprobacter (1.52%) and Sporanaerobacter (1.29%) are the dominant bacteria in the old pit mud. Bacillus accounting for 6.02%, Bacteroides (6.27%), Akkermansia (1.51%), Hydrogenispora (2.15%) and norank_f__Bacteroidales_S24-7_group (1.15%) are the dominant bacteria in the new pit mud. The results showed that there is a great difference in the bacterial community structure of in the new and old pit mud. In addition, compared with the bacterial community composition in the pit mud of Luzhou flavour Baijiu in Sichuan, it was found that the microorganisms that formed caproic acid and butyric acid were different.

The survival rate of MP has increased up to 80% in recent years. According to. a review of the treatment and outcomes of patients diagnosed with MP, we evaluated the influence of. early operation on survival rate and discussed the risk factors of prognosis.
We collected 79 cases of patients diagnosed with MP who were treated in our department. from October 2001 to December 2017. They were divided into 2 groups. Patients in group A were born. in our hospital. Patients in group B were born in a local hospital with suspicion of MP and then transferred. to our department.
The birth weight (BW) and gestational age (GA) of patients were higher in group A than in. group B. There was no significant difference in the proportion of premature and low birth weight (LBW). patients between the two groups (p = 0.422, p = 0.970). Their age at the time of surgery was younger in. group A than in group B (1.4 ± 2.0 vs. 6.9 ± 14.9, p < 0.001). The overall survival rate of group A was higher. than that of group B (95.0% vs. 79.5%, p = 0.038). The prognosis of premature patients was worse than. that of full-term infants for both groups (p = 0.012).
Prematurity is a significant risk factor related to death for MP patients. The survival rate. of MP patients can be improved by early operation during the neonatal period.
A simple, selective, and quantitative platform for point-of-care diagnostic of COVID-19 is urgently needed as a complement in areas where resources are currently relatively scarce. To meet the needs ...of early diagnosis and intervention, a proof-of-concept demonstration of a universal personal glucose meter-based nucleic acid assay platform (PGM-NAAP) is presented, which converts to SARS-CoV-2 detection from glucose detection. By using magnetic bead separation together with the hand-held PGM for quantitative readout, PGM-NAAP achieves the 98 pM limit of detection for a sequence related to SARS-CoV-2. The ability to discriminate target nucleic acid from genomic DNA, the satisfactory spike recoveries of saliva and serum samples, as well as the good stability all together suggest the potential of the PGM-NAAP for the screening and diagnosis of suspected patients during the outbreaks of COVID-19 in resource-limited settings without sophisticated instruments. On the basis of these findings, PGM-NAAP can be expected to provide an accurate and convenient path for diagnosis of disease-associated nucleic acid.
Compelling evidence has indicated the vital role of lysine-specific demethylase 4 A (KDM4A), hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF1α) and the mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway in ...nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Therefore, we aimed to investigate whether KDM4A affects NPC progression by regulating the HIF1α/DDIT4/mTOR signaling pathway. First, NPC and adjacent tissue samples were collected, and KDM4A protein expression was examined by immunohistochemistry. Then, the interactions among KDM4A, HIF1α and DDIT4 were assessed. Gain- and loss-of-function approaches were used to alter KDM4A, HIF1α and DDIT4 expression in NPC cells. The mechanism of KDM4A in NPC was evaluated both in vivo and in vitro via RT-qPCR, Western blot analysis, MTT assay, Transwell assay, flow cytometry and tumor formation experiments. KDM4A, HIF1α, and DDIT4 were highly expressed in NPC tissues and cells. Mechanistically, KDM4A inhibited the enrichment of histone H3 lysine 9 trimethylation (H3K9me3) in the HIF1α promoter region and thus inhibited the methylation of HIF1α to promote HIF1α expression, thus upregulating DDIT4 and activating the mTOR signaling pathway. Overexpression of KDM4A, HIF1α, or DDIT4 or activation of the mTOR signaling pathway promoted SUNE1 cell proliferation, migration, and invasion but inhibited apoptosis. KDM4A silencing blocked the mTOR signaling pathway by inhibiting the HIF1α/DDIT4 axis to inhibit the growth of SUNE1 cells in vivo. Collectively, KDM4A silencing could inhibit NPC progression by blocking the activation of the HIF1α/DDIT4/mTOR signaling pathway by increasing H3K9me3, highlighting a promising therapeutic target for NPC.
